Designs look really nice. From the first phone call I picked up on her being a little pushy but thought maybe it's just me. The next day at the consult my wife felt the exact same way. She asked upon arrival that we wear a mask even after informing her we are vaccinated. She was even argumentative It's June 2021 and CDC guidance is clear on vaccinated folks. We are recommended by a community group member for this designer. We made an appointment with her and she mentioned there will be a consultation fee of $250. During the consultation she asked for $2000 for the design fee. We signed a very rough paper contract. After several days, she said the design was ready for presentation and would like to setup an appointment with us. But during this pandemic we think we prefer her to do the virtual presentation instead of in-person in her office. She refused our request and since then no more response whatsoever from her. It was a very bad experience with this design studio and won't recommend to anyone else. read more

We picked Michell based on Yelp reviews and she immediately impressed us with her responsiveness to her contact form - we were reached out to right away. She worked with our busy schedule and squeezed in a paint consultation in the midst of the final walkthrough of the new home with the seller's realtor. This review is long overdue. I went to Home Depot and chose a gray color for my garage, but it came out powder blue! Even though I got the color from the gray section. So I found michell storay design and I simply asked her for paint colors for my garage and front door and the result was so good! I haven't painted my door yet due to the pandemic shortages. Hiring Michell Storay Design was the best thing to happen to us after we bought a house with an open floor plan which presented a decorating challenge for me and my husband. Michell has a talent for what she does, and she has a super good eye for detail. From the moment she walked into our home, her mind was already assessing our large family room and what the possibilities were. She listened to what I like as far as colors, patterns and furniture style and that was all she needed to put together what is now the best part of our house. Michell was the project manager for every aspect of the family room remodel including the painter, electrician, cabinet maker, etc. This was in addition to shopping and ordering furniture, drapes, light fixtures and accessories. We worked with Michell on several interior projects that went well, so hired her for a more substantial project designing and project managing an enclosed outdoor patio room. After our initial deposit, she completed the work with the architect and submitted the plans to the county. After 7 months of waiting (while she told us the county was at fault) we contacted the county directly and were able to get the project approved ourselves. We got the approval to Michell and waited another 30 days while she was confirming a contractor/start date, before she notified us that she was overbooked and could no longer manage our project without it affecting her health. We made a significant deposit she is refusing to refund under a "no refunds" policy, despite the fact that the decision to quit was hers. We are now forced to look at legal recourse to recoup our funds. Beware working with someone so unscrupulous. read more

We bought our house new in 1990. All the years we had the same boring white walls,beige carpet,90's decor. We did have a contractor come in2011 to remodel the kitchen and master bath. We were talked into marble floors for both. In just a matter of months we started having problems with both. The kitchen floor started turning yellow,the shower floor had water damage. The kitchen in no way blended with the rest of the house,black,gray and white. We also needed more color on the walls but not sure where to start. Best thing we ever did was call Michell! I cannot express enough gratitude for Michell's work at my office. She did a wonderful revitalization to my workspace. With my busy schedule, I needed someone to take care of this project from start to finish. I can recommend to you with ONE HUNDRED percent confidence that Michell is the one you want. I showed her a couple of pictures of what I liked and she took some pictures of my office so she can render drawings of what to expect for my renovation. My start date was about a month from when we met due to my schedule. During that time she had her team come in during non-office hours to take measurements. I really appreciated that she did not interrupt my office time. When it was time for the work to be done, I wanted to peek, but she wanted me to be surprised and didn't let me look. Monday morning came around and the moment I walked in, my jaw dropped to the ground and I couldn't believe that it was my office. It was GORGEOUS! After a couple of minutes of shrieking and jumping with excitement, I noticed that she did a couple of things that we did not talk about doing, but I'm so glad that she did it. She definitely enhanced the space. Michell has the magic touch! She placed a couple of "before" pictures to remind me what the office used to look like.
