This is the Bacon Mushroom Onion Poutine. 10/10. This was phenomenal!

My wife and I stopped here to have our first taste of poutine. Let me say, this was both a good and a bad thing. The bad part is that it set a standard for all other poutine which has not been met for me yet. They are very reasonably priced and the portion size is well worth the money. I will definitely be going back here on my next trip to Canada.

I am SHOCKED this place didn't already have a YELP home with a million positive reviews!! Michelle's Fries have won "best fries" in Niagara for the past couple of years and if you see the photo I posted you can see why. He imports the gravy and squeaky cheese from Montreal and makes the fries himself fresh for each order. It was the best thing me and my husband had the weekend we spent in Niagara Falls. We had some wak Poutine from the Flying Saucer the night before. No competition. We also had the pulled pork sandwich- which was tasty and one of the patrons recommended the fish sandwich. Everything was reasonably priced -the bill for the poutine (large), pulled pork sandwich, and a soda came to $12. Other things to note is the tented seating space next to the trailer for inclement weather and how incredibly wonderful and kind John (the owner) and Jackie (who has worked there 10 of the 25 years they have been open) are. They even gave us a tour of the inside of their truck where the magic happens. All their patrons feel the same way I feel it seems - as they lined up outside the truck Tuesday afternoon. One gentleman said "I come religiously, it's either church or Michelle's, so ofcourse I am going to Michelle's"- to which the lady behind him replied "I go to both!" :) The food stand is a 10 minute drive from the hotels/Niagara Falls viewing area on the Canada side. The trip is definitely worth it for authentic food, best poutine outside of Montreal, playful nature of John, Jackie, and their patrons, and for more "eh?"s than you could ask for!!

Small poutine. $4.50

I know that Mercyhurst has the Culinary Cab, but as far as I know, Ernies is the only truly…read moreconsistent food truck in the Erie, PA scene. Of course, that's a shame, but lets hope that the presence of Ernies leads to more people taking the time to get the permits, figure out the logistics, and take this risk. Located on weekdays during work hours at Perry Square, Ernies is a small, locally-owned food truck that offers up Erie's own Smith hot dogs, Italian sausages, hamburgers, turkey burgers, cheesesteaks, steak wraps, BLTs, pulled pork sandwiches, and more. It's a safe menu, sure, but Ernies makes every meal fresh and made-to-order. This means that it takes a little longer (my Italian sausage with onions and peppers took probably 6-7 minutes), but being so fresh and at an extremely reasonable price of $4, it was well worth the wait - especially considering the guys behind the counter were personable and more than willing to chat with me while they were cooking, as it wasn't too busy. From out of town and need to get a fresh Smith's hot dog (aka the best hot dog on the planet)? Here's your chance. As much as I love Sara's for what it is, I've never liked that their dogs sit on the burners for way too long. Here, you don't have to worry about that. Support these guys. They're local... and if they do well, who knows? We could very well see some more of these pop up downtown (how about an El Canelo taco truck, a place with Lake Erie perch fish tacos, Erie pierogies and pepperoni balls, etc.?).
