Mid Atlantic is really the only place I trust to take my car. I have an electric BMW which is something a lot of mechanics/ even BMW dealerships are not great about knowing much about. Even the size of my tires has been an issue because of their unique size. 3 times in a row Mid Atlantic has been the only place that was able to help me. They've even investigated weird noises which other mechanics were too afraid to look for- Mid Atlantic found it in half an hour and pulled the pebble out that was causing a racket. If you have a European vehicle in the area or a unique car you can certainly trust them with it. Beyond that their staff is by far much nicer than any BMW dealership I've ever been to. I rarely write reviews but I feel compelled to do so. My son visited the area and his car 2013 BMW) had issues enough that he could not drive it home. Jason and the team there were outstanding. Over several weeks diagnosed the issue/s and repaired the car at a very fair price. Additionally let me keep the car there for another few weeks until I could arrange to pick it up. Jason communicated very well throughout a process that addressed multiple issues with my older (much-beloved) E39 BMW. He knows the ins and outs of these vehicles. The end result seemed a tad expensive (to be fair, I did not price shop), but the work was good. I should know by now what original factory parts cost. I bought this car new in 2001 and keeping it on the road with 198,000 miles on it is not for the faint of heart. My battery they installed lasted 6 months,,, I called and wrote a letter and they just said a manager would get back to me. Of course, no one ever did. Very disappointed, It was likely an after market battery and then had it replaced at a BMW dealership and it has been fine. They did not stand behind their products and their work. read more

Avoid at all costs as they sold me a car that they said was turnkey and the wheel almost fell off in the first 3 miles due to "stripped" lug nuts so they are not concerned for anybody's safety. Then we found the right seat adjust, stereo, blinkers, A/C and speedometer all to be non working since we took their word for it and had it shipped to California. Then when we called them on all the issues they did nothing for us because they already had the money via bank transfer. What a pack of lies they told us as they said it was a "turn key" car and had just been full serviced. I would trust them as far as I could throw them!!!! read more

This is a quality dealership from top to bottom. The mechanics are terrific, the sales staff knowledgeable. They want a long term relationship and repeat customers, not a quick one time profit. They retain their staff long term--people want to work there, which tells you a lot about the ownership and management. They have built their business word of mouth, and a lot of their customers return to buy second or third cars from them. The two senior mechanics have each been there for more than a decade. You could not ask for better people or more integrity. This is easily the best dealership with which I have ever done business, and I have complete faith in their maintenance department. I don't have to go in to Mid Atlantic for service that often because they sold me a great car back in 2009. However, when I have they've always been friendly and fair and given me a clear explanation of what was going on with my car. They've also been very helpful with staying late to get my car finished when I've been in a jam and could not leave the car. When needed they've given me rides back to residence in town and picked me up when my car was ready to go. I've been extremely happy both with the 2006 330i I bought from them and the quality of service I've gotten from them. read more

Over the phone, Greg at MAM gave me a fair price on his G550 and on my Porsche trade in. However when i arrived, Greg explained that my Porsche had side damage and a poor paint job. I recently purchased a 2008 Infiniti G35XS from Greg and Dallas at Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes. I live in Colorado which presented logistical issues since the dealership is in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I can't say enough about Greg's patience, demeanor, willingness to answer all of my questions and send me additional photos. He even delivered the car to another local shop there to conduct a pre-purchase inspection! The price we negotiated was very fair and Greg never put pressure on me. He went above and beyond when I was ready to pull the plug on the potential deal due to the higher than I was comfortable with costs of getting out there to purchase the vehicle by voluntarily throwing in an extra $200 to cover some of my costs. I was amazed to say the least and that simple act of generosity saved the deal! When I got to the dealership they had the car all shined up and ready to go. One young man there helped me connect my cell phone to the blue tooth in the car. Another young man accompanied me out to the airport after the shop had closed so I could return my rental car and waited patiently until I purchased fuel for the rental car. I offered him a tip and he flat out refused. I received over the top professionalism and service from everyone I encountered at Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes which I greatly appreciate.So why the 4 stars and not 5? Two reasons, both of which I contributed to thus making, in fairness, my review 4 1/2 stars. First, during my conversations with Greg I asked him whether there was rust on the undercarriage. He went and looked and told me he didn't see much if any. This is something I should have looked for myself when I arrived at the dealership but I got there later than I anticipated and 40 minutes before they closed so everything was a bit rushed. Now that I have the car home my mechanic has told me there is in fact rust. Something we are not used to in the West but I should have known it is common in high humidity states and should expect given that the vehicle is 7 years old. Second, on my way across the country, after purchasing the car, I discovered that the cruise control was not functioning. I immediately called Dallas and he said he would get word to Greg right away. No one ever called me back. Yes, I understand I purchased the car "as is" but that is something that should have been caught when the vehicle was prepped for sale. (It should have been caught by the shop that did the pre-purchase inspection too but that is a different story/review). Luckily, it turned out that the brake pedal and one of the cruise control switches just needed an adjustment. A $40 labor charge and my mechanic fixed it right away. Again, had I spent more time with the vehicle on the day I bought it I would have tested the cruise control and insisted it be looked at and addressed before I drove it off the lot but I was trying to be respectful of the fact that they were getting ready to close. These items are all things potential buyers can avoid by doing their own thorough inspection. I was just a bit disappointed that no one called me back about the cruise control issue discovered the next morning after I purchased the vehicle. I love my new car and 98% of my experience with Mid Atlantic was top notch. Would I buy the car again from them? Absolutely. The lack of a follow up call on the cruise control however, is what is keeping this one from being a 5 + star rating. read more
