In fact, it was a game day on Saturday and that's a big deal in Texas, but they chose to still work with us. They showed us properties in north, south and central as my sister wasn't familiar with the area and wanted to review all options. I worked with JoAnne as the Property Manager for the condo that I was leasing for the past 2.5 years and it was an up and down journey. Sometimes she was really kind (for example, she put together my coffee table and lowered rent for us on behalf of the owners one of the years that we were re-signing as an incentive for us to stay) and other times she would be insensitive (she once yelled at me on the phone because she was having a bad day while I tried to calmly sort out some requests we had for the condo and my roommate recorded this conversation; we were appalled). In addition, she sent passive aggressive emails and we had to do the best we could to bite our tongues. In the words of Maya Angelou - "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." I will never forget how JoAnne made me feel. It was not as pleasant of an experience as I had hoped it would have been but there is a silver lining in all of this...my roommates and I got almost our entire security deposit back. I hope this info will help some of you (renters especially) as you consider renting from owners that have Violet Crown Realty as their property managers.

Carmen Kim was so awesome to work with the the home buying process! She set up a consultation…read moremeeting with us to determine our needs and figure out what we wanted in a home. She then set up regular e-mails through the MLS for us to look at and let her know our thoughts so she could help narrow our search for the right home. When a house suddenly came available for us to get in on quickly, she was very quick with communication both on our end and with the builder. She made sure that we were the first in on this home because she knew it wouldn't last. Plus her standing positive relationship with the builder helped us out immensely to get in on it before the house even hit the market! Additionally, she celebrated the victories throughout the process including when out offer was accepted on this house and when we accepted an offer on the house we we selling, even though we were working with another realtor in another city for that sale. Lastly, Carmen did everything she could to help take the stress off of us. I was 6 months pregnant during the time we found a house and were closing. She did what she could to take things off of my to-do list to help make my life less stressful. She went above and beyond in this area. When we realized the house we were buying didn't come with blinds, Carmen called a blind company on our behalf, set up the appointment for the windows to be measured and managed all the communication with the company. This helped to take that worry off of my plate. I cannot recommend Carmen enough!

My girlfriend and I decided to start looking at homes in June 2020. We found Tony online and loved his reviews. After touring our first house, we started asking him basic, first time home buyer questions about the market, the process and what we needed to make an offer. We knew nothing. Tony patiently took us through everything. There was never any pressure to commit to him or anything. Never did he make us feel like we were dumb for asking something. All he did was answer our questions and say that he is available whenever we wanted to see more houses. It was just positive vibes throughout. The Austin market is crazy, and we saw 30+ houses over the next few months. We lost out on 5 offers. Throughout the process, Tony never pressured us to make an offer, nor to raise our offer. He evaluated every opportunity with us. He listened to our thoughts, and added perspective if we asked. He was our partner. Always knowledgeable always patient. And I hesitate to advertise this because I know he has a family, but he was also almost always available. We felt like we were a team and he was always looking out for our best interest. When we were our most frustrated, Tony assured us that we would get something. He told us not to give up. When we finally had an offer accepted, Tony was as excited as we were. He helped us with everything - mortgage, inspection, and even recommending contractors to work on our house. Tony was willing and advise us long after the deal was done. He clearly just enjoys helping people. I can't imagine having gone through this sometimes stressful process with anyone other than Tony, and I'm so grateful we found him. She was very knowledgeable about the neighborhoods I was looking at (central and east austin), and was super flexible and available to show me houses when I was available.
