Installation services are dismal. Waiting two months for them to bury the cable and now they say I have to wait until spring! Plus, they don't even take complaints and there isn't a customer service department. They just try to upsell you to fiber. read more

Today has to be the additive to services already gone sour. I received an internet phone service and no literature to services. I called Tech support who told me to access a website and transferred me back to customer service. Well, it did get worst AnnMarie, followed by Raven told me it was not there jobs and technical support should help me. When I asked for who or if someone could call me back would be a help; I was told to not tell her how to do her job. This is unacceptable to not value a customer and basically did not want to hear of all of the concerns I presented. I requested a call back as for this was unacceptable! I have been very impressed with the responsiveness of their customer service department. I also enjoy using their texting service to talk with customer service and get my issues resolved. I have never had a problem with the service That I would consider out of the norm. If there is a problem. they fix it quickly. Technicians are always very knowledgeable and nice. My next door neighbor is my brother, so when we moved here he recommended Mid Hudson Cable. When they told us that they had to do a two week survey of the property (that they were servicing) sounded suspect. Two weeks had passed and we now had to wait another two weeks for an appointment. After patiently waiting, the tech came over to tell us he couldn't get his cable through our conduit. Our building contractor talked to the tech and agreed to try himself to push the cable through (which he easily did the next morning). The tech told him that because we had already waited a month for installation we would have priority and the job was so simple they could fit it in when in the area. When I called in the morning we were told to wait another two weeks and that we had no priority. What horrible customer service! We've never before been treated as though the business that we are paying are doing us a big favor. read more

They are awful and they are thieves charge me $250 for installation that took them 3 weeks to come and do and they didn't bring the right router they didn't have the speed setup right either so when I called and complained they had to send someone out and then they charged me $75 extra for another installation fee basically the same installation but they just weren't competent and didn't do the job right so they had to come back and fix it but why am I paying again for it? What a mess this has become. This so called " upgrade" to fiber internet is awful. NEVER had buffering, freezing, disconnecting like I do now. Their app is poorly designed and supported. This is what happens when a small town company tries to pretend they are like Spectrum or Verizon. When Greene County finally comes to their senses and allows competitors in, Mid Hudson is doomed. Got a ROKU and signed up with HULU for $79 per month for more channels. Mid Hudson Cable was charging me over $200 per month. My neighbor told me to get away from them they are ripping people off. If you just get a ROKU it's free to live steam TV, no charge. read more

If you have a way to avoid using Mid Hudson Cable, use it. They're a horrible company. This cable service is the worst, Most expensive rip-off I have ever encountered. Unfortunately where we live (Medusa) it's the only choice for television, telephone, and internet. The main complaint for satellite television is poor service during bad weather; MH Cable is NO different. Pixelated, frozen picture, black screen, probably more often than satellite. The telephone dies for no reason. They now have a special commercial on how to reboot your phone, as service has gotten so bad. Internet is as slow as dial-up. Mid Hudson charges a lot of money for next to nothing services. I pay almost $100 a month just for internet service and cannot even connect 2 computers at the same time. When I initially signed up for the service, I wanted to utilize an online promotion they were offering, but when I signed up was told the promotion was not valid even though it was still on their site. After a half dozen phone calls they did honor the promotion, but it should not have had to take so much for them to honor it. Over and over again i call them to fix my cable... it constantly freezes and scrambles. I have had them here DOZENS of times always telling me a different reason for the issue but always with the same result.... it doesnt get fixed. The last time they were here the tech pulled the box with all the wires down off the side of my house. He said someone would contact me to fix the wires and straighten them out... 2 months later no one has called and the box is still hanging there and the cable still scrambles and freezes.... this company is terrible... they know it and dont care because they know their customers have no other option... so we pay 100s of dollars and have crappy cable TIME WARNER CABLE/SPECTRUM ... The fees Mid-Hudson Cablevision charges for simple access to the internet, with a phone, and NO TV at all, are at least twice what every other Internet provider I have ever used, has charged. We've had mid-Hudson for years, but only because there is literally NO ONE ELSE that we can get decent internet through around here. We've had nothing but poor experiences and likely have been scammed out of hundreds of dollars by this company. We used to pay for one of the higher speed packages and changed packages a number of times but "somehow" our speed tests always produced the same results- NO CHANGE, SLOW INTERNET. Sometimes the excuse was, "Oh, your package was never updated" despite our having paid the additional cost! (Which by the way was never refunded). Other times they claimed it was because we were on a "channel that was too crowded" which was complete bologna because even after switching nothing sped up.... We have always had poor service in our home. Finally we decided to just go with "basic speed" because we were getting the same speeds as when we were paying for their highest speed packages. If you ask me, it's all just a hoax. Their service is horrible. Their customer service is worse. And if you have other options- GO WITH THE OTHER GUYS. Don't go with Mid-Hudson unless it is literally your only option (which, thanks to their monopoly over Stockport, NY, unfortunately, they are the only provider for us to go with...). It is time that the communities that Mid-Hudson Cablevision services open up to competitive bidding for cable, internet services. They are the most expensive and the least reliable. We are stuck with a communications company that has become so expensive that we are thinking of going with nothing. With Amazon Fire we can get all the premium channels we want from Fire and for a whole lot less than MHC. Many premium channels are free or only three to five dollars a month. So how many of you would like to see your community open bidding to other cable companies? Let me know. Mid Hudson is constantly going "off-line" They sent a tech and installed a new box. I assumed the cable was working when tech left. I tried to watch tv on Saturday night and tv wasn't working. I tried calling tech support but they don't work Saturday night and Sunday. Had till wait till Monday. How much do I pay???? Worst cable company on the east coast! Tried really hard to be understanding with them, but this is one of those experiences that I've sincerely never dealt with before. I've had Mid-Hudson for six months, with their "high triple speed" package for wifi even though it's only for the house that only I live in. Therefore there are only two devices (phone and laptop) that id need to be connected, and yet, on numerous occasions, it's obviously too much to ask for. For the past six months I've experienced the worst "spotty service" I'd ever dealt with. But hey, I thought since I'm new to a small town, maybe it's just a thing to get used to. But 8 nights I've had a paper due online for school the next morning, and the wifi will suddenly be down for a solid day. And guess what? Their "call 24" rings hours on end with no answer. Even when the wifi is working, at "triple speeds", with just my phone connected in the same room, I can't ever connect to FaceTime or wifi calling. But I can at McDonald's wifi. I recently visited family across the coast, and disconnected my service to save some cash. They said it could be turned on right when I came back with no issue. Turns out I came home, and got hit with a $50+ reactivation fee, and a 10 day wait for the guy to reinstall it. But the day I left, without my consent, they had no problem coming here and disconnecting the wiring from my house in one days notice. On the scheduled day to have it reactivated, I took off work so I could let them in. The window time was 11am-4pm. I called the day before to confirm. I called at 11am the day of to confirm they'd come that day. Waited all day, called at 3:30, and they assured me someone would come. I call at 4:30pm, was put on hold, then they told me the scheduled date was for the next day. They said that it was my error, and "why didn't you call to confirm?" To make matters worse, whenever I reach someone to speak with, horrible service. No "thank you's" or even any fake sympathy for these last 6 months. I don't typically dwell, or get angry in this situation, but I hate that they speak to me like I'm stupid for thinking they can fix anything. I'm not here to say not to have Mid-Hudson, just extending my experiences. Why two stars? Bad internet is better than no internet, I suppose. read more

I pay $62.90/month for 10mb down and 512k up for internet. For basic cable I pay $70 month. Trying to get an M card for my tivo (FCC mandated 8/26/11) is like asking for a seat on the next trip to the moon. I think MHC needs competition so we can get basic service at reasonable prices. Oh, I've been paying $5/month for the 'booster' downstream (+5mb) for the past six months. Only problem is I do not get the extra speed but I get the privilege of paying for it monthly. read more

Finally got someone on the phone after noticing an issue with the service, Ray explained what was supposed to be explained from day one and I have never had such costumer service as good as this one from someone I don't even know. Their service is terrible. My cable modem was offline for more than it was online and it took them literally MONTHS to figure out the problem. Customer service is a joke. These have got to be the rudest people on earth. Their TV is way overpriced too and their attitude is, "where else are you going to go?" Do not get mid hudson cable! Literally paid install fee and had to move recently. They want to charge me another install fee two weeks after obtaining service! Where do I begin. Our literal first night with mid hudson cable, a cable box was laid on the carpet by the installer, and overheated ao bad within 2 hours it phyaically caught fire. The cable itself goes out, and when it goes out, stays out until you contact the conpany for them to switch it back on, as if the devices have no auto recconect funtionality. The internet is even worse. During a light thunderstorm it will go out, and as mentioned previously will stay out until you have made contact with Mid Hudson Cable, and when you do, they determine that its not important enough that both cable and internet are out, that they make their customers wait the duration of a week before they can restore service. Its easily the most insulting customer service I have ever experienced. read more

I had a 6 month introductory deal at 130.00 a month for basic cable crap channels , but a pretty decent internet connection, so I suffered through it. I despise basic cable , mind you that this is all low def 480 p video. no hd, no dvr . and the intro deal was still 130.00 ./. 6 months later, the intro deal wore off and now im stuck with a 179.00 cable bill. i called and removed basic cable and that brought my bill down to 89.99 a month for just internet. They're our only choice for internet and cable TV, but our phones will now be with State Telephone. I pray for the day that our neck of the woods has another choice.
