Called Midas on 03/25/2025 asked what it would cost to put front air shocks on 2017 Mercedes GLS 450 and was told that it would be around $300 to $400 because I had my own parts. They told me if I wanted they could get me in the next day if I brought it in early in the morning. I told them that I could do that and I brought my vehicle in that night and at 08:00am that next morning I brought the keys and gave it too the new shop manager. He asked did I have an appointment and I told him I called yesterday and spoked to a rep. who told me to bring it in this morning. The manger didn't find the appointment (my first red flag) but said he can get the job done just leave the keys. Midas called me at 2:08pm saying my vehicle was done and I could pick it up anytime. I went to pick up my vehicle at 5:38pm when my wife was off work and went in to pay for the service and get my keys, the shop manager ask how would I be paying debit, credit, etc., I told him debit and he said input your card into the reader, I was about to do that when I saw that the price for the service was $1105.68, I told him I was told that the service would be about $300 to $400 by the person I talked to and he said the job called for 4.2hrs labor and they charge $190 hr for labor plus the added wheel alignment, I told him that I was not told that and if I was other shops would have done it cheaper or I would have done it myself, but other shops had a longer wait time to get me in and the person I talked too told me a different price. The manager and I got into an argument about labor charges because no shop charges that much, even doctors don't charge that much. I even had him look up my Audi S5 that they put on a entire new exhaust on ( I bought my own parts for this also) and labor didn't cost that much, he pulled it up and he was smiling saying we charged you $240.00 for that job, I said right but, it took you 3 days to do it and that's all the labor you charged for 3 days work. He then gave me some credit for labor and took off the alignment and the final cost was $825.68 (still too much for having your own parts), beware of this place and the new manager, get your quote in writing before letting them work on your car. read more

They gave my car keys to a client who lived out of the city. I was dropped off to pick up my vehicle so I had no ride back home. They didn't even offer me a ride and I had to walk home in 90 degree weather. They were so rude and unapologetic for THEIR mistake. When they finally got my keys back I went to get my vehicle they lost my paperwork and didn't know how much to charge me. I told them to just bill me and went to leave. The owners wife blocked my vehicle in with hers so I couldn't leave. After 30 minutes they found my paperwork, I paid and I will NEVER give them any business again. UNPROFESSIONAL!!! read more

My car needed a brake repair and the part took 6 days to arrive. I had to get a rental it was only supposed to be for a day. No one called to tell me the car wasnt ready the next day so I dropped the rental off and took a Lyft to Midas. I had to get a Lyft back to the airport to go the rental back because they didn't get the part. The 5th day they had my car and second time they said my car would be ready it wasn't so glad that time I didn't take the rental back. I checked on my car after hours to make sure it was okay. My sister took her car here about 4 months ago for knocking and grinding in the front end. It was $400 to get it fixed. Sound persisted so she returned to Midas and was charged an additional $700 to fix the SAME problem. Worse, my sister asked about the high cost considering it was already supposed to be fixed. She's a single mother who can't afford to pay twice for the same problem. Mark told her that the first time he fixed other issues not the knocking and grinding, which is what she took the car in for. When my sis went to pay, her card was declined. Hot and embarassed, she called me. On my way to Midas with my credit card, my sister called me again and was crying in her car. She went out to sit in her air-conditioned car to wait for me and when she did Mark had his wife rush out and use her car to block my sister in. They accused her of trying to run out on the bill. How could she do that when you have her address, her license plate number, and her phone number. It was so fucking unprofessional. When I arrived I was pissed and told Mark it was false imprisonment and to have his wife move her car. She came in and was a total bitch. She started recording me because I was recording the interaction. I have the video if corporate would like to see it. We will NEVER return to this place and I'm telling all my friends and followers to avoid Midas as well. Total shit show. read more

My car had a strong distinct gas smell. I took it in 1/31/23. They replaced the fuel line hose. Even after the hose was changed, I could still smell the gas. I thought it was residual and would go away. It didn't. I took it back 3/20/23 because the hose was leaking, I could still smell gas, and I had spots/leaks on the ground under my car. They put on a new hose. I drove it home and it immediately started leaking. I took it back one last time on 3/2123. And they said the diameter of the hose was wrong. So they put on another hose. Still leaked. Finally fed up I decided to take it to another repair shop. Never using Midas again. read more

I've been contemplating writing this for years, I'm still VERY peeved at this place. Took my truck in for squeaky breaks, didn't want to mess with it again, since I have already changed my rotors 2 years prior and hubs 3 years prior also. I figured it would be a simple fix. was told my rotors were bad and my circulating pump was going...OK maybe, I thought, it could be possible. So I said fix it too. Bad idea; after driving my truck once the brakes still squeaked. Took it back and was told the rotors they installed were defective and they replaced them again. After this, my brakes didn't squeak but my ABS system would kick off just driving down the road!! Not braking at all and the pedals would vibrate like I was sliding around on ice in mid July. Took it back a second time and was told my hubs were causing it to activate. I don't know what these kids did to my truck while removing and installing parts but they caused more HARM than did any good. I never got to see my old parts to verify their integrity over at Midas on 10th Ave S. and 9th St., but I should have demanded it. My mistake, don't make it yours. I will never recommend this place and I will adamantly protest anyone I care about taking their vehicle to this place. read more

We were driving through town on a road trip when our car started making an odd noise. We suspected the brakes so we stopped at Midas to have them checked. They had the car up on the rack within 10 minutes and within 45 mins we had the good news that the brakes were fine and the noise was just caused by dust/dirt. We walked in thinking there was something really wrong with our truck after we spun out on the highway. Mark looked at it on Saturday afternoon for us, cleaned our tires out of snow free of charge and sent us on our way. BEWARE: PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING MIDAS IN GREAT FALLS I took my vehicle in b/c I was smelling gas from my a/c. The first call I got I was told my fuel injector had a very small leak & it would be 250$ to fix. 2nd phone call Jim the mechanic informed me now I had a cracked fuel line 893$ to fix. About 1100$ to fix both parts. I got a 2nd opinion & decided to have my vehicle TOWED *I drove it there* to another mechanic (GEAR GRABBERS.320 2ND AVE S.406-315-1970 CALL THESE GUYS INSTEAD).The tow co. showed up at 8am to pick up my rig & was informed by Mike that I owed him 358$ before he would release it I called to find out what I owed him money for. He said he had already fixed my fuel injector & that I had to pay him 10% of the cost of the fuel line to restock it.I needed my vehicle out of that place so I paid it. After I paid it Mike told the tow driver he needed an hour to put my vehicle back together. He finally released my car at 2pm. Then I found out it was the mechanic at Midas who cracked my fuel line trying to get to the injector. You could see on the fuel line where he was prying up. Gear Grabbers found a used one. Part+Labor+Cost to have it towed 276$ @ Gear Grabbers or 1100$ at Midas. MIDAS IS DISGRACEFUL & CANNOT BE TRUSTED.. read more

This place is probably the best place in town. I have been going there since 2001 and would not even consider going anywhere else unless I could do it myself. Mark treats me very well and is VERY honest. If he quotes me a price I can tell you it is an honest estimate and there is nothing hidden or shady about it. My shifter just broke and Bison told him it was a $1200 fix. Well he did a little research and got it done for $320. I wont go anywhere else! read more

My car started making a noise recently and I heard that Midas will diagnose your vehicle and tell you what they find, what you should fix soon, and what can wait. So I took my car in and spoke with Mark. My car is a 1998, and it's got 171,000 miles on it. I was very pleased when Mark came in and said the only thing they found wrong, was my alternator! Honestly, since my car is so old, I really expected them to tell me there was bunch of things wrong. Although fixing my car is outrageously expensive for me right now, I expected it to be costly anywhere I went, they gained my trust by not dreaming up a list of things for me to have to fix. Midas told me I needed my serpentine belt replaced. Only after replacing it did it start to cause issues. When I brought it back they only threw more parts at it and then charged me more money. While they were working on that I asked them to check out my AC that wasn't cooling. They told me the only thing they could find wrong was it needed charged, which they did and gladly charged me more for. After four hours and nearly $400 dollars of repairs, my belt still squeaks and my AC still doesn't cool. read more

Terrible service. Put 2 new tires on. Couple weeks later heard a noise in right front of car. Took back to have them look at it. They said it was rear passenger wheel bearing. Had fixed. The noise not only wasn't fixed it was worse. Took back. Said it needed driver rear because it was over compensating. Had fixed. Made it worse. Took back. Told it was transmission and they can't fix it. Took car to transmission shop and was told that because of the mis matched tires that Midas put on the ptu went out. Transmission shop said ANY reputable tire shop would of know not to put mis matched tires on an awd vehicle. I will never do business there again. read more

Horrible Customer Service While on a family trip from Colorado in late November 2015 we had issues with the heater not working. Brought the car to Midas and they replaced the thermostat. All was working well until 4 months later we started to have issues with the car heating up and the heater working intermittingly. I called the Midas shop in Great Falls where the work was performed and was told it was out of warranty. I then took the car to our local mechanic where it was found that an air bubble was causing the problems. Our mechanic "burped" the system and added 1 gallon of coolant and the car is working perfectly. His conclusion was the air bubble was in the system because of incorrect workmanship. I called Midas and spoke with Mark telling him the problem and because it was caused by incorrect workmanship would they be willing to reimburse me the $114.00 I had to pay to correct the problem. Mark said he would talk to Randy, the owner, but because it was out of warranty there probably would be nothing they could do. After a few more calls to Mark with nothing being done Randy eventually called, and brought up the warranty issue. I told them it was not a warranty issue but incorrect workmanship. They were negligent in not making sure that the air bubble was removed. I gave him the phone number of my mechanic who offered to talk to Randy and let him know what the problem was, Randy chose not to speak to him. I called the next day to ask Randy if we could work out something and he said he talked to other mechanics and didn't believe it was caused by them replacing the thermostat. I then said I was going to file a complaint with the BBB and he hung up on me!! read more
