Michael and his colleague trimmed half a dozen trees for us this weekend; The job included a number of very tall palm trees. Michael did a superb job and our trees look AMAZING. The most impressive element of this service was the attention to detail. The trimming work was meticulous, but so too was the cleanup. The surrounding areas (tree lights, kid's zip line, lawn, walkway, etc.) were in better order after Michael did his job. This stands in contrast to most home service provides who just want to get in, do the basics and rush out. Michael is a true professional and could probably run any sort of business that piqued his interest. Personally, I'm glad he has chosen tree services. I contacted Michael about tree removal and he asked what the major cross streets to my house were. When I told him he told me he doesn't work in that area and I needed to contact someone else. I guess business is so good you can pick and choose where you want to work, I don't think it's anyway to run a business but who am I to say. I picked Michael's Tree Service solely because I liked the before & after photos on his website. I knowingly paid a little more than two other quotes I got because after seeing the pictures I had a hunch it'd be worth it and it was. I thought it was going to be impossible to make either of the two trees we had trimmed look balanced but he managed to do it. Michael is an artist and he cares about his work. As a bonus he and his son will leave your place looking cleaner than when they came. I would point out that none of the people leaving negative reviews actually had any work done. read more

Michael is an arborist and a true artist. We called him to prune our Chinese Elm tree that had not been serviced in many years. Michael spent an entire day trimming, pruning and sculpting the tree. When finished it was a thing of beauty. Not only that but his services were very reasonable considering the amount of work he did to properly shape and give the tree symmetry. All pruning is centered on making sure there is the highest priority given to the health of the tree. I highly recommend him. read more

Michael and Zach did my back and front yard queen palms almost 20 in all. The trees weren't in the best of shape but they cleaned them up very well. These guys are reliable and professional, and just overall good dudes. These guys will leave your trees looking beautifully manicured and leave your yard in immaculate shape. Over a year ago (or so) we called in Michael and his crew to take out a tree for us. They said to call them back when we got ready to have our Mahan Pecan Tree properly pruned. It has suffered over the years from broken limbs, wind damage, etc. They did an excellent job. Michael amazed me in that he is slightly older than my husband but was able to hours at a time assessing and trimming our tree. They then cleaned up all the associated debris. Great work guys. Cut a total of ten trees and did a wonderful job. Our trees were too tall and needed height taken off as well as a trim. Our trees were horribly overgrown since we have just purchased our home which was a foreclosure. they not only did our trees but quoted our neighbor and pulled out there tree the same day. I called Michael's Tree Service based on the reviews on Yelp, but have to say that I was not impressed. I called on Friday to request an estimate and Michael said he could be to my house at 11 am on Saturday. At 11:30 am, Michael had still not arrived so I called him to find out if we were still on. He did apologize and admitted that he was "procrastinating". Not a good first impression for a new customer. I received no phone call that he would be late. I had to call him. I had other things to do on a Saturday so he said he would be here between 4 and 5 pm. Michael arrived at 5 pm on the dot. I proceeded to show him what I needed done. I have 4 large trees that need trimming and a large dead tree that needs to be removed. That's what I assume a "tree trimmer" does. We also have 2 large Eucalyptus trees that need trimming, but due to financial constraints decided to wait to have those done. Michael's first question was "Who's going to trim the Eucalyptus trees?". We told him that we were waiting to do those and his whole attitude changed. He said that the "Eucalyptus trees could be beautiful with proper trimming" and that the "smaller" trees (they are actually quite large) were something a gardener could trim. He mentioned a total of $3,000 to trim just one Eucalyptus tree and basically told me that the job wasn't worth his time. I hadn't even finished showing him what needed to be done. I got the impression that he wasn't interested in trimming anything that wasn't a high dollar job. As a reference, I had gotten a quote from another tree service earlier in the day, and they quoted $600 for the tree that Michael said would be a $3,000 job. I will never call Michael again, and would recommend checking his numbers with other tree services in the area, as he seems to be on the shady side of dishonest with his numbers. read more

Two weeks ago I called Michael's Tree Service and asked them to come out and prune two trees. Yesterday they left me a message asking me to return their call. This morning I called and was told they would be here in 1 hour, 4 hours later they arrived. After looking at the trees they said that I should not prune these trees at this time, it was too late in the year, after telling me less than a year ago to prune these trees just before summer. During their time here all this person did was put me down and talk to me like I was stupid, I had to ask him to leave. read more

Mike and zach are true artists. 21 queen Ann's and each one is addressed based upon its own needs. Striped the trucks as needed to create a consistent look. The tooth look of the upper stalks makes my neighbors trees in 7 oaks look like the homeowners did them. Mike is on time and keeps communicating through the process. They did 2 other trees for me and I said to make them like to Totem poles. He said "no it will hurt the trees". I remembered that they are also arborist. I said do it anyways and he said "ok but I am not going to hurt the trees". I said I trust you and they turned out perfect. The best tree service company in town! During the recent windy mini storm the half of the main branch of our birch tree broke off from the ground and fell onto my neighbor's yard. Fortunately, it missed any structure. It did damaged a portion of my old wooden fence. Michael Tree service hauled off the branches, cleaned up the debris both from my neighbor's and in our yard, trimmed our birch tree and gave me instructions on what to do to keep it from getting shock, at a reasonable price - they were considerably less than the other estimate from another company. Not only did they do excellent tree services but they also went on their own, without additional cost to buy new wooden fence pickets to replace the rotted portions of our fence and re-installed about 6' by 8' section. How awesome is that? This was really so appreciated especially for the fact that they were unaware of my husband just having knee surgery 2 days ago! read more
