I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at this Midas location. On July 8, 2024, I scheduled an appointment to diagnose three warning lights on my car: the SH-AWD light, emissions test light, and A136 service light. I arrived at 3:15 PM and signed a consent form for diagnostics, for which I was charged $82.50. After examining my vehicle, the technicians informed me that I needed a Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor. They emphasized that not replacing the sensor promptly could lead to improper air-fuel mixture and potentially damage the catalytic converter. Given that I use my car for work, they strongly recommended an immediate fix. When I inquired about the urgency, they insisted it should be done as soon as possible. Due to the urgency conveyed, I sought a secondary opinion but could only reach my sister, who advised following the shop's recommendation. The quoted cost for the MAF Sensor was $264.99, with an additional $85.00 for labor. As I did not have the necessary funds available, the staff suggested an EasyPay loan, which I applied for and was approved. However, upon further investigation, I discovered that the MAF Sensor in question retails for only $59.99. This significant discrepancy indicates that I was charged nearly five times the retail price, which I believe is a deceptive and unethical practice. I am highly concerned about the business practices at this Midas location. I urge other customers to be cautious and seek a second opinion before agreeing to any costly repairs here. I am currently pursuing a complaint with the BBB and the consumer protection office to address this matter. Update: the manager also lied to the consumer protection offices and said my car was brought in for intermittent no start which isnt even true my car has never not started. ETA: Alex has been really helpful and took time to explain everything to me in detail. I still think there should have been more of a diagnostic and testing and that the cost of the part is really expensive but I've felt less like I'm being taken advantage of since he took time to explain everything even if I don't understand it. I had an extremely uncomfortable experience at this Midas location. I brought my car in for an issue and was immediately told that both my AC compressor and condenser were leaking and needed to be replaced right away -- or I'd be stranded on the side of the road." That comment alone was wildly unprofessional and inappropriate. The technician created a false sense of urgency that left me feeling panicked and vulnerable. As a young woman from out of state, I felt I was being targeted -- especially since this happened near the end of the month, when shops are often trying to hit sales quotas. Thankfully, I took my car to a second mechanic for a second opinion. They inspected everything thoroughly and told me neither my compressor nor my condenser was leaking or needed replacement. This experience was not only stressful but felt predatory. This is for the shop in Waukesha Wisconsin. My air stopped working and I was done with private garages. I checked out some big names and Midas had the highest ratings. Plus I was able to make an appointment online. They got me in the very next day. I had looked up costs for repairs and of course mine needed the more expensive repair. BUT, it was the lowest cost of the expensive repair. I also had an oil change done and they checked for leaks. No leaks! YEAH! I was treated with courtesy (being an elderly woman that is always a plus) and I hope they were impressed with my knowledge of the repairs needed. Great, great service all around. read more

Yelp reviews seem to vary wildly from one reviewer to another, so it often seems unclear to me whether we're talking about a good business, or a bad one. I needed an oil change and a tire rotation, so I decided to call around, initially looking for the best price. But after calling five shops, and getting three different answers, I needed to do more homework on my own. It turns out that the manufacturer of my car recommends I use all synthetic oil. This discovery made it clear to me, that 3 of 5 answers I received were wrong. I could not or at least should not use regular oil, or a combination oil, I needed 100% synthetic. This calls for a much more expensive oil change, roughly 3 times the cost of a regular oil change. When I called Midas, and spoke with Kent, he knew exactly what I had to have, and told me the correct price. I had found an online coupon, which he honored right over the phone, and put it in the system. With this coupon, Midas was the cheapest for the synthetic oil change at roughly $70, as others wanted $90 if including the tire rotation. I was able to schedule my appointment for the following afternoon, and I was told it would take an hour. The following day they took my car right away, and I had it back in 56 minutes ( a few minutes ahead of the quoted time.) The overarching reason I would recommend this Midas store however, is that clearly the owner and key employees are long term, understand this business, and give you quick and accurate information. This type of business often involves a revolving door of individuals not always well versed at what they recommend. I have 100% confidence in Kent, and I will be utilizing Midas much more for all my mechanic needs moving forward. Hopefully my experience and leg work can pay off for you. But he promised me tires and not only found them, went and got them himself, drove them back and even stayed an hour later then the store closed to come through with the promise, on new years eve! I really liked this place the first few times I got oil changes here. The management has recently changed and I cannot give it a better rating. A friend took their car in and I went with them so they could drop their car off. What they paid was 3 times as much as the estimate. The time it took was open until almost close! It was for a set of new tires and an oil change!! It should have taken a couple of hours at most. My friend had made an appointment well in advance so this should not have been an issue. My friend called only to be told repeatedly it would be another 1-2 hours. I will never go back and I no longer trust them with my service needs. So disappointed. :( read more

Sketchy! Never again! I went in there last week to get my alternator replaced. Their reviews seemed ok, I needed my car ASAP and they were quick to call me back to confirm my appointment and get me in that morning. So Im like cool, I sat there and waited, not an issue. That have a descent waiting area. Red flag 1 I noticed they do not take any of the vehicles for a test drive. I paid for my car, drove 4 miles down the road, I can feel my car shaking, skipping gears as I accelerated then my check engine light goes on. I'm like WTF! I go back explain to Danielle, she says "oh, that's an entirely different system, you must have some other stuff going on with your car" she was very quick to not accept responsibility. So Mathew is like give me the keys, we'll take a look. 5 mins later, Mathew says "we forgot to tighten Down the air intake tube, if you have any issues bring it back." An hour later, the same **** and the check engine light comes on. I go back and they are closed. I'm very upset. The next afternoon I call them and talk to Mathew. I felt like I was talking with an autistic child. He had some lame *** excuses and mentioned they didn't even have a reader to test equipment or whatever. At this point I realized I don't even want them touching my car. I took my car to dealership to get this solved. If Midas wants to make this right they can reimburse me for their **** labor and wasting my time. read more

I left asking myself: Are lug nuts the exotic part of the tire..? I give these maestro's one star, only because they corrected their mistake from 2 weeks earlier. It was then I left my vehicle for brakes. They checked both front and rear, but the rear brakes had to wait. As the next two weeks rolled on, I noticed a rattle in my front left tire. No problem I thought, they said she needed new rotors and pads. My mistake giving them the benefit of doubt. The rattle got incessant. Sounded like I'd loose the front wheel. I almost did. Not because of the brakes, but some troglodyte forgot to actually TIGHTEN the fucking nuts! I showed up at the same location with 3 nuts loose inside the hubcap. Complementary new nuts and they screwed them on tight after wards. One star for that brilliant maneuver alone. Rotten work. Save the doobie for after work with your Nintendo and Cheetos. read more

Ok I have never seen such unprofessional staff in all my days... put that aside for a moment, I went in for a quote for brakes and such and no one could tell me anything... I got the shop manager to quote me after about an hour and I walked the the quote around the corner to Car X and they price matched and beat Midas... These guys messed up my old civic as well with my distributor issue, I'm just glad no one trains these guys.... soon they will run themselves out of business. read more

My wife and 4 young children blew a radiator hose on the freeway and were able to limp it to an exit. I called the Greenfield Midas, which was about a mile away. It was early in the day and they were booked solid. When I explained the situation over the phone, the person I spoke with told me to send her over and he would personally assist her (without hesitation). He was understanding, accommodating, and took the car in right away. Instead, the mechanic thoroughly examined the problem for nearly an hour and determined it was minor. As a young woman alone who doesn't know much about cars, I was informed by the tech at this location that the rotors and break pads on all 4 tires were dire-emergency-don't-drive-this-anymore bad. They quoted me $726 and said I shouldn't move the car until I get all of this replaced! I made a few phone calls, cried in the parking lot (because I was so worried), asked if just the fronts could be done (with a resounding 'no'). I didn't have the money so I had them put the tires back on and took the car home. I got a second opinion - which was "just the front break pads need replacing. Rotors and back break pads are just fine!" Someone HONEST replaced my break pads in the front and now my car is just fine. They took advantage of a girl who came alone, was worried and doesn't know much about cars. Bad service. Dishonest. No integrity. NOT how to do good business. read more
