I have never done a review on yelp before but this experience was so bad I had to warn others. Do not go there. All the other bad reviews are consistent with my experience. The staff is rude, they billed my insurance wrong and Marco Katada was almost an hour late for our appointment. His main goal was to get me on some sort of medication, even though he clearly had no clue why I had called or what my own personal mental health goals were. Save your money and find a cheaper more convenient drug dealer. read more

Amy McDonald was great, we found a medication that finally worked for me after almost six months of trying different ones. Unfortunately she left the practice and I was reassigned to a different doctor who took me off that medication since I was gaining weight, something that was at the back of my mind considering my mental state, and put me back on Latuda, which didn't work for me. She kept increasing the doses until she finally listened to me. She decided to put me on another medication, but it required approval from my insurance, so she increased the dosage on the Latuda even though she would have to eventually wean me off. She tried scheduling an appointment with me, but I said no. Later that week I found out she had scheduled me anyways for a Monday appointment, I quickly told receptionist staff to cancel it. It happened again, an appointment was scheduled without my knowledge and I had to finally tell the office that I will not be returning. read more

My experience has been nothing but great. I've been in many physician offices including psych offices and this is, perhaps, the most friendly and efficient I've seen. I'm always greeted and my appointments with Arzu are always on time. Sometime, Dr Kazi is a few minutes late but never rushed. both seem to listen intently and provide feedback and suggestions. I go weekly because I need to be able to 'just talk and express' and always feel welcome. Highly recommend this office of any in the metroplex. All the staff are very highly confidential. referral to ER's is common on off hours for emergencies-medical and mental health. read more

Do not see Marco Katada. I repeat.. do NOT see Marco. The first time i had met with him, i waited over an hour. i was getting up to leave until he finally called my name. he acted very distressed and it was uncomfortable for me. i felt like I had to ask HIM if he was ok. He was very unprofessional. I had messaged him on the portal one day because the medication he put me back on made me extremely suicidal. I told him I was not feeling Ok and that i had to stop taking it. I received no reply from him as if I were not important. I imagine he didn't even think to check it because he is lazy and does not care enough about his job and the people he has in his hands. A week later, I went to go see my therapist in the same office and told her what happened... she called him in the room to come talk about what happened and to help discuss a new med. I had told my therapist I wanted to see someone other than him but she insisted to call him anyways. It took him awhile to come in,, as soon as he did, he asked me what medication i was currently taking... He immediately handed me samples of a medication I was unaware of. He said it was a new medication and that he thinks this would be "good for me". I was very upset and unsure about everything. I told them both that I did not want to be put on a new medication and that I was scared. i asked repeatedly if it was safe to take with my current med and he reassured me it was. I was very uneasy and had a gut feeling he had done zero research. I said ok and took the samples and went home. i decided to go ahead and try to trust that it was okay and took the medication. the next few days at work were hell for me and i thought i was insane. I had uncontrollable crying and suicidal thoughts and comments. It was noticeable. My mom and i did our research and soon found out that you were to NOT take this med with the other and that the side effects were crucial. I am very upset and hurt and feel like a toy to this man. He does not take his job seriously enough. Place is way too crowded also. just don't go here please. read more

I really liked the nurse practioner I had here for the few visits I was able to complete. I unfortunately missed two appointments but paid the canceled appointment fee each time of $75. I wasn't able to see Dr. Qazi initially, which was fine because I was told I would eventually see her. I had three deaths in the family, one in my immediate family, two of which were Covid related all within a month's time frame and when my appointments were missed. I understand it was my fault and that's why I was okay paying the late fee. It was a tough time with Covid and deaths/funerals back to back. Now that things are returning back to normal I called to schedule an appointment because I'm in desperate need of my medications. I was told that they would have to check with Dr. Qazi to see if it was possible to see me back at the practice. This call was made on a Monday. I was told they would let me know by the end of the week if they would accept my appointment. I was upset but okay waiting since I knew it was my fault. It's been over ten days and I have yet to hear back from this facility, which is completely unacceptable seeing as I told them I was running really low on my meds. It's upsetting because this isn't how a psychiatry facility should be run. The stakes are higher risk for patients when mental health is concerned. Due diligence should be given to every patient regardless of their condition or state. Even if it was a call back to just tell me they couldn't take me and I would have to find a different provider, I would have understood. Mental health is a very fragile subject, especially during COVID times. I'm thoroughly disappointed in my experience here and regret I won't be able to experience care from this practice. read more

I have been charged wrong and billed on more than one occasion. I find out later that my grandmother was paying that and then I was also paying when I came to my appointment because they said I had to pay it or I couldn't have my app. I see from reviews that I'm not the only person that this has happen to. Dr Kazi is the doctor on my scripts and the doctor on the door yet I have never had an appointment with her. I have actually been sent to more than 4 doctors since the first time I c a came there. Michelle who I see now is very nice. I had seen another doctor who is no longer there that had me on a medication that caused me to loose over 25 pounds and also had siezures and I still never saw Dr Kazi even though I had told him of all that was happening to me. This went on for a very long time and I was really sick because of it. That is when I finally started seeing Michelle which I like but I should have at least been able to speak to Dr. Kazi with everything that was happening to me from this medication. The other issue is that you can never reach an actual person there when you call. I have been told sever times by people that they were short staffed and was working on it. As I see from reviews other people have experienced this issue. The front desk for a long time was not very approachable. At least I see that this has improved somewhat. There are some good doctors there and it's a nice office, very clean and pretty, but there are still alot of issues that need to be ironed out. I see looking over different sites reviews that there are other reviews that are similar to mine. Its good to know I'm not the only one that has experienced some issues. I dont usually do reviews and rarely do negative ones but I just did it to hopefully make things better. read more

I am NOT a fan of this place. I brought my son here and it was his 3rd appointment. Loved Dr. Kazi the ONE time we saw her which was our first visit. The second visit we waited over an hour so they put us with Megan. Megan is sweet but she's not a doctor and she's not Dr. Kazi. Megan asked us to come back in four weeks. Much sooner than we anticipated but in order to see the doctor again we were game. We show up to our third visit, wait 40 minutes, so I approach the front desk about the wait time to be told I'm seeing Megan again. This is not who we signed up for and not who I wanted to see. I'm done and will be finding another place. They make their money by having a doctor see you once then pawning you off on an assistant while making the same amount of money. Unfortunate that I feel so annoyed that I sat down to write this review... what a joke. read more

Have never seen Dr. Kazi but she changed my meds on my record so the PA had to do it despite the fact that the new meds I was currently on were finally making me feel better. Dr. Kazi's 'recommendation' has set me back to square one. My counselor Adam is great. And I relay my frustrations with the administration of this place. They are definitely more concerned with the money aspect. Border-line harassment; I ended up blocking their number because they would call 3 to 4 times a day requesting for a payment I did not owe nor had been authorized on the EOB... They wanted to charge me $80 for co-pays which I did not owe and advised them of this. Then the amount went down to $40 because my counseling session was done over the phone (I was out of town and they wanted to charge me their ridiculous $75 fee so I requested a phone session). I called my insurance provider and they explained that a provider should not be charging anything above a co-pay until they receive their 'EOB' letter. At the time I called, the claim was still pending... When it was finalized, there was absolutely nothing that I owed. The up front credit card is so they can charge away without having accountability. Yes, the only time I speak to a live person is when they are trying to get money from me. Nothing but greed fuels this place and unfortunately that is not indicative of the actual providers I have seen. So sad. read more

Desiree was my first contact with the office. She is extremely warm and helpful. The PA is knowledgeable and thorough. I sincerely like work with Dr Kazi. I feel confident, for the first time in a long time, that I've found a team that completely cares and understands. read more

Where do I begin? I'll begin with my on-going billing battle for now (I hate long post & usually don't read them if they're long). What's the first thing they tell YOU when you begin your medication treatment? DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUSMTANCES STOP TAKING YOUR MEDICATION COLD TURKEY. As I write this I am OVER A WEEK w/o my Quetiapine 200 MG dose. Here we go- I have 2 insurance & I am constantly told I don't have to pay because of this by the front desk. I had to paid $159.84 for an appoint 7/11 or I wouldn't have been able to be seen & that would have resulted in a $75 cancellation fee. An out of pocket appointment with no insurance is $150 by the way (keep this in mind it's important for my rant). My HRA account request a receipt for the $159.84 which is usually no problem when there's a LIGITIMENT CHARGE. I submitted my receipt & unfortunately my HRA wouldn't accept it because it was just a print out with no billing code. I went online like I always do to submit the EOB & there wasn't one for my primary insurance which usually pays $112.02. There was one for my secondary for $45. I submitted this & now the charge that is unaccounted for is $114.84. If they would have ran my primary the unaccounted amount would have been $2.82. I figure what happened is they charged me $150 for the appointment & also charged my insurance. Would this qualify as insurance fraud? Just curious... I called & spoke with Dominique in billing because my card got suspended & I couldn't go to my October appointment. I also let her know I only had 2 days left of my ant-psychotic that I am on a fairly high dose of so it was imperative I get my refill. She who admitted that she had no idea why I was charged as she did not see the charge &/or a reason I would be charged that amount. Lucky think I have a receipt, huh? She also assured me she would speak to the front desk so I would not be charged a no show fee of $75. I told her on this FIRST call I had an EOB from my secondary insurance but nothing came through on my primary. She just needed to charge my primary. She argued with me & told me I do not know how insurance works & she would escalate this & call me back the next day. She didn't. I called her back a few days later & she had no idea who I was or what the issue was. I re-explained EVERYTHING. She said I was charged for previous appointmentS. I told her I have had dual insurance for the last 2 years. She then started what would be over an hour of me on the phone with my insurance companies. She called my primary who confirmed THERE WAS NOTHING RAN 7/11. Dominique assured her a primary was ran on her side. My primary then called my secondary who has the mental health carved out to another company- I have thoroughly explained this to Dominique who kept telling me I didn't have 3 insurances... which I was well aware of. Primary insurance called secondary who h&les my mental health portion & they told her NOTHING had been ran as primary which is odd that my secondary paid but they did. Primary insurance lady had secondary (mental health) insurance cancel the claim so Dr. Kazi's office would be forced to run the primary for the first time & then the secondary again. & she told me they would owe me a refund. Dominique was supposed to email me an itemized statement with the charged broke down for $94.84 I have no clue where she pulled that number from, but I do know my HRA isn't going to care unless it's the exact amount. She also said she would leave her name & number on the form- as if the HRA is going to call her! & the really bad thing is after they process through my primary (which is as of today STILL PENDING) it's not even going to be the exact amount I originally paid! Again I am now over a week over not having my Quetiapine & going through withdrawals physically & mentally. I have called 3 times requesting a refill. I have reached out to my pharmacy (before I was out) 10/14 who has reached out EVERY DAY SINCE. I received a call from Dr. Kazi's office from Margaret telling me I need to come in for my medication refill knowing I can't because my HRA account is suspended because of them. I cannot even buy my meds (that are over $100/month) without my HRA card. I could honestly go on about other instances where their billing has been screwed up. Like how in January I received no less than 10 EOBs from my OLD mental health insurance for claims from the PREVIOUS YEAR. I hope everyone out there reads this as well as Mid-Cities. SHAME ON YOU FOR MESSING WITH SOMEONE'S MIND LIKE THIS. You suggest me taking these meds to HELP ME then you deny me knowing full & well I NEED THEM. This is a malpractice case waiting to happen. read more

If you are looking for a medical office that understands and can work with a patient that has other medical issues outside of the need for counseling or medication management....THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!! My husband has a traumatic brain injury and suffers from episodes that cause faintest, dizziness, slurred speech, slow thought processing, amnesia/Alzheimer's like symptoms in addition to having narcolepsy with cataplexy and orthostatic hypotension. With his type of condition, there is no way for us to know 24 hours ahead of an appointment time that he is going to have an episode or pass out and sustain another concussion (adding to the more than 20 he's sustained over the past year). I called to cancel his appointment the night before because he had just fallen from an episode and was almost in a catatonic state. We have been going to this office for over 2 years now and had been told previously that as long as we call the day before, regardless of the time, they wouldn't charge the cancellation fee. When I called the next day to reschedule I was told that we would be charged because it wasn't 24 hours in advance. I asked for them to please work with us since I called the day before and to please take into consideration the condition he suffers from. The manager consulted the owner and he was "gracious" enough to not charge the cancellation fee today, but my husband has now been terminated as a patient! The reason given was "it's our policy to terminate after so many missed visits and we have to follow our own policies." I understand the need for policies (I work for a bank and have to enforce policy often) but I also know that there is a time and place to bend from those policies when someone needs help. It's clear to me that this office is only concerned about cranking out as many visits as they can to maximize the insurance billings and is much less concerned about true patient care. The sad part is, that the staff at the front desk, the counselors and nurse practitioners we've seen here are all wonderful people and truly care about their patients...it's the owner that is the problem! read more

I would not recommend this office. First off I never felt very welcome. I only saw Dr. Kazi once in my time of going here and the rest I saw her assistants. My first visit they changed up my medications and when I went back to tell them that I was having bad side effects, she just upped my medicine!! Then I was put on another medicine to take three times a day that was throwing me into panic attacks. It was an awful experience and I felt as if her assistant didn't know what she was doing. I would give this "practice" zero stars if it were possible. Please, do NOT go here. I read the horrible reviews and decided I'd try it anyway. I knew from the first call (when the asked for my credit card number for their cancellation policy before even asking my name) that it seemed like a scam but again I went against my intuition and made an appointment. I specifically asked for a female provider, aka Dr. Kazi. When I came for my appointment, I waited 30 minutes to be seen and finally saw a medical assistant who informed me that A. I would not be seeing Dr. Kazi that day B. I would only see a nurse practitioner until they deemed it necessary to see the psychiatrist and C. That I had been scheduled with a male nurse practitioner. I was never told any of this before scheduling my appointment, and would NEVER have scheduled it had I known. After been mislead and lied to multiple times I decided I did not want to stay to see a male nurse practitioner. The office staff were rude before I decided not to stay and after I decided to leave they were just mean. I was charged $75 for the appointment and $15 for my copay for literally talking to a medical assistant for 2 minutes while she told me I wouldn't be seeing the psychiatrist. I will never be stepping into this building again and urge you not to as well. read more

If you're thinking of you or a loved one that is struggling with mental illness coming here, run the other way. They will push drugs on you as the only form of help. I used both of the female therapists (I wish I could remember there names, I believe one was named Rebecca) about a year ago and had the absolute worst experiences that have scarred me from seeing anyone for my OCD and Panic Disprder. One of the therapists after the third visit, started threatening me to take my medication, asking "why I wanted to be so perfect" and if "God loved me so much why would he do this to me?" I am a highly educated person, especially when it comes to the brain and my mental disorders. After being attacked by this therapist, I gave her a little lesson in how the chemicals work in the brain (which she seemed completely stunned that I knew) and walked out and never turned back. That was the absolute worst anyone has ever made me feel and I couldn't believe how these therapists handled someone stuggling with mental illnesses. All I could do was cry for a week thinking of the brain washing they are doing to others that aren't as educated as I was on the topic. I finally gain the courage to write a review to warn others. Find a more professional place that actually cares and will give you help, versus trying to make as much money out of you as they want. read more

First off, let me begin by saying Dr Kazi is a great dr. That being said however, her staff is HORRIBLE! Jonie, one of the people you see before you see Dr Kazi is horribly rude and doesn't return phone calls and when she does, it happens about 3 days later. They have no on call help in case of emergencies and refer you directly to the er. Their answering machine continually says your call is very important to us but in reality, if it were really important wouldn't you expect to get an answer to the PA when calling or at least receive prompt replies? The office has changed tremendously over the year and now I don't even get to SEE the psychiatrist herself, I see a PA instead EVEN AS AN ESTABLISHED PATIENT! All of a sudden i am seen by someone I have no clue who is and ended up stopping a VERY heavy drug that ON THE LABLE STATES DO NOT STOP THIS MEDICATION IMMEDIATELY. Well she did and I have been having horrible withdrawal symptoms. I then called to make an appointment WITH DR KAZI and they said they would call me when their systems were up. Well, when I called the next day to cancel an appointment, low and behold their systems were up. I then asked why I was not alerted when they were up when I was told I would be. I feel completely mistreated and told them I want to make an appointment WITH DR KAZI HERSELF and they gave me a date and time. I repeated now this IS with Dr Kazi and she said yes. I told her because the last two times I was told it would be with her it wasn't. I have made an appointment with a different Psychiatrist at this point for the following week and now am at a standstill whether I keep this appointment SUPPOSEDLY with Dr Kazi or do I just go somewhere else. read more
