CONSUMERS BEWARE!!!!!! These people will STEAL your money! My brother went in for general car repairs and maintenance totaling $2,500 only to find out a week later that the entire frame was rotted and unsalvageable. The other mechanic he went to said "If you hit a pothole, you could literally lose the entire vehicle". The people at Midas MUST HAVE KNOWN about this issue for the following reasons: 1. If you're a half decent mechanic and you did anything which required putting a car on a lift, you would have noticed this issue (part of the $2,500 worth of work required this). 2. The people at Midas REFUSED to do an alignment which the customer specifically asked for. Once he went to another shop, they told him that it would be impossible to do that work due to the extensiveness of the rotting / rust / other associated issues with the vehicle. The mechanics at Midas have not one iota of human decency, and I hope this review helps consumers seek alternative shops for their automotive care. No one in their right mind would do $2,500 worth of work for a car they knew would require an additional $4,000 above and beyond the value of the vehicle, and that level of transparency was purposefully shielded by the management of this organization. I wish my experience was as great as the other reviewer. My daughter went in with what she assumed were bad brakes. We had assumed they would at least drive the car around the block but they did not. They replaced brakes and rotors and called her to come and get it. When she did he said when he test drive it he realized that the wheel bearing were bad. I thought this funny because when I asked him why he didn't test drive it first thing he told me it was low on gas. But now he is telling me he test drove it and the bearing were bad. Which he would generously replace for over $300 on top of the $420 for front brakes and rotors. He also was going on and on about her applying for a Midas card. I believe he took advantage of the fact my daughter is young and didn't know any better. Please be aware if you choose to go here. read more

I WAS ROBBED!! The very first time I took my car into midas I was told it was the cleanest most kept up car they have seen in along time for a 93 with 53,000 original miles. This was my moms car. She only drove it when she went out. Her and my dad did regular maint. on it. She still has the owners manual in it. So on 1/17/19 I took it in for an oil change. It took forever! As you sit and wait, here comes and goes the Napa auto parts truck. People they're ordering your parts before you need them! So my oil change isn't finished, they take me out to the garage and I see my engine is torn apart! Why for a great looking car and just an oil change? My mom suffered from alzhimers disease so my dad took the battery out and the necessary things out so she wouldn't drive it. So midas said I should do a combustion cleaning. They charged 79.99 to listen to the motor!!?? My "oil change " was almost $300. Well after I drove off just down the road, I hear a roaring in the engine. I figured it was from the combustion cleaning. Well it kept getting louder. We just had - 56 below temps. My car is the only one that started and I worked 13 hours and it sat outside. I contacted mason city midas 15 days later about the horrible noise maybe they can fix it. Oh they fixed it alright! The noise I heard when I drove off, they say I needed a new alternator!! Mind you they all said my car was in great shape! Now I need all these parts?? $600 later and I have to go back. I know they did something to my moms car! It never sounded like that when I dropped it off. I'm very angry and I trusted them! I work in a huge place with patients and medical teams.
