Need to rewrite I think my review because it got deleted?…read more I used to come here for tutoring for AP bio like 6-7 (unironically) years ago so take my review with a grain of salt. I loved this one male tutor, I think his name was David, so much because he never showed that he judged me and broke down concepts super simply and always encouraged me. This is how all tutors should be. But there was this one woman who went to Harvard or something who brought my mom and I into the office and basically told me it was too late for me and went on and on for a good 30 minutes-an hour about how I'd "never get into a good school" even though I had a 4.0 and I was on a good path, had clinical hours as a 13 year old, and was doing really well. She kept flexing that she went to Harvard and she could tell who would succeed or not, basically saying I'm going to fail at life because she could tell I wasn't going to make it. Ok good for you???? And surprise, she was wrong. I got into the top schools in California and am about to graduate with honors. I wasn't sure if writing a review after this long was fair, since I'm not sure if she still works there, but I still carry that negative memory with me to this day and even included this experience in my college essays. Hope she's not working there anymore and putting students down like that... Hopefully this was just a one-off experience but I'm not confident that it was, since she was way too comfortable rambling on like that. I would give one star because of her but that one tutor saved the rating a little bit.

I was confused, because she able to read in high level, but she can't spell out easy words. Her teacher doesn't understand it too. Victoria was fast figuring out she reads by 'whole word' recognization. We been with Victoria now over a month, 2x a month. We already see a lot of improve in writing, and her positive "can do" attitude. If Victoria say she can help your child, she can 100% deliver it. We have tired 2 different tutorials companies. They seem to be frustrated with Anna, and Anna just tune them off. Most of the tutors are college students. They are not trained in education like Victoria. Anna look forward to see Victoria, and Anna doesn't want to disappoint her. I was nervous, and stress out before, but Victoria assured me that everything is going to be fine! Anna will have no problem learning everything from her. We are very grateful for Ms. Victoria support, and look for to many many lessons to come. Victoria have the cutest chinchilla on earth. My older son has phased out and is now in TCHS Geometry and just made the basketball team but my younger son is now back at Little Harvard. He's always enjoyed school but he is absolutely thrilled every day when he comes home from school, gushing about how great the teachers are, how wonderful his friends are, what he's learning. He told me about a child who cried when asked to introduce herself and it impressed me when my son said the teachers taught everyone to be inclusive, loving and no one made fun of her, just tried to help her. This is the environmental I want my son in- to learn to be kind, while having fun and learning. Really loving this place right now. If you're not near Arcadia School District, look up Chiao Hsin in Walnut and Monterey Park. These two so far are great for us!!! They gave out too much worksheets and even gave me the wrong answers when they were actually right. Thus the fact, Ms. Kate grabbed my neck and fixed my posture when she claimed I looked too tired, and Ms. Sarah grabbed my hand and play the correct piano keys. This is highly prohibited as teachers aren't supposed to touch children, unless they need to break up a fight. Jeez, somebody get rid of her, and if I were there at that time, I would just get stand up for my brother and argue with her. She's super organized, knows the curriculum inside and out, and really understands what's going on at Highland Oaks. As two busy parents with demanding jobs, it's hard to stay on top of homework and school support. Having Ms. Brenda involved has been a game-changer. She's not only a seasoned educator, but also a mom herself, which really shows in the way she connects with the kids and understands what they need both academically and emotionally.
