Shoes, are one of those things that I don't mind spending money on, as a ill fitting, bad quality shoe will make you pay in other ways. However, there's an exception to that rule, it's when I'm only going to be wearing it for a one time special occasion, or maybe a few times, for a few hours and limited walking. These aren't traveling shoes, they're drinking and dancing shoes. They need to look nice, and be reasonably comfortable and work with whatever I bought to wear for the evening. At a price of 40 bucks, if they fall apart after one night I won't cry, these look like they'll even go for a bit longer. I also hit the clearance rack and found a great pair of business pumps reduced twice, those were 15 bucks, can't complain about that. Will this be a destination place for shoes? Probably not, however, I will stop in more often to take a you never know...look.

When I told her "there are 20 min left, right?" She proceeded to tell me 10 minutes because they had things to do to close up. Yeesh. Talk about making customers feel unwelcome! Plus, no one was in the store, max 3x customers, but one staff member kept complaining about how they were short-staffed. Give me a break If no one shops there you have no job. I'll never go back to this location, what an unpleasant experience and for what? Because they wanted to rush customers out so they could close up early. I have worked retail, and while I understand wanting to go home, you shouldn't make customers feel unwelcome. I found a pair of boots but was so stressed out by the 3 ladies there I couldn't wait to get out and breathe.

Since my last visit, they've moved to this new location on State Street (right across from the Walgreens), and the service is still top-tier! Everyone who helped me was super nice and friendly. In addition to Hugo, there were three other staff members helping me track down different sizes and models. It really felt like a team effort! A special shoutout goes to Hugo for his expertise. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the technical differences between all the various shoe types. I am definitely particular about my footwear, and he patiently helped me try on a million different sizes and styles before I was able to make a final decision. Price-wise, everything was market price, which is standard for Hoka. It was great to get that high level of service without any unexpected markups. I was very satisfied with my trip here and highly recommend this store location to anyone looking for a great fit and a welcoming environment. Thanks again to the whole team!

I ordered…read morea pair of shoes online on May 15th and selected the in store pick up option in the Chicago store. I was informed that I would receive a follow up email when my shoes arrived for pick up- I never received this email. I proceeded to go into the store to check if my shoes were ready and this is when I had a troubling customer service experience. On May 29th, I came into the store and was immediately feeling targeted and uncomfortable. After the initial greeting by the male sales associate, there was minimal conversation with myself and the sales associate that was assisting me as I was being watched and she constantly looked me up and down during the transaction. She also looked uncomfortable as if this was her first time servicing a person of color. As a black woman, I felt racially profiled and judged for being in the store and it still baffles me because the whole transaction took about 5-7 minutes. In addition, I later found out that I had a free co-creation which I was never informed about by the sales associate. This was supposed to be a simple process of checking out and informing me of promotions but it was uncomfortable overall. As a first time customer of Golden Goose, I was extremely disappointed in my experience with the entire purchasing process as this should not have been my experience.

The next day, she called me to say it arrived, and I went to pick it up. She wrapped it in red ribbon, and then I went to the men's which is on the second floor and had neglected my first visit. I picked out a black boot, and have been wearing it anytime it snows.

Even though my GPS was telling me where to go, I didn't see it until I was right in front of it. Service was fantastic. The moment we walked in we were greeted even though the place was super busy (it's a madhouse on weekends, apparently) and the woman came by to help us within a couple minutes. This store has been in business since 1961, passed through the family, and it's clear why they've been around so long what with their great service and merchandise. It was the first time that both our kiddos had ever had shoes. She measured them both, and explained what we should look for in shoes; the brand I bought, Stride Rite, she said is usually pretty true to size but if we went with one of their other brands they'd have to go up a bit. Both babes walked (or rather, strolled and were carried) away with a pair of shoes and we'll be back in August to re-size. They have a couple of toy stations to keep bored kids busy, which is a great touch. Since my baby is still just at the creeping stage and standing assisted, she doesn't wear shoes so that she can get used to the feel of her feet and the ground beneath them. But when we go for a walk or something they'll be good for her to have on her feet while she's being strolled. So although the shoes are not cheap by any means--I spent more on her shoes than I often spend on mine--I was ok with it since she's only going to have one or so at a time. And they're good brands, high-quality shoes, which is important for growing feet.

When we rung up the shoes the owner still had the original record keeping mechanism that his parents used when they owned the stores. They have a variety of shoes brands including Stride Rites and some some other brands that are highly recommended by pediatricians. They now have loyal customers for life or at least until our kids no longer fit in kids shoes.
