This isn't a review so much as a warning to anyone considering staying at the CenterWay Hotel…read more DON'T. I booked a room several weeks before attending a concert in downtown Buffalo. The plan was to check in after the show, around midnight. Due to the late check in time, I called the hotel a couple of days beforehand to make sure that there wouldn't be a problem. The person I spoke with assured me that it was fine. When I arrived at the hotel, a family was having a heated argument with the desk clerk. Apparently there was an issue cleaning their room - and mine as I was about to find out - so the manager (who wasn't there) had cancelled our bookings without notifying us! The clerk explained that they didn't have our contact info because we'd used third party reservation sites. This all sounded very suspicious. For starters, why was it that the people who checked in last had the issues? The answer was simple: hotels don't make much profit on bookings made through third party sites, so the hotel gave our rooms to people without reservations who were willing to pay more for the rooms. Making matters worse, the clerk would not offer any help whatsoever. We had to find another hotel in the middle of the night! When I got back home I checked my credit card and the cost of the room was not credited; the hotel took my money in addition to whatever the person(s) who got my room that night paid.

I'm very disappointed about this hotel. There were little bugs all over the bathroom. The four…read moredays that I spent here they did not clean my room once. Their only redeeming qualities is that their front desk was kind and helpful when my key card got deactivated twice, and their AC was very cold. Would not go back here again if I'm in the Buffalo Niagara area. would rate it a 1.5 stars out of 5 but they don't have that ability on this site.

There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out, and having the kitchen was a huge bonus. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a nice variety of options to start the day. Check-in was a little slow because the front desk staff seemed overwhelmed, but they were still friendly. The real standout was the staff the next morning at checkout. They went above and beyond by getting us ice for our softball games and providing bottles of water before we headed out. That extra level of kindness and customer service really made a lasting impression. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to families looking for a spacious, comfortable place to stay.

The bathroom shower never fully turned off and the room coffee maker wasn't cleaned out (found cobwebs and the former pod in it). The room itself needed care, and has largely gone un-updated since the 90s. And the "included breakfast" is two cereal options, instant oatmeal, and prepackaged pastries. There was a $50 room security deposit which is paid via cash or card and is refunded after the room is inspected on your last visit. However it wasn't initially made clear to me that's what it was and I needed clarification from another desk clerk. I think for myself I would pay a bit more per night and stay somewhere else.

I had to sleep with open window since the air condition did not help at all. My bathroom sink was broke off the wall and heal up with a piece of 2x4. The smoke detector was missing from the ceiling in the other room, paint were missing from the wall and the bathtub were back at every edges it had inside on and around the mat and the edges of tub. When I paid for the room they asked me $50 deposit, however I should've asked for deposit from them, not to get infected by the morning I wake up. I found The Foundry to be a charming, iconic landmark, celebrating a part of Buffalo's heritage. The Foundry, once a manufacturing plant, built in the early 1900s, for railroad signals. It has been refurbished. Now, it's a chic, modern industrial style hotel and banquet venue in WNY. I really liked the old brick fused with modern string lights and light fixtures/ chandeliers to create a warm vibe. Our servers were working hard and handled everything smoothly. Our dinners were very tasty. The set up for appetizers and gift raffle baskets were in the other larger room. Cash bar for alcoholic drinks. Plenty of space for guests to mingle and walk around. Some guests stepped outside in the lovely central courtyard. Quite surprisingly, there was a nice fire started to sit around in the courtyard into the evening. Most guests were eating the chicken piccata dinner. It was prepared well. Vegetarian offering looked great too, a stuffed squash. This review is strictly for the banquet facility, not the hotel. I did not see nor stay overnight in the hotel. There's plenty of free parking in their lot. Separate bathroom facilities for males and females. Easy to find on Elmwood Avenue near Hertel. Strolled down to the restaurant here at the hotel and ordered me a steak salad. About 15 minutes later out came the salad. Up to the room I went. Open the salad container and found an abundance of salad and a decent amount of steak. They didn't ask me how I wanted the steak, but it came medium to medium well. That's fine. You get a ton of salad and about eight strips of steak. Just what the doctor ordered! Everything about the salad was good. You get a choice of five different dressings. I went with the Italian dressing. It wasn't over the top tangy, I found it to be just right.

Thought nothing about it and was greeted with a full blown meal with some delicious wine. I believe it was all you can eat but honestly one plate was enough. The morning buffet breakfast was ample. The staff seem to be on point and quickly serviced. As everything was available i did not need to reach out to staff. Check in and out was so easy. So yes, i'd definetly return again. Bathroom was a little tight, with sink/mirror in the bedroom and toilet and tub in a separate tiny room. Hard to get in and out of give the smug space. Furniture was a little dated, but having a microwave and full size fridge was great. Really nice breakfast, better than other hotels. Son even played basketball in a court next to the breakfast room surrounded by a net wall. Definitely better than places nearby. Suggest you stay here.
