If you truly need help this is NOT the place to go. They will cause MORE distress in your life than you came with. This is the most despicable center for mental health I have ever encountered. Let's start with the turnover. Extremely high! You cannot count on accuracy and continuity of care whatsoever. I have seen 4 different providers within the span of 6 months. Two weeks after my initial appointment the NP that I met with left the practice. Medications were not sent in so I had to call and request them. Getting your medication is a whole other story. It can take up to a week to get your medication sent over to the pharmacy. You will be playing phone tag with them daily. Punctuality is null and void. Every single appointment I had I waited no less than 30 minutes to be seen by a provider. Mind you two visits were televisits so you're just sitting there waiting, on camera. The tardiness and inability to be punctual caused me to be late returning to work each occurrence. Following an incorrect medication refill I noted a new provider on the medication sent to my pharmacy. (Provider number 4) Also the medication sent was not what was agreed upon previously by Dr. Kazi. I called into the office to ask why was the medication different and prescribed differently and was told because the new provider did not know me I was only given a certain amount of anxiety medication. Re emphasizing the lack of continuity of care. Lastly, my last appointment with Mid Cities was October 2025 with Dr. Kazi. Follow up scheduled for December 2. As I unexpectedly began a new job Dec 1st my new insurance would not be effective until Jan 2026. I called to cancel the December 2 appointment. Here we are in the new year 2026. It is January 8th. I called to make an appointment and give my updated insurance. Of course no one answered the phone so I left a message. I received a return call from an assistant (Josh I believe) who said that I had been discharged from the facility as a patient for "non-adherence"and that I "should have received a discharge letter in the mail." I asked Josh what was the non-adherence and he said he would have to "look into it" and get back to me. I'm very interested in what non adherent information he will provide. Fortunately, as a nurse for the past 12 years, I keep very precise and detailed documentation. I have every receipt and document you could think of. Even my PCP appointments are recorded with AI. What a disgrace and disservice you are doing to patients and the community with your blatant lies. You may have gotten off with this with a lay person who doesn't know any better but I've got news for you today. The amount of pain and suffering you have caused me is monumental. read more

A little background... I was referred to Mid Cities after completing diagnostic testing with another clinic. I attended two Telehealth sessions, mainly for medication management, roughly one month apart. My list of grievances: - I had to fill out my intake paperwork twice. They were unable to locate it after the first time. - They take payment for your session BEFOREHAND, and then were late. Both of my sessions started 30+ minutes late. MAKE SURE TO PLAN FOR THIS as other reviewers have the same complaint. I wonder why they don't charge afterwards like everyone else? Curious? - My doctor, due to an "oversight," forgot to send my prescription after the first visit. Had to play phone tag for a couple of days to get the ball rolling. - Talking on the phone with them sucks. Plan for multiple phone calls as it seems nobody knows what's going on - It is unlikely they will read your file beforehand. It is unlikely they will learn anything about you and they will not remember anything about you from your last visit. If you are someone who prefers even a modicum of personalization, this is not your place. - THEY DO DRUG TEST and THEY WILL DENY YOUR REFILLS IF YOU FAIL FOR LEGAL CANNABANOIDS. You can drink as much as you want folks, no worries there, but if you like to eat a LEGAL gummy and watch Beetlejuice every once in a while, you will be disappointed. Hopefully at some point they'll be forced to update their policies. - This may be a bit personal, but the doctor asked what I was anxious about, and it really rubbed me the wrong way. I started my session noting a death in the family. Even if you can't remember anything else, nothing from the previous session or the packet of psychiatric information that I submitted during my intake, I told you that a family member died... To ask what I'm anxious about is offensive. I think that concludes my list of grievances. All-in-all this place sucks. I like my psych but this place is not the best. They will schedule your appointment then not show up for at least half an hour. For example my appointment was scheduled at 9:40 and I didn't see my caregiver until 10:20. Mind you this is a telehealth appointment so I'm just sitting here with a small child waiting. This happens everytime. I was also harassed by one of the billing associates. It was so bad he was yelling at me on the phone and calling back to back in one day. All because I asked him to call my insurance, they tried to charge me a butt load. He refused but kept calling me screaming to pay my dues. I even had my insurance call them and talk to a different associate who sorted it out but he kept calling me. Super weird, super unprofessional. I told my psych and they didn't really acknowledge it. In the fine print of you appointment reminder emails it says you have to arrive ONE HOUR before your scheduled appointment to be seen. Why not just schedule the appointment for that time then? Also, they send you your paperwork online, so if that is completely filled out prior to your arrival, do you still need to be there 1 hour ahead? I got to my appointment only 20 minutes ahead, they took my copay, and then 5 minutes later told me they wouldn't be able to see me bc I was too late. Keep in mind, it still wasn't even my actual appointment time yet. I tried to explain to them that my daughter had gotten into a car accident that morning, just before I was about to leave for my appt. but they said there wasn't anything they could do and I'd have to call to make a new appointment. Several days later I noticed they'd taken out $150 from my bank account for the no call/no show fee. I called and explained I was there, standing in their office, or how else would they have been able to take my copay (which was eventually refunded). I told them about my daughter's accident and they requested "proof". So I sent them time stamped pictures via email of my daughter's car slammed into a tree, my daughter sitting on the side of the road next to the car crying, and the damage to the car. Then for the next 3-4 months, I would call/email every couple weeks to ask for an update. The people who answer the phones just kept saying they're contracted and not actually employees of Prime Beh and that they were waiting on an answer from Prime Beh. After about 6 months, they finally told me that, the only way to get my money back was to schedule another new client appt. If they think I would trust them with my mental health after this, then they're the crazy ones. This place is a money grab with zero care for the actual betterment of their patients. The office staff is consistently friendly and efficient. This isn't always easy in a psychiatric office, but I have seen them patiently assist clients who were clearly having difficulty. I have gotten fantastic care from Dr. Kazi and the other staff here. They are often busy, and sometimes this leads to delays later in the day -- if you've got a tight schedule, a morning appointment is the way to go. Despite the high volume of clients, they still see each one as a person and not just a file. If you have to call after hours about a prescription, you will get a response in 24 hours (usually the same day). read more

I was recommended to make an appointment through ComPsych with a doctor at Midcities Psychiatry. Trying to make an appointment was like pulling teeth. I spoke with numerous people over a 5 day period, and they kept calling trying to pass me off to a different doctor, and trying to cancel the appointment I had already scheduled. I have PTSD and an Anxiety disorder. This was the worst thing that could've happened. I am grateful that I was able to find someone else who was not only willing to help me, but their staff was friendly and helpful. I will never recommend this place or its staff. read more

While I enjoyed my actual psychaitrist here, the office is TERRIBLE. They withheld access to my doctor and my medication over a $50 past due balance due to a "missed appointment" they couldn't even really confirm I had missed. This is illegal. No one told me why I couldn't get my refill for A WEEK, kept telling me they would call me back, never did. Told me it was all my doctor, and she had no idea. I have been in treatment for bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety disorder at Mid Cities for around three years now. My provider is Rebecca Perthel, and I think she does a great job. She listens to me, she gives me choices, and gives weight to my own thoughts on my treatment and tries to accommodate me when it is possible and in my best interest, rather than just saying this is what we are going to do. I have less anxiety and far fewer bipolar episodes since I began treatment, and I generally just feel much better since I started treatment with her. I read some of the negative reviews, and I have not experienced any of that. Everybody I have interacted with there has been kind. I did get charged 75 dollars for a missed appointment once, but I totally spaced the appointment and it was completely my fault, and the fee they charged was fair. I saw a therapist there for a while, and she wasn't bad, but she wasn't helping me much, so I told them that I didn't think she was right for me, and I didn't want to continue seeing her anymore, and the staff understood completely. I've never been read a script there by anyone. They do infrequent drug screens just as a matter of procedure, not that they suspect I am using drugs. I have severe anxiety about urine tests, so they accommodate this by doing a mouth swab instead. I have received good treatment there, I feel much better since I started treatment with Rebecca, and the office staff goes out of their way to make sure the experience is as comfortable for me as possible. I have not a single complaint about Mid Cities Psychiatry, and I would recommend them to others. read more

I had a need to seek physchiatric help and was referred by my Neurophysiologist. I went there for help. I have met with Quillermo Anguiano and I must say that he is top notch. Very professional. He listens well and shares his opinion in a form that you feel comfortable speaking with him. He consults with the Doctor and communicates via the portal which makes it simple. I totally recommend anyone that is in need of mental help, I highly recommend you visit Mid Cities Psychiatry and ask to council with Quillermo. This is a money making operation. They are more concerned about making money and company policy than a patients well being. Very unorganized operation. Tele-visits fail and you have to accept sessions over the phone. They have a script that they read to you when you call. I had been overcharged and the only way to get it straight was to call and complain very loudly, after being told twice I would be charged a lower fee. And all I heard during the call was repeated reading to me of company policy, even though I was calling about being overcharged. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Their policies are cruel. Three of the employees there (non-providers) I found to be devoid of empathy. My credit card will apparently now be charged $150 for a "no show" fee because I am too sick to appear for my initial assessment. The stress of dealing with them has only made my nausea and stomach pain worse this morning. Yes, in order to GET an intake appointment, you have to enter your credit card and agree to pay $150 if you miss the appointment, even for sickness, unless you subsequently bring a doctor's note! I'm 52 goddamn years old, I'm not a some miscreant trying to get away with something. In the end, the $150 cruelty fee is better than some of the other experiences I've read here. read more

Just read the reviews. It's not real psychiatry. I went in for ADHD symptoms and the first thing they did was drug test me. Then I had to take two computer tests for ADHD, one of which I failed and one that I did "slightly too well" on. Therefore, I was not treatable for ADHD. There was no further questioning, no family interviews, medical history didn't matter, treatment history didn't matter, reported symptoms didn't matter. Still had to pay for the pointless drug test. Lauren was the PA that worked with me. She was late to every appointment and then didn't show up to one (it was supposed to be in person right after the testing, but after my appointment time started I was told that she was not there and I could do it online with her in my car). I mean come on... that's the most unprofessional thing I've ever seen. So I went out to the car x-D and she explained my results and then explained that they couldn't treat me with stimulants. I said that, having been treated with stimulants before, that I was wary of non-stimulant treatment. Then she told me "you can find other places that will treat you with stimulants." She said she'd reach out to the psychiatrist to see if they could make an exception. Didn't hear anything. A couple weeks later I sent a message asking if my non-diagnosis was going to be based solely on a computer test (half of which I failed) or if they were going to do anything else. Lauren called me that Friday and said she wanted to do a questionnaire/analysis for Executive Function Disorder which can be treated similarly to ADHD (I guess with stimulants?). She said she would call me that Monday to ask me some questions about it. I said "great, talk to you on Monday." She never called. In summary: they make you pay for unnecessary services, make you wait too long, don't show up, don't call, and base the entire diagnosis on a controversial and inaccurate computer test (that they treat as pass or fail). If you read the "about the business" section on yelp, it says this: "Dr. Kazi is trained to use holistic treatment using a comprehensive and individualized approach for mental health care." I got a computer test... and nothing else... read more

Crooks. They DO NOT know how to bill insurance at all. Last year they overcharged me almost $300 and this year, according to my insurance, they owe me almost $200. Basically what they were doing, is taking money out of my HSA and charging me out of pocket for the appointment! Like I said, crooks! Insurance agreed rate is $86, they were taking that out of my HSA, plus charging me $120 out of pocket!!!! So they were getting $206 out of me every appointment! I'm sure I'll never see it though, because every time I contact the office about it, they send the matter over to their 3rd party billing company in India and they claim they have no record of any of this. DO NOT GO HERE. I always see elderly patients here; I don't know how medicare works, but I really hope they aren't swindling them like this. Not only that, but when I started going to another doctor, he was very confused as to why they had me on the medications I was on. He said not only were the dosages off, but that two of the medications did the same thing, so there was no reason to be taking both. I'm doing SO MUCH BETTER now that I'm on the right meds. I feel like they were keeping me on the wrong medications to keep the cash flowing. And no, paranoia has never been one of my symptoms, lol. read more

I absolutely HATE that you can never get a human being when you check in. I asked front desk people WHY? and was met with blank glances. On my first visit, I was told that I was going to be titred off my meds. Seriously? Even after I mentioned that a previous attempt left me absolutely flattened. I saw one of the PA's, and felt like she was going down a checklist rather than listening to me. (I've been to counseling before. This is far from my typical experience.) Second visit... Seeing one of the counselors. Jury's out, but I am strongly leaning towards going somewhere else. I see the PA again later in the week. The doctors here continue to make me plead and beg for prescription refills, never doing them automatically and forcing me into a game of phone tag between myself, my pharmacy, and them. I ran out of medicine, requested a refill on Monday, and then got my medicine by Friday, along with a surprise drug test I have to drive in for (during business hours of course, so time off of work). I cannot recommend this place at all. This is a psychiatry practice that hates prescribing medications and actively tries to get you off of them, even if you have decades of good experiences with the drug in question. read more

She was in my network 2. The # of years experience under her belt & 3. She was the only physician on page 1 of the list who wrote some info about themselves within their profile overviews I was excited to meet w/ Dr. Kazi for my virtual appointment but was instead met with a physician assistant of which I was not informed of until the individual presented on camera. To my surprise I asked if I was incorrectly directed and informed I was not. FIRST IMPRESSIONS go a long way and this uninformed information wasn't a great start to someone looking for a trusted patient client relationship. Nor was I informed of the physician assistants experience in the field of psychiatry although she mentioned she had experience in a family practice dealing w health ailments like diabetes. Of course, not relevant to me since that is not a diagnosis of mine. Anyhow, speaking of patient client relationship, while sharing very private information in such a setting, I do not want my information in the hands of anyone other than the person I have agreed to meet with, as in the physician/psychiatrist in this case. Last but not least, when speaking of medications and my concern for amphetamines, and how it wasn't a drug I was looking to take DAILY; I was told that they are NOT addictive medications. Which honestly, Threw me for a freaking LOOP b/c here I have a LICENSED professional stating "amphetamines aren't addictive." CORRECTION: THEY ARE HIGHLY ADDICTIVE! ‍ The PA doesnt ask about personal history, family history, or a history of failed or successful treatments. I attempted to cancel an appointment due to an illness. Both times I called, the voice mail system hung up on me without taking my message. I responded to the text message appointment reminder I received explaining that I was sick and needed to reschedule. I called this morning to verify that they received my text message. I was informed that they will bill me for a no call, no show because they did not receive a voice mail from me despite the fact that I have my phone log that shows I was on the line with their system for over 1 minute. Further, I informed them that I have screen shots of my text message to them. They will not accept that as notification because they said that they don't see text messages on their end. I clearly did my due diligence to cancel the appointment, I have proof that I attempted to contact them, and they still want to stick me with a $75 bill!? I had an issue a year or so ago when my company was late depositing my HSA money onto my card. My husband was out of work and I had no way to pay for my appointment. I called to explain and was told that they were still going to charge me for a missed appointment because I didn't follow procedures and cancel 24 hours in advance. I was sobbing hysterically, begging for them to work with me. I asked if I could come to my appointment and pay later when the HSA money hit my account and was told that they would not work with me. Finally, they said they would not charge me but it was only after I was crying uncontrollably for many minutes that they agreed to help me. I understand having policies for no calls/no shows but when there are extenuating services, exceptions should be made. Doctors take an oath to "do no harm". Mid Cities Psychiatry seems to forget that they harm their clients when they treat them this way so unreasonably. Clearly the only thing they care about is filling their pockets with money. My wife was seen by a doctor at this office and when the medication didn't seem to be working they did not return any calls or give guidance when he tried multiple times to contact them on whether we should stop the medicine or have an alternative offered. I have sent in multiple communications to the owner of the business as well and have not received a reply however they are dead set on making sure we pay for the visit that wasn't properly managed. Very unprofessional office and I would not recommend anyone else using them as we have sought services elsewhere ourselves. read more

Like other patients have said, I have only seen Dr. Kazi once and it was because the physician assistant had no idea what to do when my symptoms were not responding to med changes. I have had to see four different physician assistants because they keep leaving the practice. The provider is always late. If the appointment is at 1pm, expect to see the provider around 1:45. And you only get around 15 minutes with them just for them to do nothing to modify a treatment plan that isn't working. They make me do a drug test every 3 months to get stimulants for my ADHD, which I had been taking daily for over 15 years. Tried virtual counselling with them because my previous therapist had referred me to DBT which they said Kelli practiced. She had not done DBT with me in any of our sessions so far after two months of weekly sessions. She is very ableist. She makes assumptions and then gets confused when corrected. Her best opening question is how are you, even though for some patients that may be hard to answer due to social conditioning or lack of emotional awareness. She is very disrespectful of autistic people, using terms like Asperger's, high functioning, and low functioning despite those being outdated and offensive to the autistic community. She also tries to blame every issue on autism, even if what you are feeling has nothing to do with it. Dismisses patient concerns repeatedly. Not worth seeing. read more

I have been seeking a facility for my daughter and the process is quite enduring and sensitive. This facility was recommended and I called to get information. I was directed to the website to gain insight and unfortunately several of my questions still remained unanswered. After speaking with the "scheduler", who was very kind, he advised that I should speak with the "Front Office Manager". This is where disaster strikes... If you are seeking SENSITIVITY, PROFESSIONALISM, KNOWLEDGE or UNDERSTANDING please make sure you DO NOT SPEAK TO MELISSA! This review isn't for the doctor or the experiences I have while in their office, it's for scheduling. I've never had a bad experience while being there at the facility. This is my experience with scheduling... I had scheduled 3 appointments while I was in the office after I saw the doctor one time for the next month. When it comes time to go to those appointments I find out that they had been changed without speaking to me. I was given 3 appointment reminder cards for these too when I scheduled them. The black girl I spoke to in regard to this issue (I think her name was Michelle or something) told me, "she wasn't going to go back and forth with me as to weather or not she spoke to me or not". Even though I know for a fact I have never seen her in person let alone spoken with her on the phone. So she basically told me I was lying. I wouldn't have agreed to change the times of the appointments for the times she changed them to anyways because I had work that night 7pm-7am so I have to sleep during the day which is why I try to schedule most of my appointments in the morning so that I can go there as soon as I'm off. And then they tried to charge me for a no show for the appointments she screwed up for me which was going to cost me around $250. That girl was just so disgusting when I finally had to talk to her for the first time to resolve the scheduling issue. If they knew what was good for their scheduling department they'd at least get rid of her or teach her some proper phone etiquette and to not change appointments without speaking to the patients. read more

I've worked with the head psychiatrist, Dr. Seema Kazi, for over 3 years. I have felt very lucky to have her as part of my healthcare team. She and her medical assistant Margaret are thoughtful, caring, and knowledgeable. I have required some complicated medication adjustments, and Dr. Kazi is aware of the latest research to help me make informed decisions. Calls before 2pm and are returned the same day 95% of the time. Requests for refills are addressed promptly. Only negative is that sometimes there is a wait, especially if you are at the end of the day. read more

We had a bad experience at this place. For starters, we were supposed to see the psychiatrist, Dr. Kazi. Instead, we saw one of the nurses and we were told that we couldn't see the actual doctor for about a month. The nurse started us on some medication and we started seeing one of the therapists. I'm not going to say their name, but it seem like they needed as much from us as we needed from them. I felt like a lot of the questions they asked was to make themselves feel better about their current situation and family problems instead of trying to help me with mine. We finally got to see Dr. Kazi and she was super nice. She put us on a medication and warned us not to just stop taking it. It's one of those that you have to slowly come off of. This brings us to my next big problem. When it came time for a refill after the third month, I called and asked for the refill and they told me no problem. I wasn't worried because I still had two weeks of pills left. The next week, they still have not refill my prescription at my pharmacy so I called again. They told me it would not be a problem and that they would get it done as soon as possible. The next week, I was nearly completely out of pills and I called again. This time they said that the nurse did not want to refill it until she spoke with at me and tried to set me up an appointment for three weeks out. I told them that I only had one pill left and they insisted that they would not refill it until after I saw her in three weeks. I explained to them that Dr. kazi, the nurses boss, had warned against just stopping taking this medication and that I wouldn't have any for the next three weeks. I don't know what the nurse was thinking, but she finally agreed to give me a refill. It was really stupid for them to even act like that. I quit going to them after that, and now I'm searching for someplace else that might be better. I figured I was better off on my own for now read more

I worked for Dr. Kazi for a short period several months ago as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; at that time, I realized outpatient services were not for me. A few days ago, I came across Dr. Kazi's name and wanted to write a review. I was privileged to sit with Dr. Kazi on a few new patient consults. She is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and wants only the best for her patients. I read some of the reviews, and noticed people were upset over the scheduling process; unfortunately, this is found in many places. Worst experience of my life. First of all my appointment was with Dr. Kazi but I never saw her, instead I saw Amy McDonald. Within less than an hour she diagnosed me as Bi-Polar, never once meeting me in person and no other doctor or psychiatrist or therapist for the past 6 years had ever mentioned anything. She would phrase questions to purposely make me answer them in a different way. She also kept pressing into past traumatic events that I wasn't ready to talk about and would not leave it alone, leaving me absolutely sobbing over a zoom call. This clinic's sole goal is to make money. It was evident when trying to get an appt. they really didn't care what was wrong with me but rather getting my credit card info. I got this clinic from my insurance company and then they tell me before seeing them dr I must do lab work but they are "out of network". I refused to pay out of pocket or out of network and found out later; I didn't need lab work anyway. Just got such bad vibes and have heard for years how our mental health situation in this country is so bad- I now know why. Very frustrating to see he medical profession being more greedy than caring about patients. read more
