Like most people, I can assume, I am very skeptical of mechanics. I was recommended by friend so I decided what the heck? I need a lot of work on my car. I call them to see if I needed an appointment and asked how much it was to get a quote/have it looked at. He said bring it in and I won't charge you. Well that's good! I get there and they are unbelievably nice. They take my car back, check it out, and write a quote. What blew my mind was that the mechanic (I wish I remembered his name!) took be back and showed me what was going on. I've never had anyone do that before! They also got it done that night!! They stayed open two hours late for me! If that's not outstanding service I don't know what is. I needed a lot of work so yes it was expensive, but do I feel ripped off?? Absolutely not. Do I feel safe driving my car? Yes. This place is incredible and I recommend it to anyone. read more

Bought new tires, front end alignment and TPMS sensor. They couldn't get the TPMS sensors to work because they had greatly overinflated the tires (should be 32, was inflated to over 40). Another tire shop figured out the problem in 5 minutes. Midas refused my request for a refund on the labor despite the fact they couldn't get it to work. Their technicians are INCOMPETENT. read more

Midas is a scam shop. the employees are on drugs or something because I got lied to about needing struts on 8/28/2021 and the employees were so greedy they forgot they Even gave me a service report 11 days earlier that said my struts were good. Midas 601 at 2900 s. dixie is the place that ripped me off and the employees lie a lot. I would never suggest going to any Midas auto shop because the employees there lie at all shops just to get commission money. the more ripoffs, the more commission money tk buy drugs or whatever they need money so bad for. and a guy named Ian Katz helps run Midas's scams by being I. cahoots with Midas employees lies. I showed him the service report that said I didn't need struts and he said tough luck, we just got you this time in so many words. Ian katz actuslly perjured himself in a court proceeding I took Midas to court on. Ian katz is nothing but a mizer,lyer and will take lies to his grave to keep from telling the truth. folks do yourself and family a favor. don't ever do business with any Midas's anywhere. Midas took $953 from me and on top of this forged my name to do business 11 days earlier before ripping me off saying I needed to replace struts to stop noise in my front right tire. the truth is I got another mechanic to put sway bar links and bushings on my car which stopped the noise immediatel. Do not use the Midas on Dorothy Lane close to woodman. I think they saw an elderly lady walk in and say let's get her. My car overheated and I towed it to Midas. They fixed it they said. The next day my coolant was gone left a puddle in the garage drove up there and they said well we fixed what needed to be fixed it's probably the cap or the container we can order that and it'll be fine. But you're okay to drive. I drove a little while the coolant was gone go to AutoZone bought large containers of coolant drove for a few days and kept putting coolant in it until I could get it into my mechanic. I took it back to Midas and they did a pressure test to see if there was any holes in the hose they said no it's probably the cap for $100 or the container for $400 and we can order them for you. I just left. I took it to my mechanic when I could get in and he found a hole in the hose close to where they would have tightened the metal connector. I think they owe me money that I had to pay for my mechanic to find the hole in the hose but they will not do anything.. I will take them to small claims court. read more

I paid almost $800 to have them install a new brake booster on my Ford Edge last week. I had to take it back that same day because my rear brake lights kept coming on while my car was parked. They said they fixed the problem. They didn't. I took it back again. They said they fixed it. They didn't. I called this past Saturday morning when I woke up to a dead battery because my brake lights had come on again while I was sleeping and the manager said bring it up and we'll fix it right this time. I dropped it off at 11 am. At 3 pm I hadn't heard anything so I called up there. They told me they hadn't touched it and didn't have time to. Once again I was furious. I didn't want it sitting there all weekend so I had a friend take me to pick it up. Of course the battery was dead again because it sat there with the brake lights on all day. They jumped it and I drove it home. I'm trying again on Monday morning and they BETTER FIX IT CORRECTLY THIS TIME!!!!!!!! Instead of fixing it today they RUINED IT!!!!!! It almost blew up on the way home. And they said they didn't cause it! They did cause it because it drove fine this morning when I dropped it off. Now it won't go over 20 mph and smelled like an electrical fire. My car was PERFECT and now it's ruined. They said there's a major computer problem but they're unable to fix it so it has to go to a dealer. Oh and they also said I needed to spend $200 more today to replace the brake switch and then told me later it didn't need that it's all a computer issue. Oh and Midas I already emailed you at your link yesterday so apparently you haven't seen that. I'll be calling your corporate office tomorrow and I'm suing you. You charged me $800 to RUIN my car. never go to midas on dixie ave for tire repair. they told me tire couldn't be fixed. got a new tire for $109. guy didn't put air in it. had 26 pounds of air in it. went next day got air. drove on the freeway to centerville for lunch. came out tire had 3 pounds of air in it. a brand new tire. thank god that he was protecting me. i could have been in a wreck and die. how could the mechanic not tighten down the valve stem. how can you not do your freaking job. read more

Had an oil change done today and I was in and out in no time! Was greeted at the counter with a smile and I think his name was Vince, he was awesome and so nice. When my car was done he thoroughly explained everything and answered all questions I had. He didn't just want to take my money and rush me out the door, he actually was very informative on the issues they found with my car and went over it all so I understood it. Went in for oil change - only! Staff was polite and got me in quickly for my schedule appointment. After/during oil change, an unsolicited "inspection" of the brakes was completed by removing each of the wheels. I was approached by mechanic who told me I needed $750.00 in brake work. Although, I was aware that my brakes were in need of replacement, I passed on the offer. I just wanted my oil changed. 200 miles later, while loaded down with my family and pulling a large boat, I started hearing a noise in the left front of my truck. I pulled over and found that each and every lug nut of the left front wheel was finger tight and the wheel was on its way off!. The lug nuts on each of the other wheels were tight. I was able to get the truck jacked up and get the wheel secured again. Fortunately, no damage. When I returned home, I contacted the Midas store manager. Although the manager was polite, I felt like he was blaming me for the incident. After I explained the near tragic event, he asked me if I had returned to the Midas store after 50 miles to have the lug nuts re-torqued. I told him that I did not as I had no idea I needed to do that, nor did anyone ever mention the need for that. The manager explained that information is listed on the paperwork I received. I examined the paperwork and sure enough on page 5 of 9, in the middle of the $750 brake estimate (that I did not ask for) was an inconspicuous notation stating that the lug nuts should be rechecked after 50 miles. My complaint is ...I just wanted an oil change! That's it. No more. No less. If I wanted a vehicle "inspection", i would ask for one. The fact that the mechanic removed the wheels (without being asked) and clearly did not properly reinstall one of the wheels, nearly cost me, my family and potentially someone else our lives. This is unacceptable. I will not return to a Midas store nor would I recommend Midas services. read more

I would give them no stars if allowed. This is the worse place possible to take your car. There is a lady here that's been here since 11am. It's closing time now and they haven't told her anything but she needs a new line. Workers going in and out of the bays with lit cigarettes. Plus not wearing a mask. Stay away from the Midas on Dorothy Lane!! They are a bunch of lying ass crooks that can't seem to be competent enough to do their damn job!!! My car broke down on the side of the road and had to have it towed all the way there for them to refuse to look at my car! I spent all day Friday hounding them to look at it for them to lie to me and claim that they worked on it but can't fix the problem not once did they actually examine my car or pull it in the garage!! They also kept leaving my car unlocked for anyone to get into and didn't bother to verify whether or not I was the owner of the car just grabbed my keys out of a desk drawer and handed them over without question! I will never take my car there again and I strongly encourage anyone else that goes there to take their business else where because that company doesn't give two shits about their customers. This Midas is terrible. They mailed out a free oil change coupon and turned it into a $69.99 diagnostic which was totally unnecessary and for the most part free with oil changes from other mechanics...and at the end, they didn't even notice a burned out headlamp. Was a total waste of money but we're not stopping payment because we did sign for it by mistake. Even though they did not point out the fee and later said they did, we're taking more responsibility than Midas ever would. All they do is over-charge and offer excuses. So whatever their warmed-over reply is to this complaint, take your business elsewhere. read more

Charged me $423 for an alternator. Derek, the manager told me he called auto zone and matched their price, which was $20 cheaper than his warehouse price. I told him to go ahead with the work, since i was in a rush and they were willing to do it in a day. I then checked with auto zone online and found their most expensive was $211 for a Duralast alternator. I called Derek to ask about the price, and he said that was the price auto zone gave him when he called, and it was for an AC Delco part. I called auto zone myself and they verified that the $211 Duralast part was their most expensive for my truck, and that Delco doesn't even make parts for Ford. They were able to get my truck done in a day, but don't take it in for repairs unless you want to pay twice as much for parts, and be lied to throughout the process. read more

Take this review with a grain of salt ... because I'm truly stupid... that is specifically because I've gone back there for more. Most recently one of my four older vehicles was unable to start. It failed in a parking lot about a quarter mile from this Midas "Auto Service Experts" shop. So stupid me thinks to take it there. I must admit I should have known better form past experiences. This time the job was to replace a failed starter. The result was a car that started three times, during the ride home (after the third start) a "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light lit. and in my driveway at home it would no longer start. What I found was that the cable connected to the battery was only loosely attached (AT BOTH ENDS) both leads loose at the battery and the red one loose at the starter too. When I reached my hand up under the motor to try to hot-wire the new starter (so it didn't have to be towed to them again) I found that the red lead to the starter was loose. Of course after wiggling it the car started... and I drove it back there to have the cables tightened. Oh, by the way after it started the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" dash light was not on. There is an engine sensor right next to the starter that I'll bet was reconnected when I pushed my hand up there. So on my way home from the re-repair ... the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light came on again. Gomer and Goober at it again. Man, do I feel like a dumb-f_uck for going back there again. They did try to make me feel better by telling me that the guy who installed the starter (without bothering to tighten the wires) was fired. Like I care. The first time this car was in their shop, I needed the whole exhaust system replaced. They had the whole system (end to end) to do. When they gave it back to me, within two days it got LOUD. What I found was that they had installed the wrong muffler and it didn't fit the pipes in front and behind it. But they "fixed" that bu stuffing muffler putty into the gap between the pipe interfaces... which of course blew out. The second time they put the right size muffler on. One day I will yelp about what they did to one of my other cars. read more

This is without a doubt the worst shop I have ever been to. They say whatever you want to hear and are INCREDIBLY slow. I sat in the waiting area for THREE hours so I could have them replace two tires when one of them blew out. I sat there watching them sit around doing NOTHING but throwing trash at a trash can for around an hour. When I asked how much longer it would be the manager told me "I have to realign my [whatever the thing is they use to mount tires]" but he couldn't even answer my question. He stood in the garage are talking with the other guys the whole time so everyone that showed up while I was there had to wait for him to see them. At lest dozen people came and went complaining they forgot to do stuff to their car or fix some of the things they pid them for when they were in there earlier. One lady said this Midas had her car for a WEEK and they still forgot to patch one of her tires!!! I spent $300 dollars at that place and it took them THREE hours to change my tires. What a joke!!! I complained and they acted like it couldn't be helped!!! I can't emphasize enough how horrible their service is!!! read more

My truck had the blower motor and blower motor resistor replaced, the next day I was driving truck and the lower part of my dash where they did the repair was hanging down broken by their repairs. I went the next day to Stacy the Manager at the store and showed him the damages he said he would fix the part they broke. The day after that Im told by District Manager David Banks that they fired Stacy. David Banks told me to take vehicle back again and have him look at it? Why when the other Manager already saw the damage, Ill tell u why so he could begin his denial of repairing damages to my truck dash. He actually lied to BBB saying next time Im in town Id go to the Midas store, I live in the same town and also have rental properties in the same town which he knows of. When I told him Im sick of tge runaround hes giving me he told me to SUE Midas, I will never go to Midas again and I tell all my friends how David Banks treats the customers at stores he manages. read more

I got my oil changed today. I was quoted a 45 minute wait which was extremely accurate (my alarm went off when I was signing the paperwork). My paperwork indicates my tires left their shop at 32psi http://m.imgur.com/EXMTyFe But my pressure indicator light was still on. http://m.imgur.com/2tZc6ca So I bought a digital pressure gauge, and my results: 2 tires at 25.5, 1 at 26 and 1 at 27. I was told to come in and they'd fill them up but it would cost me more in gas to go get free air over stopping at a gas station and paying .75 to fill them. They can't bother to do the job correctly the first time, why go out of my way? I don't see myself going back to this location. Time to find a new one! read more

For some reason, I visited this location again even though I'm fully aware of what a frustrating business it can be. Every time I leave, I shake my head in frustration for one reason or another. Despite having scheduled an appointment for an oil change at the earliest possible time, I arrived to find out the mechanic hadn't yet shown up to work. After inquiring how long it would take for my oil change to be complete (I was informed that it'd be over an hour...literally no oil change in my life has taken this long. There was one customer at the shop with me), I waited in the lobby. 30 minutes later the mechanic showed up. My total wait time was over an hour which, although it ended up being the estimated time, was completely ridiculous; again, there was one customer ahead of me. I could tell the "inspection" they did was half-assed, and clearly they just checked off boxes on their form just,to get through it. I fell to the temptation of convenience yet again; this location is decently close to my home and a grocery store. I felt I could complete my grocery run easily afterward if I visited this Midas. I plan to not allow that cloud my judgement. Save yourself some trouble and go to literally any other place for your car needs. read more

I have gone to this midas on numerous occasions and been disappointed every time with speed of service (even with appointment) today however was the worst and my last visit. I made an appointment 2 days ago. I asked for 10 am and they offered 11am, I said ok. I arrived at 11 and was not greeted until 11:20. I asked how long my oil change would take and was told 45minutes to an hour. (It should be noted that oil changed shouldn't take longer than 20-30 minutes once started) I said ok and walked to a restaurant next door to kill time. I returned 40 minutes later at 12:00. They had not even brought my car in yet. 5 minutes after I returned they finally took my car in. At 12:45 the manager Derek tried to sell me tires and an air filter. At 1:00, 2 hours after arriving for my SCHEDULED oil change I was finally leaving. As I said that will be my last visit. I should mention my husband quit goo g there after 2 separate issues with Derek (the manager) to which the district manager had to step in and fix the issues and on both occasions my husband was given free oil changes because of said issues. However the last time my husband took his car there they stripped the bolts on his oil pan and it can now not be removed. He was told by another mechanic it would be a $300 fix. Save yourself the time, hassle, and money and go to literally any other mechanic. read more

About three weeks ago my girlfriend took her trusty 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe to Midas Muffler and Brakes for a SIMPLE...ROUTINE, oil change. I have never taken any of my vehicles to them for anything, as I have only heard horror stories about their practices. Practice is a good word for what these folks do to vehicles, at the owners expense, of course. She initially dropped into the Dorothy Ln. location where they claimed that it would be a 5 hour wait (interestingly enough, there were 3 open bays, one in use, and the always present, fleet of Stanley Steamer vehicles they house(and most likely service). As they were "overwhelmed", my girlfriend decided to try the Airway Rd. location. Arriving there, the attendant listened to her story of her experience at the previous location, scratching his head. "If they're that busy there, we could've sent them one of our mechanics"(exact quote). He then offered to not only perform the oil change, but offered it a NO CHARGE!... Unexpected, to say the least. During the oil change process, my girlfriend witnessed oneof the 2 mechanics on duty, leave the shop, to go to a shop in the strip, never to return. The remaining mechanic who was servicing her vehicle, stepped out of the shop on 3 separate occasions to talk on his cell phone. Inevitably, the car was finished and ready to go..with "fresh new oil", or so she thought. This was April twelfth...11 days and over 400 miles later, the engine started laboring and sounding rough(for lack of a better term). She happened to be right by the Dorothy Ln. location, pulled in and asked a mech. to take a look..only to find that there was ABSOLUTELY zero oil in the vehicle! No obvious signs of leaking or burning at all. I walked over to the shop, as it is a stones throw away from my job. Just before my arrival, the mechanic there brought out a pitcher of recycled oil containing 4.5 quarts, and put it in the vehicle. Started the vehicle momentarily, and could hear the agonizing sound of pistons scraping cylinder wall. This was on Saturday May 12th, as previosly mentioned. That aafternoon the District manager was contacted, and brought up to speed on the situation. Whilst speaking to my girlfriend, he made it a point to mention that a group of lawyers owned all of the franchises in the area, and that he would be willing to meet with her on Monday morning at 8 am, to view the shop video, except for the portions that showed anyone who wasn't a Midas employee, and that was the" Best we were going to get". At this point I start to seriously question the intent, and overall integrity of this operation. In my mind, I would think the company would be on the damage control path....the one where they inspect there previous work, not through a camera lens, but an ACTUAL physical inspection! This never happened. And, unbeknownst to me, the shop has had possession of the keys ALL WEEKEND! Monday morning roll around, and the District Mngr., Dave something, meets my girlfriend and I, to view the video footage. He is visibly nervous, and fumbles at the pc key and mouse, several times he would make sudden clicks,obviously to avoid certain views of the vehicle. He starts off the viewing by saying "Ok...this is your car right?"..to which i replied "how do we tell that?" I should have prefaced the last sentence with the description of the camera view, which was the top of the hood, and partial fender. Either way, he immediately began berrating me fir even asking such a question, and ordered me to leave or he would "have me arrested" (his exact words). Does this sound like the behavior of someone trying vindicate themselves of wrongdoing? I don't particularly take kindly to idle threats or being yelled at (especially at 8am in the morning), so I thought it best to relieve myself from the shop, thus remaining DAVE'S teeth intact. My girlfriend remained to be shown the "excerpts " of the video that they said showed them dropping and adding oil etc. We spoke shortly after, and she relayed that she suspected it wasn't ever really shown chronologically, just bits and pieces of footage with his narrative of the events taking place.... In other words, abuncha nothin!Fast forward to yesterday, when i finally dropped the oil MYSELF, and measured about 6 3\4 quarts of oil leave the vehicle, via the drain plug and the filter. Where did the extra 2 and1/4 quarts come from? Needless to say, I had the vehicle towed to our home, so the vehicle was not driven AT ALL before my discovery. I sincerely beleive that while in possession of the vehicle, they added the extra 2+quarts, in the hopes that it would be driven, and the head gaskets would blow, so as to explain what happened to the oil that they added when talkie mccellphone "changed It to begin with. Oddly enough, with the correct amount of oil and the new filter and drainplug, there is no leak.
