This is a review for the Midas on Pierson and Linden Rd but involves Midas Grand Blanc as well. Originally I was going to leave a 5 star, as the staff had been wonderful up until the point that Blake from Grand Blanc started chiming in. I brought my vehicle in due to my abs/traction control/brake dash lights all coming on as I was driving home to Flint from Saginaw. When bringing the vehicle in I asked for a full inspection, as it is under warranty and I desired to fix as many issues as possible with the one trip. The agreed upon services were completed and I picked up my vehicle very happy with my experience. Upon driving it out of the parking lot, I noticed my traction control light still on. It was late in the evening, therefore I opted to drive it to work and back the next day. The light remained on, therefore I gave Midas a call back and explained the situation. This is where Blake comes into the picture. He stated he was filling in from the Grand Blanc store and that I could bring it in and they would take a look. I did just that. I then receive a phone call and quote from Blake that states the issue is back wheel bearings. Blake stated it did not come up on the original inspect just a couple days prior. He also stated that my dash lights were never on to begin with, because he has a picture that was taken with no dash lights on at all. We went back and forth on this and he stuck to his guns and displayed his first bout of unprofessionalism. He then called around noon and stated all was submitted and accepted by the warranty company and they were hoping to have the vehicle complete by end of business that day. An hour before the store closes, Blake calls again with what he opened the phone call with as bad news. He now is stating that he read the quote wrong from the warranty company and they are not paying what the shop is asking, so I will now have to pay the difference plus the $100 deductible again. He says he had been going back and forth with the company for several hours. Obviously I became irate because I was literally told all was well 5 hours prior. When expressing my concern and extreme dissatisfaction with Blake, he reverted back to the dash light picture and washed his hands of everything stating it was not on them and if they did the work, the shop would not make any money. I did speak out of line and said some words that should not have been said, out of anger. Blake chose to throw my keys at me across the counter and walked away. Very unprofessional and deceitful. This Midas had my 5 star rating until BLAKE FROM GRAND BLANC does not know how to be professional or have any customer service skills whatsoever. BBB complaint filed. read more

I went there with a nail in my tire. They told me that they couldn't patch it because the nail wasn't in the center of the tire. They said I would not only have to replace the tire but the other 3 tires too because the car is all wheel drive. They gave me an outrageous estimate. I left and went to their competitor down the street where they patched the tire for free and sent me on my way. The tire has been fine since then. Midas is a scam. read more

Found me a bad apple at the front counter. Not only did I have over $1000 worth of brake work done to the car in 2021, but in going back to "Said Rep" with my Car FAXX receipt, she said I never had the work done. So, I am a liar????? Found my paperwork in the truck!!!!! In the end, this representative apologized. That was nice . She told me to mention I had work done At different Midas. With the invoice in the truck and 2 years ago and on 30,000 miles added on car since first brake service before the repair, that paper work was needed because your systems doesnt keep records from another store. I did not Know this I was also told that Car Faxx records I showed her were an estimate?? I guess I am a cheating customer of 5 cars brought to this business. Key facts.... Never lead the customer to believe he is wrong in where he spent his money. This representative did feel bad and then apologized. That was comforting because I was no where near pleased with this treatment. This store was short staffed and I took my records to the exact Midas shop I got work done and was greeted with a smile. I had 2 tires that I purchased online installed at this Midas store. They inspected my other tires & informed me that they also needed replacing. Both had cords showing on the inboard edge which I could not see with the vehicle on the ground. They saved me from having a blowout. While I was in the shop I noticed an employee carefully cleaning the bead area on a rim before installing a tire. I'd never seen this at a nationally advertised tire store where I have purchased tires many times. I purchased 2 more tires online and had them installed at this Midas. Unlike my experiences with the nationally advertised tire store, my wheels were not damaged and I've had no leaks at the rims. read more

Had an 1hour 30 minute wait for an oil change, they removed my tires, and never reset my oil gauge i ended up having to do it myself.

Never will I go here again. First time here and it took them an hour to look at my muffler after the car was already in the garage. They then told me I needed a new muffler and two pipes. Little did they know I had just bought the car and saw it on a hoist the week before and my mechanic pointed out the hole to me and I saw the perfectly good muffler. They wanted $350 for the muffler and parts&labor. And proceeded to tell me I needed $980 worth of repairs. This place is a joke. I ended up taking it to Muffler man on Davison rd and paid $45 to fix my muffler. read more

Taken all of my cars here and never had an issue. We only get oil changes and tire rotates but they seem honest and fair. If I needed more I would come here. Love the staff too. read more

I went to the Grand Blanc store for tires and the person at the counter was rude, the waiting area was filthy and they couldn't supply me with valve stem caps because all of theirs were stolen! Oh, and they marked up my wheels. Placing a complaint was a terrible experience from placing a complaint to dealing with the district manager. I will never go to another Midas again. You're better off going to Belle Tire down the road. read more

Stay away from this place at any and all costs, they are running a complete scandalous operation here. I had my car towed there on a Saturday night after it broke down. Monday morning, I talked to Roger on the phone, and he told me that the tires are getting pretty bad (Which they are). Then he called back and said, "Thank God we didn't put the tires on your car, because there is an internal issue with the alternator, and your car could blow up at any time" so with battery, alternator, installation, and labor, it was going to be $923. (This is a classic baiting trick, scammers use to rip people off) After questioning Roger about the insanely high price, he kept stuttering as he was having a very difficult time trying to explain what he meant by an internal issue with the alternator. I noticed he was feeling very uneasy as I continued questioning him as he could not seem to keep his lies straight. Or perhaps he has been ripping people off so much and for so long now and he is so used to just getting away with it, with no questions asked. I eventually told Roger to just forget it, just push my car out of there, I'm going to take it somewhere else. He then informed me that a new battery has already been put in there. So, I paid for the battery, and I drove the car out of the Midas parking lot with no problem. The next day, I took my car to two different places to have the alternator checked, and both places told me it was just fine, there was no internal issues or any issues with the alternator whatsoever. A few days later, I returned to Midas to confront Roger, and I was met with more lies and deceit. He first tried to act like he had no idea what I was talking about, then I asked him to explain why he tried to charge me over 700 dollars for an alternator that did not even need to be fixed. He kept insisting that his records indicated a high reading for the alternator. He proceeded to show me the number it was reading, which was in the normal range for alternator readings. After realizing that this guy is going to just keep lying and not take accountability for what he just did. I stormed out of there and informed everybody in the waiting room to not come back to this place because they will rip you off. Since then, I have filed complaints with corporate and I was told the district manager will be contacting me shortly to address the issue. But still to this day, no manager, no supervisor, no district manager has even tried to contact me regarding any issue. So, I'm guessing they have every intention of allowing their employees to rip us off. Stay away from this place at ALL COSTS!! I posted this issue on my Facebook page, and I had two other people mention that this Midas tried to rip them off hundreds of dollars as well!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Well, they put new breaks on and my traction control light and stabilizer warnings came on the next day. Took it back and they said "we can't replicate the warning, so, sorry there is nothing we can do". Well, you broke something, so sorry we will never be coming back. Be advised if you decide to go there and be prepared to leave with different issues that you didn't start with. read more

I don't live in the area but I now work in the area so I decided to go out at lunch to get an oil change. While looking for a place to go I called a couple stores who either were too busy to do oil changes because they had other priorities or they were way over priced. I stopped at Midas the moment I walked in was greeted and a few minutes later I was being helped and the technician who was taking care of me understood I was on my lunch break and made my oil change a priority got me in and out quickly. Customer service was excellent I will definitely go back. read more

Midas on S. Saginaw in Grand Blanc, MI is the best place I have ever gone to for my car. Not only are the oil changes quick and reasonable, the staff is very courteous and informative. They will go out of their way to explain things and tell you what you need right away and what you can wait on. Since I drive an older car, on a limited budget, that is wonderful. I took my 2001 Chevy Impala to Midas because my low coolant light came on. My car was serviced by the employee at the shop. I was told, my car had no leaks, and what could be causing my light to come on is a sensor. So I agreed to a new sensor since I was told this would solve my problem. I also was told I need a radiator cap, and coolant flush. I agreed since I was told this would solve my problem. So after I paid $307.51 for the repair about one day later when I step on the gas my car would hesitate. About one week later my car began to overheat, and I could barely drive the vehicle. So on 12/31/2013 I took my car back to Midas and was serviced by the same Tech. The tech told me I had aid in my hose this was causing the problem not allowing the coolant to flow. I have not had this problem until Midas changed my coolant. The mechanic said my car should be fine, so I took my car home, and on 1/1/2014 my car once again overheated, and the heater would blow out cold air. So on 1/2/2014 I took my car back to Midas, and once again the same mechanic serviced my car. The mechanic serviced my car in the garage and told my he's unable to reproduce the problem. He also told my new radiator was a defect (leaking) so he replaced the radiator cap with a new one. After about 1 hour I was told my problem was fixed. About 20 minutes driving South on I-75 to work, my lo coolant light came back on telling me my coolant was low. The mechanic told me the first time I had my car serviced I had no leaks, and the sensor was faulty. Now the new sensor ($137) is doing the same thing like before. After taking my car to Midas my coolant systems has had nothing but problems, my car never overheated until I had my car serviced by them. The new Sensor in my car still doesn't work, and the new radiator cap had to be replaced. My car coolant system still has problem, and have not been fixed. read more
