I cannot believe that I have not reviewed this place before. As often as I have been here, no review. What's gotten into me? This is probably one of the nicer Michaels craft stores in the area. This is not a convenient location for my wife and I, since we live on the east side of Orlando. But our favorite Mexican restaurant is in the same plaza. You guessed it, whenever we go to El Potro it is mandatory that we stop at Michael's. "Just to see what they have." We usually walk out with a few bags of things. My wife is an avid crafter, and she loves going to the clearance rack. This store is always very clean, the employees are always very helpful and very friendly. Like I said earlier one of the nicest stores in the area, and since this the shopping plaza has been updated, only get better. If you're at craft and common can you live in Winter Park, this is the store for you. read more

Michaels is my go to craft store. This location is the closest to us so I go there quite frequently for supplies. They almost always have what I'm looking for and it's easy to find. Smaller than some of its sister stores it is more limited. The staff is hard to find anywhere other than the register or frame section. This seems to be an ongoing theme for their stores in general. There is always plenty of parking and it's less busy than other stores in Orlando. Overall: B I know what I'm looking for so the lack of staff doesn't bother me so much. read more

This is easily my favorite Michaels in town, and it's not just because it's the closest one to my house. It's a relatively newer location since it's in the eagle watch area near the airport. Everything is well kept and clean. Shelves are usually fully stocked. it is usually pretty easy to find staff, which is been a problem with other Michaels stores in the past. My wife and I both do arts and crafts, though different kinds. We both know that we can go to this location and there's a 99% chance that they're going to have the supplies we need. Again, the same thing can't be said for some other Michael's locations. Is it the store itself wasn't great, there are a lot of other great things nearby. Lots of restaurants, movie theater, and plenty of other retail stores. It's a great store in a great location. There's always parking nearby. If it's not out of your way, I would recommend going to this Michaels over many of the other ones. read more

Pretty wide selection as you would expect at Michael from crafts, baking, floral, framing, home decor, scrapbooking, paint, wedding and season and celebration items. You could get overwhelmed. This location is hidden in the back and to the side of a strip mall across the street from Winter Park Village. It's not the cleanest, most organized or friendliest of customer service reps but it gets the job done. Maybe I am just spoiled after I fell in love with Hobby Lobby. Don't leave home without printing out their online coupons or dling their app. Their prices and sales are good but so are the coupons. Check out their $1 bins too, always good stuff. read more

I would've expected this location to be heater and more spaced out given the area it was in, but it reminded me of the location I typically go to. I was told that the Winter Park Michaels had a huge collection of Cricut materials. I couldn't find that display. They had the same amount as any other store I have been too. There weren't any employees wandering around asking people if they needed any help. All were working on registers or back in framing. My complaint is the women's bathrooms. They were down right gross. Both stalls were dirty, sticky floors and the toilets themselves were dirty. We went in shortly after opening and would've expected to see clean restrooms. Cashiers were nice. Explained the coupon policy. read more

I love Michael's on general principle because I am a very crafty person. I am very happy to have found one pretty close to my new home. My eldest and I needed supplies to make jewelry, we are on that kick and she was visiting so of course hours of crafting and chatting are in order! I suggested we pick up a few things here on a Saturday and off we went. The store was nice, kind of empty which was great. She pointed out that in Miami I would NEVER had suggested going to Michaels (by Mall of the Americas) on a Saturday. She is right, it is a hell hole every day, but impossible on the weekends. Here? No problem. We found what we needed, check out was easy peasy and the gal at the register was super helpful and sweet. So the family and I went here a little while ago. Walked in and thought, Wow, nice and organized. Was enjoying ourselves and then had to use the restroom... that's when the stars went down... Horrible. It smelled and was so dirty. It is as if it had not been cleaned since they opened. I have been to better outdoor gas station bathrooms! My husband tried to take our sons to the Men's Restroom, and I saw him walk in and walk right back out. He said it was the worst he has ever seen and completely unusable. The staff was great, but the bathrooms just really made this a place we will not shop. read more

2018 Review 1/100 If you've been to one Michael's store you've been to pretty much all of them. There aren't a lot of surprises here. I will say, though, that this particular location has cleaned up a lot over the past year. Prior to this, I probably would have given it 2 stars because of how run down it was. It's much nicer now. They have a great selection of items for a variety of crafts and hobbies. A crafters paradise. I could spend my entire paycheck here. Make sure you come prepared with a coupon. They always have a coupon or two active. If you find yourself at Michael's frequently it's worth downloading their app so you always have easy access to their coupons even during a spur-of-the-moment pop in. read more

I like this little arts and crafts store. They have a limited selection compared to 2 other big name crafts stores, but they always have random good finds on clearance. I LOVE me some clearance, as I am a impulse buyer and have that "just get it, it's cheap" mentality. LOL The associates are friendly. I grabbed a bunch of things that were 80% off and one of them didn't ring up. So, the cashier asked the manager on their walkie-talkies and he came up to the front to tell her to adjust it. I get their emails and texts on deals and coupons. This is a good and bad thing for me. I'll save money, but want to buy more things I may not need. read more

As a Rollins student and avid crafter, I frequently shop in this store. It is my second favorite Michael's store location in the Orlando area. My first is on 436 in Altamonte Springs. This store differs from other Michaels I visit in that the customer service is inconsistent (negative), and I have experienced relatively few signing errors (positive). In two of the three signing errors, the store took corrective action to prevent further confusion on pricing and sold me the item at the price on the sign. Once, the store manager did neither and was VERY rude which provides an example of my next comment. The staff's attitudes vary from very friendly and helpful to very rude and unhelpful but overall, seems to be improving recently. Overall, Michaels are no longer staffed to aid customers in finding products, which is definitely true here. Save yourself the time searching for someone; go to the check out and have someone paged. Of note, the lack of staffing comment also applies to Michaels competition. Michaels, in general, has great promotions and coupons. Avoid paying full price unless the item is a book (which rarely go on sale and on which coupons do not apply) or you need it urgently. Michaels website posts the store's current coupons, no app or actual coupon required. Michaels usually has a 30%-50% off regular price coupon, on their website. If not, Michaels accepts competitor coupons so check out Joanne's and Hobby Lobby's website too. Hobby Lobby usually has a 40% off coupon posted. The Michaels website may also have additional coupons with discounts off select items such as their private label are collections crafts products. If coupons exclude your desired item (such as Cricut or Wilton), wait a week or two and chances are better than not the store will run a promotion for it. read more

As someone who frequent Michael's at least once a week I was happy to come to this Michael's and find things I wanted for my next craft. The store is a little funky with the layout. There are floral parts kind of all over which threw me off a bit but that's okay. I went in for some cricuit stuff.. ofcourse! And I found what I wanted. I wanted to buy some shades that I saw on the Michael's website (and at the stores in NY) but they didnt bage any here :( The line went really quickly and the sales people were super helpful. This place is paradise for a person like me that loves to do crafts! There is so much you can do with everything they sell here. You can go overboard on shopping if you are not careful here. Make sure you take advantage of sales and coupons that are always available. I have wanted to come for some of the classes they offere but haven't had the chance yet. I have seen drawing, painting, cookie decorating, and kid classes available. They only thing I wish they sold were fabrics, I always have to make a trip else where if I am in need of fabric. read more

I love the store and all their awesome sales, but forget about needing help! The staff will literally try to pass you to another employee or just refuse to help you. When they do actually try and help they it's obvious that they couldn't care less about what you need, it shows through their lack of product and failure to assertively follow through on finding the product in question. read more

i've gone to this Michael's at least a few times each month this year. The check outline is the worst! Actually it might happen to all Michael's, but having one person at the register is unexcusable for the amount of people waiting. It practically wraps around to the floral area. Its so dreadfully slow especially during lunchtime which seems to be the time where a lot of people go. Also, a lot of the items I look for are out of stock, and when asked about it, I've had employees say its probably discontinued or try ordering online. I just feel the customer service was not very helpful. AND! I continue to go because its the closest to me, but it doesn't mean I can't complain about them! read more

Nice Micheal's, good stock of seasonal and regular merchandise. Store is laid out a bit differently, but it's easy to navigate. There is always tons of parking. The 2011 Halloween season, this location seemed to have more seasonal merchandise stocked close to the holiday than other area locations. Nice for those of us who weren't around much to shop in September. read more

This store is enormous! Was on a hunt for oil paint and decided to stop in. They were running a 40% off sale on easels so that paid off in the end. While I wouldn't rate them as high in the canvas department, they still had a great selection. Like any city, I suppose some stores have some good items, and others are found elsewhere. I don't typically get into any other craft other than painting or drawing, but if you are an open book as far as crafts go, its definitely worth your time to take a spin through here and see what jumps out at you. read more

When I am in need of craft or framing supplies, I usually stay away from Michael's stores. Every now and then, though, the convenient location of this particular one lures me like Winnie the Pooh to a beehive with the promise of honey. And then I regret it afterwards. The store itself, aside from smelling funky, having dirty floors, and a poor checkout line layout, has a typically decent supply. However, what sends them over the cliff are the people that work there. Or lack thereof. Just the a couple of days ago, we circled the entire store seeking an employee because we were unable to find stencil paper on our own. After almost completing yet another round, we finally found an unsuspecting victim. He had no idea what we were looking for and directed us in the direction of the aisle next to the one with pre-made stencils. After it was evident that they were not there, he simply said, "I have no idea" and stood there silently complete with a blank expression. I had to prompt him with, "could you ask someone perhaps?" Clearly, I had lost my patience with this store by then. My tone must have appropriately scared this young'un and he went running to his colleagues, two of whom miraculously appeared to his aid. Where were they before, I wonder? We didn't end up finding what we were looking for and had to purchase a back-up to our original because we simply could not afford the travel time to another store after having to spend the majority of it searching for their employees. I should note that this was not my only negative experience with this particular Michael's. Previous visits suffered from the same main symptom: lack of knowledgeable employees; lack of employees in general. read more

I love Michaels! They are a great go to craft everything store. The only negative is they can be a little pricey, and they do not carry fabric. Not too many craft options in the area, so this is not a bad stop. They do, however, have really good sales and often, especially after holidays. read more

I dig this Micheals. Is it the cleanest, most well put together store I've ever been to? No, but I always manage to find what I need here, and let's be honest....I could easily kill an hour (or more) just browsing. This location is right across the street from my office, so I find myself here during my lunch break quite often doing just that - browsing. Aside from all the crafty stuff, you can find some good household décor. I especially look forward to Halloween and Christmas time so I can see what decorations they have. Probably my favorite thing about Michaels in general are the coupons. I have the app on my phone, which allows instant access to the current weeks coupons. Usually they always have a 40% off one item coupon. Typically there are also framing deals every week, but I've personally never used their framing service. On your way to the cash registers, make sure to check out the dollar section...lots of little goodies for cheap. read more

Michael's Arts & Crafts is awesome. I am a straight, married man, and mostly do manly things, but I can honestly say Michael's is cool. I think mostly women come here to do things like scrapbook or make things for the home, but they have everything that you can think of, and something for everyone, no matter your artistic skills. I have been here several times since moving back home to Orlando, to do everything from getting posters framed, to building my own gift baskets. The wife could spend four hours in here and not even realize it. This particular location is great, right across the street from the Winter Park Village, in the same strip as Office Depot & K-Mart. The store is clean and well organized. The people that work there are very knowledgeable, and can always help you find what you are looking for. Most of the stuff is affordable, but some of the custom frames are expensive, especially if you get matting, but that is normal anywhere you go, so can't complain too much. The turn around time on the custom framing is fast and they do a great job. All in all, Michael's is as good as it gets. read more

Once a quarter i try to have a new floral arrangement to take to my baby daughter's grave. Everytime I call this Michaels to speak with a floral designer I'm always told they don't have one and there's a couple managers 'filling in'. I asked to speak with one of the managers who was filling in and she was quite rude and when I asked if it was possible to have a floral arrangement made today she flat old told me 'no' and that she would need 'about a week' to make one. A week?! A week to make a floral arrangement sounds a little long to me. They have an entire desk devoted to floral design! They are always rude at the Winter Park michaels. I always have better luck at the Altamonte store. Much nicer and friendlier and willing to help. read more
