Went in for an alignment. They told me it needed control arms replaced and quoted about $1,000 for parts and labor. Honestly not totally unreasonable for the job at today's rates. However, this is a job I can do myself to save a few hundred dollars, so I decided to do that. Once I had the parts and got ready to get started, I got the car up on stands...and discovered that the control arms are absolutely fine. No excess movement at all in the wheels, no play in the bushings. I even stuck my pry bar between the subframe and control arm right next to the bushings and tried to force them to shift out of place, nothing. Rock solid and no signs of deterioration on any bushing. Took it to Firestone and asked for an alignment, they came back in about 45 minutes with the report showing it was indeed slightly out of alignment... all fixed and resolved. Seems like just another predatory shop hoping for customers without any auto experience/knowledge they can upsell parts and services to. Watch out if you go in for routine services and suddenly find out your car apparently needs expensive repairs! read more

I don't know what they did but my brakes locked and I'm stuck on the side of the road. They broke my caliper, I will call them in the morning. We are on a road trip in a car that tends to use oil quickly, so after lunch we decided to visit a convenient midas. Why midas? We got a midas oil change about 1100 miles ago and wanted someone from the same company to check the oil. For free; they dedicated 3 mechanics, performed a thorough inspection, added 2 quarts of oil, and explained a whole lot. Bonus: These guys have a great sense of humor. Needless to say they exceeded our expectations. 5 stars - as good as it gets. :) read more

The best place in Fort Smith for auto repair and service, reasonable prices, friendly staff. The manager and co-owner was formally at my old shop, which is no longer open. They offer a full line of service, expanded from the manager, Mike Bolton's old shop. They even will give you a lift home and a ride back when finish. When I got my car back I had a sticker in it that said my carpet that said "we take pride in your vehicle" and they left trash in my car, I had a blender bottle with a shake in the front I had forgotten fully screwed together and they had spilled it all over the place and they charged me literally 3x the amount they originally said they would to align my tires. This is the worst business you could ever go to get your stuff done they are a fuckin joke. read more

In past few months i have had two bad experiences with Midas I first took my truck to them for new brakes A week later I noticed one of the lug nuts was missing I called the store back and discussed with their Rep. He said I must have lost it as they always check before the vehicle leaves store. Last week took truck to them as it was making a noise. BEWARE!! Do not use this place! Very dishonest!!!! Will likely diagnose something completely different than what you brought it in for originally. They told us it was 100% not the transmission and tells us it's the wheel bearings. Take it in to have wheel bearings fixed, then they say it's actually the motor mounts. Have motor mounts fixed for $700 and the van continues to have to same problems. We went back to them and the mechanic drives around with my husband in the van, THEN he tells us it's the transmission. The manager, TJ, basically puts it back on us and doesn't even offer us an apology. I hope this helps someone else avoid the same problem we encountered. I wish I could give them no stars. read more

Awful. So bad I actually downloaded an app JUST to write this review! I called two days ago to make sure they have nitrogen for tires, and the answer was yes. Then I proceeded to tell them that the alert light in my car was on saying there was something wrong with my left rear tire. I asked them if they could check for a leak and top it off, Kevin told me they could and to come in. I arrived ten minutes later and handed them the keys. I reiterated to Kevin about the alert light on for my drivers side rear tire, asked him to check it and put nitrogen in. 15 minutes later they told me my car was ready to go. I paid the $15.00 fee with cash and left. The next day the light was back on, SO, trusting that the folks at Midas had done their job, I took it to the Honda dealer to check it out. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when they told me I had a SCREW in my side wall! I called another tire company who promptly ordered a tire for me then I called Midas to voice my disappointment. I spoke with the manager and asked for a refund, he put me on hold then put Kevin on the phone. Kevin then told me that I didn't convey I was worried about a leak. I explained that I had conveyed it TWICE, once on the phone and once right in front of him. He then had the audacity to start yelling at me! He said the message wasn't conveyed to him and he didn't pass it along to the technician. I told him again that I said it twice and that I didn't believe he didn't remember me talking about the alert light, and that I thought there was a leak. He continued yelling and at that point I got really offended and angry that he was arguing over something that dangerous. I hung up the phone right then. I have a feeling he started yelling because he realized he didn't do his job, and didn't want to look like an ass in front of his boss. That said, DO NOT use this business. They won't listen to your concerns, won't make it right, and to add insult to injury, they'll yell at you! Completely in professional, rude and of poor quality. read more
