I try to use local businesses, so I took my car in for brakes and an oil change. My pads were obviously low and grinding, so I knew I'd need rotors too. After a ridiculously high quote, I told them just to do the oil change. Went to pick up the car and was charged $114. This was for an oil change and "brake inspection". Only, they did not do a brake inspection bc my tires were never removed. Another shop trying to take advantage of a female. They also did not properly attach my undercarriage panel after the oil change, so the next day I drove home from work with it dragging the ground. Two weeks ago, we had a different Midas location provide maintenance service on our vehicle. Yesterday, we had an issue occur while driving on the interstate. Scared that this was an issue stemming from the previous service, I filled out an urgent appointment request online in the morning for a timeslot the same day in the afternoon. Midas confirmed the appointment request after only a few minutes, which was very fast. Within a half hour of my appointment time, I myself was able to diagnose the issue my car had and repair it. I called this location to cancel my appointment, and Miranda was both very friendly and helpful with cancelling the appointment. She was understanding about the concern that the issue stemmed from a previous Midas service, as well as about the cancellation since the issue was already resolved. Today, I was traveling to Illinois via I-74 West, when the bracket that holds my exhaust broke, so I pulled off at the 267 exit and the first thing I saw was the Midas sign, and with it being 5:30pm, I wasn't sure they were even open. So I just pulled in; thinking they would tell me to come back tomorrow, but the crew on shift took me in and got straight to the problem. My 23 year old daughter went to brownsburg Midas to to have a corroded LEFT SIDE brake line replaced on her Honda Civic. She was charged $490.00. This was for a $67 brake line, and $270 for 2 hours labor. The balance of the bill was for fluid flush, small rubber hoses, and a $35 MIDAS "SHOP FEE" (paper towels and gojo?, lol) Her boyfriend inquired as to why the RIGHT SIDE was not changed. The service person, Miranda, said the mechanic left for the day and she wasn't sure why he didn't do the right side. My daughter returned to our home in NY, and upon inspection, I found the RIGHT SIDE needed replacement as well. This was completed, along with an oil change, for $147, IN NY! Aside from my daughter being overcharged, I don't appreciate her being put back on the road with only half a job, that could've been dangerous. The people I spoke to, Ed and Miranda, were very nice. But once you get past the fluff, how would you feel if someone took advantage of your daughter?? I asked them that..........they did not disagree. read more

I have been taking my car to the Midas in Brownsburg for several years and we felt like we finally found a reasonable, fair and honest place to get our cars repaired. That is until Luther left and ownership changed. We are 2 for 2 on them "adding" charges after they have provided a written quote. Both times were significant repairs and charges. The first time was for $100 more and 2nd time for $40 more. Chris (manager) always hedges trying to explain it away. Bottom line, he did not refund the overage therefore I won't be going back. I have been putting off getting my oil changed and my tires rotated for a while now due to my busy schedule. Saturday morning I wanted to change this, so I gave Midas a call and explained them what type of maintenance on my car I needed. I did not schedule an appointment, so I was nervous about getting everything done today. I was told that they were booked every hour on the hour until 2pm in the afternoon, but they would try to work me in if possible. I dropped off my car at 8am, and Ubered to a local gym where I worked out for over an hour when I received a call saying that they were able to get my oil changed, tires rotated, brake inspection, and safety checklist completed. I was very grateful for there timely services and even received a $30 coupon from the store employee, which took my total from $79.99 to $49.99 less tax. I will update my review when I go see Chris again. But I didn't know I had an oil leak until I came here to get my brakes done. I paid for my brakes to get done and a oil change and then came back to get my engine oil pan gasket fixed to stop the oil leak. Once again I didn't know I had an oil leak until I came here and since I had that gasket fixed I now notice I have a oil leak. It's not fixed but worse and noticeable. Sunday (March 31) my car indicates I need oil. That same day I added oil, it's Thursday April 4th and my car needs oil again. I got the gasket fixed March 22nd and it had to get a oil change. I never noticed oil in my driveway until now witch is weird being I have something underneath my car to prevent that. I have a Audi and if this was something that could not have been done they should of just recommend me to go to the dealership. I did call Chris and he would like for me to bring it in so he can look at it. So the review will be updated. But $450 later something needs to be done the correct way or I need my money back. I have been a customer for six years; however, after my last experience, I will no longer give Midas my business. According to their sign, Midas offers "Quick Lubes" and "No Appointment Necessary." This is far from the truth. I scheduled my oil change appointment the day before and dropped my car off at the scheduled time of 12:30. The manager barely listened to me as I talked about rotating my tires and when I asked what time my car would be finished, he said they were backed up and he would call when it was done. At 5:20, I still had not heard from them, so we went ahead to pick it up knowing that they close at 6. When I arrived, my car was done, and he told me that he dropped the ball and forgot to call (it was done at 3:30). I told him that this was a big inconvenience for me, and he proceeded to treat me with disrespect. I had presented a coupon at 12:30, and he rang me up for full price then implied that he didn't care if I came back because all I get is oil changes anyway. I have never felt so disrespected by someone, and I am disappointed with this experience. In addition, when I got into my car, they had left my old sticker and hadn't replaced it with a new one, and it looked like my tires were not rotated. I was also under the belief that during oil changes, routine inspections and fluid checkups are done including airing of tires if needed. This was not done. I gave Midas the opportunity to make this right, but this has not happened. When I told the manager that I would post about my experience on social media, he told me that was my right, but did nothing to rectify the situation. Every once in a while you find yourself away from home and need help. My entire family was on a road trip to attend a memorial service and were having car trouble that threatened to jeopardize the entire weekend. As it turned out we needed to replace rear brakes and rotors that otherwise would render our car undriveable. We contacted a couple dealerships and brake/tire stores but they either didn't stock the parts we needed or were unable to schedule our repairs for days. We were lucky enough to eventually call Sal Semlali at the Brownsburg Midas location and it is not an exaggertion to say that he literally saved our trip. He not only had the parts we needed but sympathized with the fix we were in and got us in and out in just over an hour. I'm sure he realized i would have paid a premium to get expedited attention....so you can imagine my pleasant surprise when he gave me a bill that was $30 LESS than i was quoted by over the phone by a shop that couldn't accomodate us for a week. What's more, when his technician inspected the car, he found a screw in the front tire that may well have caused us even worse trouble had we gotten back on the highway. They fixed the tire at no charge. His store is spotless and there is a nice outdoor waiting area and plenty of food nearby if you choose to wait. I can't say enough positive things about my experience....my only regret is that his business isn't closer to Chicago because i would go out of my way to return the next time my cars need service..... give him a try....you won't be dissapointed. Just got chewed out by the owner for "only buying oil changes," despite the fact that I have been buying oil changes there for 10+ years. He told me he is a small business owner and he can't afford to give away free oil changes. Which I guess if you use a coupon makes them free to him, but not to me since I still had to pay $47 for an oil change that should have cost $26 using a coupon that was printed from the midas website.
