When I started my workout journey about 6 months ago, I decided I needed to find a Trainer that would help me with the basics of how to properly lift weights and nutrition. I am so glad I found Michelle! She has been so instrumental in helping me understand what I should be eating to support my workouts. She provides weekly communication that include meal ideas, health hacks, helpful supplements and mind/body techniques that's expanded my knowledge of how to take care of my body. With being new to lifting weights, I love that she takes her time explaining proper form and the muscles you are engaging with each workout. She's designed a program that works for my body and I always walk away feeling accomplished after each workout. I've seen such an improvement already with my body definition, energy levels and my general attitude about how I approach working out. Michelle is very knowledgeable and highly experienced in the health & fitness space. I highly recommend her regardless of where you're at in your fitness journey! read more

I've trained with Michelle for just over a year. Had she not moved out of California, I'd probably be working with her for at least the next 5 years! When I first started working with Michelle, I was feeling out of shape and lacked confidence. Over the course of my time working with her, she helped me to get stronger and feel great. I always felt like my workouts were customized to my abilities but also to continue to push me. She listened to my feedback on workouts and really honed in on what I enjoyed but also what I needed. When I first started I hated the lunges! But now I've got them down and they're one of my favorite exercises in the rotation. In addition to the workouts, she also spent a lot of time with me focused on nutrition and diet, as well as mindset. I have a high stress profession but my my twice-a-week sessions with Michelle were always a great stress relief and provided an outlet to reset my mindset and attitude. She also sent weekly reminders about nutrition and mindset. There was a period of time that I was working to establish a routine of eating breakfast. She texted me every morning to help keep me accountable. In addition to my twice weekly sessions, Michelle also loaded workouts into the Trainerize app. This allowed me to do a third workout on my own each week. Also was very helpful when I was on vacation - even if I was going to missing my in person session, I could still do the workout on my own. I would definitely recommend Michelle's services to others. I've really enjoyed getting to know her over the least year and wish she could continue to train me. read more

I have been training with Michelle since May 2019. Prior to this, I was in physical therapy for upper back issues. Over the past year and a half, Michelle has been instrumental in my journey of recovery, improved physical fitness, and increased strength. She started with a detailed assessment of where I was and we were able to progressively make measurable improvements in my strength, general fitness, and ultimately, my health. My sessions with Michelle included one-on-one as well as group settings. Even in a group, she would tailor the workouts to suit our individual abilities and offer a high level of personal attention. All this was before COVID-19. During this pandemic, personal training has shifted to Zoom. Compared to the gym we used to use, I had no exercise equipment. Michelle adapted. My training now uses a combination of resistance bands and body weight, and this is working out really well. In spite of the inherent limitations of the online medium, she is able to catch my mistakes and correct my form! Personal health and fitness is a complex issue for most people, and nutrition undeniably plays a role in it. In this context, Michelle gives me broad guidance while affording me plenty of freedom to figure out how to get there. This has helped me form sustainable habits. If you can afford personal training, I would unequivocally recommend Michelle - you're unlikely to find a more committed trainer! read more

I started working with Michelle short of a year ago in March 2024, in her fitness studio in Henderson NV. Michelle is genuine and professional and is a master of her trade. Michelle's continuous curiosity about health and wellbeing and her commitment to reaching and maintaining a positive attitude about life is generously shared with her clients. Her knowledge base is broad and well sourced and is evident in everything she does and how she lives. Personal workouts are carefully crafted, measured and explained. She's consistent, gentle and encouraging and offers a broad spectrum of tools (digital training assists, newsletters, social engagement, videos, text helps and meal menus, exercise tips, personalized applications, and more) to assist all her clients in their fitness journey. Michelle is a great coach. If you are looking to learn and achieve improved physical and nutritional health, to improve your attitude and mindset while having some fun along the way then reach out to Michelle and engage her services. I've had the recent pleasure to workout with Michelle. She is super knowledgeable and enthusiastic in sharing her knowledge with her clients. She will not just support your weight and training goals through workouts, but also coach you regarding eating right and the overall lifestyle decisions we all make daily. She thorough in her approach and very personable. Everything you may want in a personal trainer. Highly recommended! read more

I took entirely too long to write this review!!! I would recommend Michelle to anyone without a second's hesitation. She gives you SO much more than just a personal trainer would! I trained with Michelle a little under a year with my primary goal being weight loss. I didn't achieve weight loss (I was gaining muscle), but the other benefits I got were so much more than I could have ever expected. I did her mindset and nutrition coaching and it was beyond worth it. I went into this thinking I already had a healthy diet and BOY did I learn a lot lol. I guess I should give some backstory as to my journey before Michelle. I had personal trainers in the past that pushed me super hard to the point where I didn't want to go back to them. I had reservations about picking up another trainer because of my past experiences but when my dieting progress came to a halt I knew I needed to add exercise in to keep going. Michelle quickly showed me she wasn't like all those other trainers I had before. She was very understanding and always checked in on how I was feeling before each session. If I had high energy she'd give me more challenging tasks, if I was low energy she would adjust my plan accordingly. Other trainers push you to get you to do more, Michelle makes her atmosphere so calm and positive that you want to push yourself to do more. (I hope that makes sense!) I always looked forward to sessions with her because I felt so amazing afterward and I quickly started seeing progress. I was lifting more, tiring less, and my overall energy improved tenfold. As for the mindset coaching, I always thought I was an optimistic/positive person, but Michelle helped me realize how much negative language I actually had with myself. With her guidance and training, I actually was able to conquer most of my daily anxiety. As for the gym, she's currently operating out of Cooper Sports Performance. They are a small privately owned gym and the only people there are with trainers. It's a very focused, calm, positive and clean environment. All of the staff and trainers there are super friendly as well. But I think the true benefits have been after my training ended. She taught me ultimately to be kind and patient with myself, which has paid off more than I can possibly write in a review, but it's allowed me to keep up my motivation. Before if I fell off the horse either with diet or exercise, I would tell myself "why can't you just get this right. It isn't that hard. Why even try anymore you're just going to fail again" to now "it's ok. This happens. Just remember how you felt when you were doing good. You can get back to it again because you've done it before!" I could probably go on for days about all the good I've gotten in my life from this experience! But I'll spare you reading :) If you're on the fence, do it! You'll gain so much with her! :) I've lost almost a full 2 inches off my thighs, an inch around my waist, I feel SO much better, I can move better and tire less quickly, I'm nicer to myself and know how to check in on how I'm doing mentally and physically. read more

First off: Michelle is the best. trainer. ever. hands down. When I started my search for a trainer I had a horrible mental image of being screamed at while doing endless burpees and possibly throwing up and crying. Thankfully for me, Michelle is the antithesis of that stereotype. Her training is a mix of positivity, tough love, encouragement, scientific knowledge and passion for her craft. She is incredibly thoughtful about the way she trains people; making sure that the weight is exactly right, and tailoring workouts around injuries and skill levels. She also gives wonderful advice on nutrition, and is always finding something new and exciting to recommend. After training with Michelle, I have noticed such side effects as; 1. Feeling strong AF 2. Not feeling shy or embarrassed about working out in a gym around other humans 3. Actually ENJOYING lifting heavy things, putting them down, and then picking them up again. 4. Loosing weight/inches but not caring because it's more of a side effect of listening to my body and taking care of myself in general. 5. Butt looking great This is my last month training with Michelle, but she has given me the tools and confidence to continue my fitness journey on my own. I am SO happy about what we've accomplished in such a short time, and want to 100% recommend her to anyone considering a personal trainer. Thanks Michelle! read more

I can't say enough great things about Michelle! I'm so happy I found her. I hate the "gym membership " atmosphere. I love the personal aspect of her work. Michelle has built an amazing home gym and has all state of the art equipment. But best of all, she creates a personal program to fit your needs, lifestyle and goals. She helped me gain strength back after 2 traumatic injuries/surgeries. I went to her for strength training, but she also helped me with improving my nutrition. She meets you where you are. If you are in Henderson or Vegas, she is worth it!! read more

Michelle hands down is a GREAT trainer all around! I started seeing her 10 years ago and over time I have seen her through life's changes like preparing for my wedding, preparing for birth, post delivery, and now as I am closing the chapter of baby making ;) all in all, Michelle is very thorough and highly educated and informative in all things necessary to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. I would have struggled without her and she has taught and continues to teach me so much about how I can be a better version of myself! Michelle, thank you for holding me accountable of my goals and educating me along the way. As you say, there is no better investment than investing in yourself. You are awesome! read more

Wow! Michelle Adams Personal training really is the real deal! She never missed a beat even during the covid shutdowns, she adapted her business to video chat workouts, which for me works great, having a home gym helps, but we also do a lot of body weight work, band work & she can really make a workout with whatever you have in your house. I have been training 3x/week with Michelle for more than 10 years now! Definitely time to update the review! Still loving my workouts every time! I love that she never stops learning, never stops improving herself so she can help others to improve themselves too! She is real, honest and loyal & no BS... She creates customized workouts, pushes you when you need it or want it, and works around injuries to help with healing. read more

Michelle Adams Personal Training - Got back in shape after gaining some stress weight... change over 4 mo. (~18 lb. lost) - Trainers Near Me

Michelle is the real deal. Seriously. I was a client of hers for nutrition, and the results were phenomenal! I lost 20 lbs slow and steady over 4.5 months, while eating everything I wanted to. I've tried a lot of different exercise and nutrition programs over the years, including those overhyped 6 week 20 lb challenges at various bootcamp gyms. (I wouldn't even lose 10 lbs in those 6 week programs for what it's worth.) Michelle actually helped me pull it all off in a way that was much easier than what I imagined! I could not be more happy with the results, and now that I know how to eat right, losing even more weight will not be a problem. To make things even better, she's the sweetest person you'll ever meet, and so dedicated to what she does. Thank you so much for everything you do Michelle! read more

I've been working with Michelle for 10 years. She is a true professional and very passionate about all that she does. Michelle leads by example and practices what she preaches with regards to her own training, nutrition and mind set. I loved training with her because not only did she push me, but I was learning and being educated about the importance of nutrition in reaching your health goals. She has taught me so much over the years. I have also participated in her 12 week mind set coaching and again she is so passionate about this. I've learned techniques and tools that will serve me a life time and make me a better person every day and with everyone. Don't hesitate to reach out to her. You will be glad you did! read more

I've been training with Michelle for the past 4 months and oh boy, did I hit the jackpot? Michelle is an amazing trainer! I was going through some physical issues and challenges and was looking for a trainer who could cater to my specific situation and needs. Also, I was looking to complement my exercise with the right nutrition to make it even more effective. Michelle provided me with all of this! I've not had even a single back issue (I've a demanding desk job) since I started training with her. I feel more energetic and can take care of thousands of tasks that come with having a full time job plus being a mom of 2 daughters and a fur baby. I highly highly recommend Michelle. read more

Michelle is hands down the best trainer. I was frustrated with my weight and decided I needed some professional guidance. I found Michelle on yelp and decided to reach out. She contacted me right away and within a few days, I was already in the gym working out with her. Michelle is passionate about what she does and practices what she preaches! Her style is a mix of encouragement, motivation, positivity, pushing you to the next level, and holding you accountable. She pays attention to all the details making sure your form is correct and you are resting in between sets. She gives incredible advice on maintaining your health overall (mind, body, nutrition). I've been training with Michelle for 8 months now and here are the changes I've noticed: * ENERGY - I have more energy now than I ever have * CONFIDENCE - I'm not embarrassed about working out and have a new found love of lifting weights * POSITIVE MINDSET - Everyday is a work in progress. It's the small steps that get you to where you want to be. "Progress not perfection" (one of Michelle's famous lines). * I LOVE WORKING OUT - I used to hate working out but now I can't wait until my next workout with Michelle and working out on my own * RESULTS - My body feels incredible. I'm stronger than ever and on a journey to get into the best shape ever, and maintain it as it is now a lifestyle change. Michelle helps you set the right foundation (if you were a beginner like me) or can help you in whatever fitness stage you are at. She is truly an incredible trainer and human being. I started off with an email inquiry. In that email I made it clear that I was interested in training to get stronger but not diet advice. I know many trainers consider themselves nutrition experts but they're not. Just because you know what to eat to keep weight down or what to eat to build muscle that becomes visible in a specific way, again, doesn't make you a Nutritionist or a Dietician. When we spoke on the phone after this inquiry the first issue was she confused me with someone else. Apparently two people had inquired of her services near the same time. Didn't love that as it didn't make me feel valued as a potential client, and how hard is it to keep a mere two people straight? Even though I'd already set the boundary in my email inquiry of not wanting nutrition advice and already said that I was dealing with that on my own, she brought it up anyway, pushing me to explain what my 'plan' was for dealing with that side of things! Uhhh...my 'plan' is just that, MY plan and not your concern. Crazy as it sounds there do exist in the world, people like me who want to work out for reasons other than weight, and that's why I was there. In addition to her pushing the food topic there was another troubling aspect of the phone call. I shared a personal health diagnosis with her as I felt it was relevant to a potential fitness plan, and she proceeded to grill me on how I'm dealing with it, and aggressively pushing multiple types of advice on me. She is NOT a doctor and has NO business advising people on their disorders/diseases, even if she has experience with something similar. Her tone was completely condescending, speaking as if she knew what was better for me and what I needed more than me and my doctor do. The nerve! Ultimately, trainers need to remember that people have all sorts of relationships and struggles with food out there, and that they are in no place to handle that, and it's not their business no matter how much they'd like it to be. It's different if someone is prepping for a bodybuilding competition or something, but most people are not. Food advice should only be given if someone asks, and if they tell you that they don't want to talk about their diet, than back off and respect that. And I can't believe I even have to say this but they also have absolutely NO business giving medical advice. Even doctors have no business giving people medical advice who aren't their patients. read more

I have been training with Michelle for a little over 6 months now. It's something that I look forward to every week not only because Michelle gets my booty in shape but she is totally fun to be around. Prior to hiring Michelle I had never worked out consistently in my life and I had NEVER lifted weights. I was worried that I would feel weak and out of shape but Michelle is so encouraging that I never once felt that way. She trains in a way where you never feel like you're going to die, but certainly pooped in a good way by the time you walk out :) Since I only see her once a week she programs my other workouts into a personalized app which is totally invaluable for when I go to the gym on my own. In fact, Michelle even came with me to my big gym because I told her I was intimidated to be in the weight room. She showed me around and gave me the confidence I needed to feel comfortable. Another thing I love is that she's a stickler for form, ensuring that you are working your muscles in the most efficient way and also preventing injury. I am THRILLED with the changes I've seen in such a short time and for the first time ever I feel fit and strong. Hiring Michelle is one of the best gifts I have ever given myself. read more

Michelle is hands down one of the best people I have been fortunate enough to meet. If you want to make a significant change in your health and your life, I highly recommend that you contact Michelle! I had reached a point where I didn't even want to look in a mirror at myself and knew I needed to make a change. So I contacted Michelle after reading all of the fantastic reviews here on Yelp, and I am so glad that I did! I had joined and quit gyms for years, primarily because I did not enjoy working out in crowded spaces with hoards of sweaty strangers. And because I didn't really know what I was doing! Michelle offers the perfect alternative and solution; one-on-one training customized for ME, and about me. She will get to know you and your style, your physical strengths and limitations - and plan your training sessions accordingly. Michelle is always available via email and text, which is very beneficial and appreciated. I started working with Michelle July 16th, 2018. Best decision !! As an overweight 50+ something lady, I had let my bad nutrition habits take over and my weight reflected that. Walking up the stairs at BART made me huff and puff, and the thought of having to "live at the gym" doing cardio to reverse this and find health and lose weight, was daunting. I had never worked with a personal trainer so was not sure what to expect. I anticipated focused workouts, with weights, strength training, goal setting and accountability to meet the goals. What I found is all of that, and MUCH, MUCH more! Michelle is super fun and easy to talk with. That is important because you want to be able to communicate easily with your trainer about goals, problems, successes, concerns, likes/dislikes, etc. The surprises I found: It's not just lift weights, count reps and go home. It is full body workouts, that focus on strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, all tailored to where you are in the process. So whether you are already fit, and want to take it to the next level, or have been sitting on the couch, she can provide the workout best suited for YOU. Amazing help with nutrition tips, recipes, strategies to help you through those areas that you might struggle with. Out of the gym she checks in with us, via text/email and the Facebook group to see how we are doing, how are we feeling post workout? I've learned more tweaks on my eating which has really helped, how to add healthy protein to meals, and what to eat in between meals to keep energy up and blood sugars level and not be hungry. The accountability is really helpful. To track what you do, eat and how you are feeling, all helps her, help you. Have I lost weight? YES! Have I lost inches? YES! In the 2 1/2 months I've been working with Michelle I am seeing results! It's fun putting on clothes that are no longer tight. I now power up the stairs at BART and feel much stronger and better. And this is all doable,....it's not a crash course/quick fix. Managing your nutrition does not mean starving. It means eating clean and healthy and not being hungry. You don't have to spend 20 hours at the gym every week. I train with Michelle 2 days a week, and try to hit the gym for cardio for 2 days a week, or add some walks/hikes in and I am making progress. (Building muscle will help you so much in the weight loss journey!) Michelle is helping me to achieve my fitness/health goals that I was unable to do on my own. I am very thankful she is on this journey with me!!! read more

Michelle is the type of trainer that I have been searching for, and when I say "searching" I really mean that. In the past I've experienced a long fitness journey (over 8 years) of trying out so many different programs, diets (both medical and fad), and workouts. Michelle really is a one-stop-shop for me because she has combined the physical, nutritional, and mental aspects to living a healthy life and has tailored them to suit my goals. It is so comforting to finally have my mind, body, and spirit on a good track for once. Michelle specializes in strength training, fat loss, body recomposition, and functional training. She does personal training, distance training, as well as health coaching. My husband and I have been training with her for a few months now, and we both see her at different times so she can individualize our training and health coaching. Since we are incorporating health coaching into our program Michelle has a weekly 30-minute conference call with each of us to check in with how our body is responding to the workouts and eating habits. These calls really help because it keeps us going in the right direction, and for myself, it keeps me in a positive head space. Michelle really is available to us 24/7, all lines of communication are open to us, and she encourages us to call or text her if we ever need her. I especially love how Michelle is not afraid to use technology and the apps on our phones to keep track of what we are doing. The accountability of our program is like no other that I have experienced, I really feel like she is with us each step of the way. Another stand out thing that I love about Michelle is before each one of my sessions, she always asks what my energy level is. The reason being is I have a thyroid issue and some days my energy level is just not there. She understands the importance of not overworking your central nervous system; she knows that at times your body is capable of handling a super tough workout and that other times you have to take it easy. Michelle's knowledge allows her to be able to change your workout on the spot depending on energy level or if she notices you are unable to do something properly. The change doesn't take away from the level of difficulty, trust me! Michelle knows how to swap out one move for the next which can be equally as difficult but not as strenuous on the body. I absolutely love where Michelle trains us, at Cooper Sports Performance in Dublin. Their website is http://www.coopersportsperformance.com. It's an awesome facility, super clean, tons of natural sunlight, and so many different types of equipment. To name a few: plates for three olympic platforms, squat racks, 35 yard sprint track, outdoor sled push, state of the art dumbbells, slide board, leg press machine, power runner machine, reverse hyper extension machine, battle ropes, and so much more. I've personally used a majority of the items listed. It's been great to do so many different types of workouts that target different areas of the body, it keeps things fresh and not boring. I am excited to see what my fitness journey with Michelle will lead me. So far I know that I am definitely getting stronger both mentally and physically! read more

Michelle is a complete package. She not only helps with exercises but also guides us with proper nutrition, supplements and even helped me with planning my workout routine for the days when i don't have a session with her. I joined Michelle a few months back when I had hit a plateau with my workout routine. I was recovering from a bad knee injury which restricted my movements and I had put on a few lbs as a result. Even after working out 6 days a week i wasn't seeing any progress and and hence decided to join Michelle to get some expert guidance. Michelle was very empathetic from the get go and she quickly understood what my goals were and put me on a 8 week workout plan. At the end of the 8 weeks I had lost about 6lbs (exactly where i wanted to be) so that was a win! I love her sessions as she keeps switching things up and never lets it get boring. She's very dedicated and follows up with me during the week to make sure i'm on track and not being lazy. :) Hands down the best trainer I have ever worked with! read more

We are still going strong with Michelle keeping us on track with our fitness and nutrition!

Michelle is absolutely FANTASTIC. She has been my nutrition coach for over two months now with great results. I had been on Weight Watchers for more than 2 years before I began working with Michelle, so I was pretty nervous to start a new program I wasn't sure I could stick to. However, Michelle listened to my concerns and gave me a plan that has been flexible and easy to follow. With her guidance, I've broken through a months-long weight loss plateau and gained invaluable knowledge about my eating habits along with the appropriate strategies to face them head on. Michelle is available whenever I have questions, she checks in with me when she knows things are rough, and our weekly phone calls are a great source of encouragement. I'm also working toward a specific fitness goal and she has given me great advice while keeping that goal in mind as we work together. I highly recommend Michelle for your fitness and nutritional needs. She is well worth it! read more

I started working out with Michelle since March 2016 and I have lost 30 lbs to-date (or 2 lbs/week). I tell my family and friends that I attribute this achievement to her great coaching skills, and she's a terrific motivator. Not only is she very meticulous on her methods (she actually times me "every second" from start to finish), but she also has a wealth of knowledge on nutrition. I learned what type of foods to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had my annual physical check-up two weeks ago (which I dread of going every year) and my doctor was astounded of my results. She told me that I'm her ideal patient as ALL my lab results came out normal. I was borderline diabetic for several years (A1C of 6.6), and now I'm completely normal. My doctor cut down 1 of my 2 BP meds. Cholesterol is at 135. My sciatica nerve pain (lower back pinched nerve) has also diminished by her recommended stretching techniques that I initially did not like (or even hate), but now I actually do it on a daily basis. If you're "committed" to improving your health, Michelle will guide you all the way both physical and nutritional. read more

I think it's time to update my review. It is now less than a year from my original review and I continue making amazing progress with Michelle's help. I am no longer a gym rookie so my perspective has changed. I no longer get excited just because I lost another pound. Now it's more about knowing your body, growing muscle, gaining power, and feeling energetic. Michelle had made me reconsider my nutrition habits and now I reap the benefits of that like crazy! She is seriously knowledgeable in this area and I, myself an avid and adventurous cook, trust her nutritional advice with no hesitation. Simply because I see that advice working. I am now down 32 pounds and have a significantly better body quality. I can honestly say that I would not have been able to do it without Michelle's service; both training and nutritional advice. Too bad I did not take the "before and after" pictures to share...too late for that and I am never going back to the "before"! read more
