The store is well stocked and clean and orderly. Stores staff was very helpful when trying to locate a specific item for a project.

A whole lot of stuff The first Michael's Arts & Crafts open in Texas around 1976. Since then it has spread throughout the country and into Canada and now operates over 1,000 stores. This Michael's is similar to the rest with zillions of different items for every conceivable arts or craft project. Most of the stores are also very seasonal and during the holidays offer special items and weird things for just about anything you can think of. I like this particular store because it is large, clean and has very friendly and useful staff. There is just so much stuff that it can be difficult to find certain obscure items, but the employees that were asked always knew exactly where to find what we were looking for. A wonderful store for crafty and creative people. If you can't find what you need for a project in this store then it probably doesn't exist.

The discounted frame is for an art project.

But the real action was going on downstairs anyway. Once we went down stairs we were greeted and shown around the running displays. Very impressed with the obvious skill and dedication of the model builders. I'm more into the "toy train" look rather than realism, but even so it was VERY impressive. We were told if we become members we can take operator lessons and then are allowed to bring your own trains in and run them on the clubs model lines. That sounds like a lot of fun! One important thing: GFMRC has several different scale models to run your trains on, though the focus is definitely on HO. I saw only one elaborate set-up for O scale "three railers" which is my preferred size.

Next day I went to wind it up and not only was it very tangled, but it had a lot of breaks in the skein. Ends are frayed and it looks like it could be moth damage. In all, I ended up with ten pieces of yarn. In addition, there are several weak spots in the yarn. I've reached out to the company a couple of times (including pics of the yarn) and I'm asking for a refund. So far, no response at all. Very sad as this wasn't inexpensive yarn and I was planning on making a Christmas gift for my grandson with it. Will edit review if I get a response, but looking at other reviews, I'm not holding out much hope.

I called 2 days before the class. They never sent it out. When I asked about the comments on the order form, they said they don't always get them. They implied that it was my fault because I waited until the last minute to call! Talked over me and accused me of yelling at them. I wrote an email to Tess complaining and received terse BS response. I will never do business with them. Their yarns are lovely, but the market is no longer small and their are lots of equally and more beautiful alternatives that can be purchased without being treated in such a nasty manner. I won't say it was the worst customer service, because there is a complete absence of customer service. It's customer abuse.
