I check in here every time they play and have seen the rink finally upgrade into providing a nice concession stand like others have done. They serve hot and cold foods now, and overall the *stinky* factor is not bad "Marlborough being the worse." The only thing I see lacking in this rink is the weather control "NATICK being the best so far for temperature and choice seating...you can sit behind the penalty boxes AWESOME!" Unlike the other rinks, their heating is not on par with the rest so a jacket/blanket is def required. I like that they have separate entrances for the teams and they do not have to have the teams walk through the actual lobby to get there (which I have also seen some rinks do "MARLBOROUGH" There is ample parking that is close and a Dunkin's/stores nearby. They had Kpop Demon Hunters playing on repeat, the music throughout the ice rink and then the kids went wild with it during karaoke. I looked around and could not figure out where the screen was (if they even had one) because other songs, kids were mumbling. I do appreciate that there's a middle area where ice skating beginners can practice and learn. They also had laser tag, but no one was interested. Pizza was the best they got for food and kept me full while my niece had fun. There was also a 1 lap race for different age groups and if you were an expert skater, they made you start further back.

I never had to ask for anything. he kept checking in & even filling the popcorn and drinks as they got empty! he also came to me and let me know that he was taking his 15 min break and if I needed anything before he went on it! overall, staff very helpful and professional. the floor workers are great at attending to the little kids as they help skate to the middle of the floor! deff a great place!

Since we didn't get prime ice time, we had practices at 5:30am before school. Luckily, we had practice everyday because the forum never forgot to open up early,. and was always on time.. even at 5am. Some mornings I would lay in bed at 430am.. and pray to god that somebody forgot to open the rink. Never happened. It's a typical ice rink, nothing fancy. The Umass Lowell Riverhawks used to play there.. but they got the new fancy Tsongas Arena in Lowell. They have snack bar with the normal fried rink food and only one section of the bleachers have some sort of heating system type thing. They have free skate and open hockey.. and the guys that sharpen skates in the pro shop are the best. I've probably thrown up here more than any other public place.. so needless to say it holds a special place in my heart.

Any place we've skated in the past has crates for the younger kids, the forum does not allow crates during public skate? The was automatically a downfall with having a toddler but we decided to try it out anyways since we were already there. My son fell while skating and it really scared him, considering he's not even 2 and he's used to using crates to hold on to, so my husband picked him up trying to get him off the ice and out of the way of all the hockey players racing around and slamming into boards. The second my sons feet left the ice a worker was right at my husband telling him to put him down, it was against rink rules to carry children while on the ice(as my son is screaming and crying). Needless to say, my child's safety is more important than your rinks rules. We got a refund and will not be returning.

A lot of staff, some a bit stressed but the guys working prop doors were cool. Six rooms for hockey changing and lots of blue panels taped up to improve the rink sides. While the wifi was poor (the phone signal even worse),it was free, and equivalent to getting 3g or ~LTE service, barely. Parking in front is paved, in the back is gravel. They did manage to be on time during the day (even a bit early) though their final schedule over the weekend came out a bit late for those of us traveling there. Cash concessions and lots of seating.

Came twice so far - once for practice ice and once for a USFSA test session. The arena itself is not too cold. I was able to sit in the stands and though I was chilly, I was not cold. Practice ice involves lots of forms - yes I forged my coaches signature in quite a few places. All staff encountered were super friendly. From saying hello, to happily answering questions, to taking a genuine interest in your skating endeavors. The test session was PROFESSIONALLY run. They kept to the schedule. Kept all non testing personnel in the warming room. And did not allow people to go through the doors while a test was in session. Test results were handed out within minutes of the test conclusion. I realize that 99%+ of the people reading this review probably have no idea about what I'm writing. But if you are a high level figure skater working on the test track - this rink treats you right.

While the rink itself is very clean, modern and actually fairly nice compared to other rinks I've been to, my only complaint being the fact that the parking spots are at the street and not adjacent to the rink, which makes for a short but annoying walk, especially when it's raining or carrying heavy hockey gear. That aside, the interior of the place isn't too cold which is nice for spectators who don't want to freeze their butts off and the ice is of pretty good quality, although it does tend to take a while to freeze over once the zamboni runs. That aside, the locker rooms are numerous, I counted four, are kept clean and warm as well. Sometimes too warm but that's not a bad thing, especially in winter. I have yet to go there for a public ice skating session but would go there in a heartbeat as I find it quite nice.

As I drove past Belmont High and wondered what the mobile home looking things were in the school's parking lot I remembered a very important thing. I can go ice skating for free at the school's rink! So, here's yet another free and fun activity. Pick up a calendar with the times of public and family skating, it is advised that Belmont residents are the only ones who can use the rink. Don't feel like being indoors? NO problem. Right across the street, next to the pool is a little self made rink where some kids were playing ice hockey. I hope you are enjoying the winter sports!!!
