The group classes were very affordable, and we got a lot of tips when we struggled. It is a really great deal. We did a handful of classes and adapted it to our first dance song since we learned a lot of different moves. Neither of us are dancers and she made us feel very comfortable. It feels like a little family there, it is very welcoming. I recommend this for anyone looking for a hobby or new skill, couple, or before weddings. So happy with how it turned out. So many people complimented our first dance.

They hold all kinds of parties around town as well. It was a very affordable $8 ($7 with student ID) for not only one but up to 3 classes that evening (Salsa 2, Salsa 3, and Bachata) I've been looking for new ways to get exercise that aren't about the typical gym work out... and this one is a great fit.

They don't put any limits on the class size and there are way too many people for the size of the room. The classes don't start on time because of the long line to get in and poor management. They will also require people to go through their beginner classes to get to the higher level classes even if they have experience and don't need them. They have rock bottom prices with their Groupon specials (which attracts a lot of people,) but it would be better to pay a little bit more to go to a professional studio.

My daughter has been taking piano with Jeff for close to 2 years. Jeff is a fantastic piano…read moreteacher. He teaches her workbook chords, classical pieces and current radio songs. She certainly gets a lot of variety. He goes above and beyond to arrange music to her level by either enhancing a piece or simplifying it for her. If she doesn't have the music for a song they wish to work on, he has gone out of his way to hunt down the music, and then arrange it individually for her. I especially love the duets they do together on the piano, but in addition, she certainly learns pieces by herself. He has taken a child who knew absolutely nothing about playing piano, and turned her into to a child learning songs using both hands simultaneously. The studio has private practice rooms with a window in the door. I am able to peek in on her lesson at any time I wish to see how she is doing. Jeff also explains to me as a parent what she should be working on at home, and how she is progressing. My daughter also started dance at Michigan Academy this past fall. Michigan Academy went out of their way to welcome her also as a dance student. Mrs. Lisa and all the dance teachers are extremely approachable. I can not even put into words how refreshing that is. When choosing a dance studio, I have learned that it is extremely important to know that the staff are approachable. They really welcome all questions and take their time with all students and their families in a professional manner. This makes for a comfortable environment that students thrive in, and parents also feel comfortable because we as parents are never left in the dark and everything is always explained. Truly stress free. You can tell immediately that they really truly care about all students in regards to their dance education, empowering the child's self esteem, and helping them grow as individuals, even outside of dance. The dance teachers at Michigan Academy also go above and beyond. Recently, when my daughter asked what she could work on at home to improve, Mrs.Rebecca went out of her way and made a list of ideas for her that she could do at home. She gave her suggestions, such as, straddle split rolls and barre work that she could do on her own time. As you can see, the dance teachers really take the time to help the students with their individual dance goals. Michigan Academy is a place for all ages and all levels! Every student is welcomed, appreciated, and celebrated. I highly recommend Michigan Academy to any child interested in dance or music. My daughter couldn't be happier at Michigan Academy and I also couldn't be happier that we found this studio.

I could write a book about this place. But to sum up:…read more They are very unprofessional - their classes do not start, or end, on time. Not a single parent will complain or even ask about this. There is a very obvious fear among them that if they were to say anything perceived of as negative, the teachers will take it out on their child. They play favorites with the dancers (on this they will merely claim that I am disgruntled or that my child was not at the top - neither of which is true) Parents become unpaid labor as they are pressured to "volunteer" (if a company that's been around as long as Taylor Dance has and can't afford to hire employees, something is very wrong at the top. They very plainly do *not* have the safety of the children in mind and are clearly out for making money only. At the height of the pandemic they did not mandate masks until pressured by the city to do so. At least two of them contracted covid during one wave and were mysteriously missing. One for a week, the other for even longer. Every single parent knew they had covid, but to keep the money flowing Taylor Dance kept it hidden. Special note: When they get a bad review online, they send out emails to the parents asking them to rush and post good reviews to counter-act it. These good reviews are not real. They are from parents trying to please the owners to secure a better standing for their child. I could go on, and maybe I will when I have more time. Final note: There are far more professional and far more caring schools to choose from
