Please don't give these people your money. Their business needs to die and stop dragging the generally respectable Midas name through the dirt. PRO: staff is decently approachable CON: EVERYTHING else. The management must be on a permanent vacation. The oil line in my car was leaking, so we had to get the car towed to the nearest repair shop. Unfortunately, the Midas on Bandera near Heubner was that shop. They quoted thousands for the repair because they were trying to purchase the entire assemblage for the oil line from the manufacturer instead of diagnosing the problem and only ordering the parts they would need. When we declined the service (because it was simply too expensive) and went to load the car on a trailer to transport it home, we needed a few guys to help load the car with us. The entire staff refused and just stared at us as we attempted to load the car. Throughout the process they had be uncommunicative and impatient as staff, but I cannot forgive their heartlessness as human beings. read more

Completely dishonest. I only went here for two reasons. My regular mechanic was not available and I really needed to get my car fixed and didn't have time to do any research. This happened about 6 months ago. My grandfather had just died and I needed my car in good condition for a drive to Colorado and back. I asked for an oil change, and to figure out what the grinding noise was. After a few hours of waiting, they finally tell me the axels were busted, they would need to order parts, and it would not be ready until tomorrow. Of course I was disappointed but at that point gave them the benefit of the doubt. A mechanic there was nice enough to give me a ride home. Next day I take a Lyft there, I left them know I was there and they informed me it would be a few more hours. Ugh! So I walk across the street and have lunch. After I return and wait a bit longer, they inform me they never picked up the part! WTH!!!! I was furious. But what was I gonna do? I already paid for the service. So my mother in law picked me up. The next day, I called and asked if they had my car ready? They said they would be getting the part today and have finished. It was about this time I remembered my car was probably still under manufacturer warranty. After calling the dealership, they said it was most likely covered but they'd need to look at it first to know for sure, but if not, it would probably still be cheaper then what Midas was asking for. So my wife calls the dealership and demands they put my car back together that we would be picking it up, and would be asking for our money back. The dealership said my problem had nothing to do with the axels. I forgot was the issue was but the warranty did not completely cover it and I had to pay some out of pocket (still paying for it). Midas refused to pay me back. They charged me parts and labor. It should not have cost more than an oil change!! I asked very specifically, did you change any parts?? They said no because I had asked them to stop. Then why are you charging me? Because we still ordered the part. But the axel wasn't even the issue!! They kept giving me the run around, oh we'll have to talk to the upper management or we'll call you back. My wife called them back a billion time. They stopped answering her number, but when she'd call from another number, they'd answer. I had to let it go because I had a lot of other things going on in my life. So $1100 down the drain! I really needed that money. Well it gets better. About a week ago, my car started smoking while I was out driving. A friend/mechanic was able to check my car out and pointed out that it looks like the oil hadn't been changed in about a year. WTH. $1100 was absolutely nothing! These people are crooks. They don't deserve any stars, they said I needed a new engine, took it to someone else and a new engine is not required. The person at the new place deals with nothing but engines. I have been a long time customer of Express lube, I went to do my usual oil change but I wanted to get my brakes inspected properly because I had just been in an accident. That day they lost my business do to laziness of the "mechanic" which literally bent over to look at my brakes instead of properly inspecting them. So I drove down the street to Midas for an oil change advertised at $19.99. So I go in environment was ok at the beginning. I tell Christian an employee that addresses me of how they can help me. I told them an oil change. As I was getting put into the system the manager "Chris" was dealing with a customer who had a coupon for a free oil change. I proceed to ask Christian if I can use the same coupon, he agreed. Condition of coupon was to give a good review. Which at the time so far so good. Until the next day I bring in my Mom to get an oil change. Christian help me out again with my mom. Christian "mistakenly ""grazed"" my mom's breast "with trying to assist her with inputing an app for review coupon". I had my head turned at the time when this happened. All I heard my mom said was" excuse me!? For that I better be getting full synthetic oil for that!!" I turned to see what was going on, Christian began to chuckle and said "oh yes mam!" He then tells me that he "accidently grazed my mom's boob" .I was like what!? My mom said ya, and for that I'm getting full synthetic oil. He then assured her of it. As they are doing the oil change my mom begins to tell me the true story. He intentionally touched her breasts and thought it was funny. Not only that but they did not follow through with the proper oil agreed upon for "his accident". This visit continue to get worse. He began to get pushy not only with "what they found in routine exspection" but continued to be unprofessional with another customer who came in, yelled at them, put his hand out and was rude saying he was dealing with us at the time. Until he found out the wife of the customer had an asset for parts then Christian rubbed his hands together and said "ooo cheap parts ". As he continues to "do his job, of informing us because it's his legal responsibility". My patience began to run thin. We were on a time schedule . He still begins to push on us an 2500.00 estimate of work, but "today he can knocked off a few hundred bucks" I told him that today we can not do that and that we had to pick up my little sister from school. He then got in my face so hatefully and yelled at me so rudly "excuse me I have a legal responsibility to tell you this!" I told him I heard you the first time no need of being rude, again we have to pick up my little sister, we can not do that today. I was appreciated of the free oil change but it was not worth my mom being sexual assaulted, and continued to be harassed in a rude way. "Midas touch" is right. I have more to say of other customers who were treated in the same manner and paid services that were not properly done right just in a 24hr period of visiting them from one day to another. read more

Had a great experience here at this location. And just an FYI people who complained about long wait time... bringing your car in for any service is like sitting waiting for a doctors visit.... so if you don't have time to wait for them to properly service your car then go somewhere else! Very Sketchy, I walked in to get their oil change special for $19.99 about an hour later he comes back telling me that my air filter was bad and he recommend me changing it and that it would only be $20 witch is what they get it for anyways. I said sure. The older lady paying in front of me got the same special and the same $20 air filter but when she was ready to paid the sales person told her that it would be $57 that's (19.99 + 20 + tax = $43.29). When I paid he told me the same price of $57 I then told him that the oil change was $19.99 and the filter was $20 he then apologized and said that I was right, however if I won't have said anything he would of changed me $13 more like he did the older lady. I just wanted to state that I created an account to write a review for this place. I made a mistake coming here and wanted to save people from making the same mistake. My mom came to visit me from Houston. She told me that on her way here, her air conditioning was not cold and that it was just blowing air. It was not cold or hot. We drove down Bandera and saw plenty of auto repair shops and decided to go with Midas. I came in and told the front desk guy word for word about our situation. I wanted to get my air conditioning check for my mom. He said it was free to get it checked and I asked how long the wait was. He asked if I was in a hurry and I said yes because my mom needs to go back to Houston. He told me the wait would be 15-20 minutes. I came at 11:50 am and my car was not seen till 1:00pm ish. Around 1:40ish a mechanic came and talked to us. He told us he would need 2 hours to diagnose the problem and I saw that they did open my glove department to look further inside. He told us that is would cost us $220 for the two hours. My mom decided that the air conditioning was not bad and she could take it back to Houston, so I told the guy we wanted to take our car home and think about it. When we got our car, I turned on the a/c to have some air blowing, but this time the driver's side was the same air as before and the passenger's side was blowing hot air (heat). It is 88-95 degrees outside and we have heat air blowing out. We went back in and asked them what happened. They said that they " did not touch anything". I came here to get my car fixed, not to make it worse. They would not do anything, so we had to contact the district manager. I called the district manager around 1:53pm and talked to him directly. I told them I came in with my air condition just blowing air and it was tolerable. Now, I come out of Midas with bigger problems. One side of my car is just blowing air and the passenger's side is blowing heat. He told me we would call me back as soon as he got information from the Midas on Bandera. I waited an hour and still no response, so I decided to call him back and he told me to meet him in 30 minutes at the Midas on Bandera which would be 3:30pm. My mom and I came back exactly at 3:30pm and he is nowhere to be found. The front desk guy was unaware that the district manager was coming too, so he called him and the district manager told him to have the mechanics check my car again. The manager finally came around 4:00ish. He checked the car and agreed that there is heat coming from the passenger's side. He admitted that they did manipulate my car to heat to test it and could not get it back to original. He offered to "help" us, but his help was not helpful at all. He gave us an estimate that it would take more than 7 hours of work, which equals to $700 ish and with the parts included would be aroun $900-$1500 dollars total. 1. That was too much money and time that we do not have. 2. My car came out worse than coming in. 3. they admitted that they did touch my car to make it to heat Now, my mom has to drive three hours to Houston with a non working a/c. She has to drive 5 am, so that it would not be too hot for her. We were unfortunate to come here and it was unfair to us. I am disappointed in their service, they were unprofessional, and they were rude. They wasted half of our day and made our car worse. As I stated before, I came in to fix my car and not make it worse. Save yourself some time and money and go to another auto repair shop to get your car fixed. This team is great. Jason is very tuned in to his customers. He made good suggestions and helped me get the right repair at the right price. Anthony's phone service brought me in and Michael did the repairs on my car. I felt safe and well cared for here. I highly recommend this shop and I'll definitely be back! DO NOT EVER VISIT THIS LOCATION. i went in for an oil change and to have the balancing on my tires checked. I drove away from the location only to have my rear tire fall right off the axle WHILE I WAS DRIVING. What a horrifying experience!! the technician Nick did not tighten the lug nuts on the tire! AND it's not the first time he has done this to a customer!! My truck is damaged and they sent me away saying there was no damage to my truck! I rolled fro about 30 feet on raw metal and watched my tire and rim speed past me down the street. Now they are contesting the damages and I have to contact an attorney to get my truck fixed after they admitted responsibility. Marc Loscano, the district manager has decided to go on vacation and now my truck is STILL sitting at the collision center for over a week with no repairs. Marc Loscano did not follow up with me to update me on their next steps to resolve this issue nor has he bothere to return my many phone calls. I spoke with the corporate office and and being told to wait for a callback. This location puts people in danger with faulty work and leaves their customers out to dry!
