My daughter and I have used Midas for several years on our vehicles. We have been satisfied with the work done. The manager, front desk help and mechanics are all very pleasant. The tech Tommy, even though cringes when he sees my vehicle, lol, is very meticulous. Cory always discusses current and potential future issues on my vehicle, very pleasant trust worthy individual.i have read some of the comments left by others and those are from individuals who have a chip on their shoulders from what ever crap they have going on in their lives so it doesn't matter if they were treated with respect and courtesy they were going to be negative. There have been times minor things have been forgotten but those I choose to ignore because even in my own job when you are getting smacked with a ton of work, little things go are Accidentally forgotten. The one thing I would like to see done is a store policy (POSTED) that customers, if they want to listen and watch junk on their phones need to do so with ear buds or ear phones. I felt bad for myself because an inconsiderate person who had no regards for others was playing junk music and by time I left I was p o'd. The staff at this place are amazing. I had already been to another shop for a funny noise that I couldn't quite figure out (but new noises are never good noises.) The previous shop didn't find anything, suggested maybe an early exhaust system problem. The noise got worse so I went to Midas expecting to need a new muffler. At check-in, Ismael was SO THOUGHTFUL and actively listened to my concerns, and asked a few questions. He then advised me that they would look at the exhaust system but suspected it was a problem with wheel bearings. Which it was, and could have resulted in a very bad breakdown. They fixed it that day, no questions asked, even though it was a bitterly cold day with lots of walk-ins with crises of their own. And they could have "taken me for a ride" when I asked if we should replace the bearings on the other wheels "preventively" to which Ismael's response was "No, that would be a waste of your money." I took my daughters 2017 Camry in and paid Midas just under $1000 for a 4 wheel brake job in Jan 2023, This week I took the car back in because the brakes are pulsing hard again and they charged me almost $500 to fix the front brakes again. They claim that my Daughter drove too many miles in 18 months, 23K miles, or she must have hit too many potholes etc. and damaged the brakes. The original OEM brakes from Toyota lasted 58K miles, the brakes from Midas lasted less than 23K miles. My take on this is that Midas puts in substandard parts and over charges for the parts and the labor and they say that the brakes pads are warrantied for a lifetime so that they can get the customer to come back so that the can be overcharged for all of the other items.I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO MIDAS FOR WORK ON ANY WORK ON ANY OF MY 5 VEHICLES. read more

For general maintenance these guys are great. Plus they are honest. I know cars pretty well but a cheap oil change and tire rotation ($23.00 after tax) is so much easier to let a shop do then do it your self with out all the tools. These guys came out and told me how my car looked and what they thought.... Guess what nothing needed to be replaced or fixed. normally these places will tell you to change a filter or to balance tires or some other fluid needs to be replaced not these guys. plus they told me all of the other things that they did to my car like tire pressure and window washer fluid. most places say they have done this or its on their checklist of everything they do.... but sometimes you gotta wonder if they actually did that whole check list. I have been a customer of Lake Street Midas since 2015, when I moved to Minneapolis with my family. My wife's (2007 Honda Odyssey; 2005 Toyota Corolla), my dad's (2002 Lexus ES 200; 2004 Hyundai Tiburon), and my cars (2012 Ford Fusion; 2003 Mercury Cougar) have all been serviced by this Midas since, and we have been very happy with their service. The entire Midas crew has been very professional. Also, they are quite honest and affordable. I have even compared their prices with Turbo Tim's and Midas often comes on top with prices that are lower for the same service. Most importantly, our cars have received routine maintenance at Midas and continue running optimally and without problems. Clean, professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. These guys rock. From the minute you walk in, they greet you and keep the dialog going. They were very honest and are always looking out for the customer. The original quote they provided me was about 10 dollars more than I ended up paying. Works for me! They took the time to show me exactly what they were doing to my brakes and even presented me with a few scenarios such as replacing brake pads only, but ultimately I replaced brakes and rotors. I brought my car in for new brake pads...unfortunately, both the pads and the rotors were shot, so I needed to replace both of them. Erick, the person who helped me, was very friendly and professional. After the technician got done looking at the brakes, Erick showed me how the rotors had developed a ridge on the outside edge. This indicated uneven wearing, and to just replace the pads would lead to more problems later. I appreciated how he showed me the problem, as opposed to just telling me what it was. I always feel so welcome by the staff, Erick is always polite and ready to help make scheduling easy. They are honest with me about fixes I need, and the ones I don't/can wait. The customer service is great. They inform you before fixing or charging you for anything. I have been going here for 5 years now and I am so thankful for honest, hard working, quality work. They had tuned up my car a few weeks ago before a trip to WI and my van drove perfectly there and back to MN. they asked me to bring my car back in to check up again after the trip. My check engine light had come back on and after doing diagnostics and assessing I couldn't afford the options at the moment, they were EXTREMELY understanding, especially given the circumstances in the city. Really great service, was able to get my car in ASAP to have it looked at. They fixed my car fairly quickly, which was a relief since I do depend on my car for work. They also explained to me what the issue was, unlike some car places that basically spin you in circles about what needs to be repaired, and gave me some tips on how to prevent the issue in the future. I arrived for my Friday afternoon appointment seven minutes early, and the car was in the bay right on time. The problem was a heat shield plate hanging by an aluminum thread. I was away 22 minutes after my appointment time, with not so much as a scratch on my personal national debt card. I live in the neighborhood and have been a customer here for at least 5 years. I'm always impressed with their customer service, and they often check my tires free of charge, which is very generous. I've had them replace my tires and break pads and change my oil, and check when engine or tire lights go on. They've always done a good job and given a fair price. Thumbs up! read more
