I am trying to eat a clean diet without gluten and there were several good choices here. I had the Broiled Whitefish Parmesan with steamed veggies and it was delicious! I would equate this entire experience to an institutional meal at like a low grade retirement facility or something similar.

There's often specials including on beers and wells. Food menu has greasy favorites. It's about $8 for a burger or a sandwich. Loads of toppings. Big menu but most of it is meaty. There's a few things made with avocado and sprouts, but usually in combination with bacon or something. For sure it has a lot of choices if you're looking for typical bar food. It's located on the street it's named for obviously. They're even open for breakfast, so you can get your drinking on early, while getting eggs and whatever.

Visited during my starved rock state park. I had a stake burrito. Food was soso. But their business attitude was very poor! Got in the store around 2pm which was not a rush hour. Nobody was in the store at the time. The employee was yawning all the time with no greetings. They just looked at us expecting to take the order. Since we were the first time there we spent a few minutes to look at the menu. Then we ordered two stake burritos which was 7.49 each on the menu. During the ordering process the employee didn't say anything. The first word he said was "19.27" I didn't pay attention to the number and just handed my card to him. He swiped the card and gave it back to me. I was expecting a receipt of my meal but he just turned around and went to the kitchen directly! 7.49*2 + tax = 19.27? That's odd! This is how they doing business. Maybe they are the only burrito shop in this small town and the customers have no choice. For me I will visit the starved rock park in the summer but I will never visit this place again. So I wanted to write a review for them to let their customers know that all the owner wants is your money, nothing else! They only earned one star from me for their food! read more

Horrible service !! I go after work to pick up dinner. Wait 10 mins for Mickey to come over ask what I'd like after he finished his personal phone call. I tell him pork burrito and a chicken bowl please. In walks a guy behind behind me. He says Mikey can you get her order I need to take care of my familia So what I'm chopped liver???? Mikey comes over with an attitude asked what I wanted. I say pork burrito and chicken bowl a second time. He starts the pork burrito. And says what's in the bowl. Chicken and before I could say anymore. Well obviously chicken. This is when I shoulda said fuck it and walked out. I continue with what karl and I wanted. Pay $30 for 2 burritos and cheese dip and am treated as if our order didn't matter cause some family member walked in behind me. So not only is Mickey himself a dick so are his employees. So I ate my burrito and felt kinda sick, but that's normal for me when I eat Mexican. The customer restroom was in use so I asked if they had another and they said I could use the one in the back. While making my way through the kitchen I saw full heads of lettuce sitting on the floor next to a filthy looking wall. When I stepped into the bathroom I was blown away. The stench of sewage was overwhelming. I immediately left and on the way out I noticed some kind of slop, most likely food residue, seeping from behind the fake wall panels. I spoke to a blonde woman, who seemed to be intoxicated, about the hygiene. Her casual response was "No one here cares man, I know its not my problem though." At this point I felt sick and took my young children, who had just eaten, and left this "fine establishment". I am disgusted. Never in my life have I seen such filth. read more

This place just has one of the best chicken ensaladas I've ever had. I mean I love them so much I eat them about 3 times a week. Mickey's homemade salad dressings are such a delight and pair so well with his salads! I'm not a heavy eater, so I tend to stay away from the other choices like the burritos - every time I see them they are HUGE!!
