I like Michael's and I think that they have great sales. I like the new self checkout stations and their reward system. On this visit, I came upon several displays of Christmas clearance, but the problem was nothing was labeled with a tag, not even the original price. When I approached a staff member in the fabric area to see if I could price check the items, she went into telling me that they don't have price check stations anymore for customers, and that people usually go to the front. On this particular day, there is a significant line at the front so I just opted to put the stuff back on the rack and go. They probably could've made a sale if I would've known the prices because I'm a sucker for a good clearance Christmas item so maybe they should do a little better next time with their customer service. They might make some more sales. read more

I like Michael's but yarn is my thing lately. They just don't have much to choose from as some other stores. This store is very neat and organized. The staff seem very friendly and ready to help. They have new self-checkout which is nice but more times than not, I've still needed assistance. I do like the sales and being part of the rewards program. read more

I was introduced to Michaels by The Granddaughter, and it was a fortuitous introduction. Well, The Granddaughter loves to come here for her art supplies. She loves to draw, paint ... yeah, she's talented. But when she comes into Michaels, literally ANYthing could catch her eye. Yeah, they're good at what they do. So, recently, when I decided to frame a print that The GD had purchased as a Valentine's Day present, I knew where to go. And I was right. They had frames in exactly the right size, 11 x 16, and a young man in the custom framing area gave me advice as to which frame would best suit a teenager. If you haven't yet visited, you should go. Yesterday, I was able to pick up some supplies I ordered online last week. Within minutes everything was ready for pick up and ready...before I was even ready to leave. Michaels is one of my favorite stores! I love the clearance and special items in the center isles as well as the Fourth of July items at the front of the store. When I was ready the sales associate was very friendly and asked if I'd like to confirm all the packages and look at them. She was very sweet and pulled each item (6 boxes total) or without any negative comments or faces. One of the items was in a box inside the main box and was nice enough to pull it out of the box as well. She then told me how awesome of a deal I received and even she was shocked at the amount for everything! My favorite part of this store is the sales, prices, and military discounts. read more

Worst customer service ever. None of the employees know where anything is. None of them know how to answer any questions. The store manager or whoever was running the show tonight has a horrible attitude problem. I have shopped here for 6 years and never again. The service has gotten worse every time I come here. I will shop at Hobby Lobby across the street from now on. Their customer service is much better, the store is bigger, they have more to offer and they actually know how to answer questions. I own a business that calls for me to pick up supplies from Michael's . As far as Alamo Ranch Michael's I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN! I was profiled and followed throughout the store. I got a call from the asking me my side of they story and the " Manager" excused the action by another manager telling me "we have had many people with Backpackets come in a steal stuff." So because i walked in with a backpack meant I was going to steal stuff? ?? The manger that called also failed to give me a heads up that the manger that followed me was also on the call and that manger proceeded to "Tell me her side of the story which at this point I was done. She was VERY ARGUMENTATIVE WITH ME. Alamo Ranch Michael's is disgustingly dirty, unorganized, they don't care at all for their jobs or their customers. I was profiled in a big way by some of the staff. All they had to do was walk up to me and say Hi welcome to Michael's are you finding everything ok? That alone could have helped them figure out if I was planning on stealing stuff. I spend Thousands of dollars a year at Michael's. I DON'T NEED TO STEAL NOR WOULD I EVER!! I recently order 2 custom framed mats ordered at this Michaels. To begin, the guy who took my order was very poorly trained and couldnt answer the most basic of questions. However, we struggled through it and a little over a week later I got a call that I could pick these up. To my great displeasure - they were not what i ordered rather he entered a mat board that HE had initially recommended because it would be less costly. Once he actually looked it up, it was the SAME price and so I naturally chose my initial choice... he ordered his own choice of glossy instead of MY PREFERENCE (velvet) and now I am told it may take an additional 2 weeks before I have to make ANOTHER trek across town. To add insult to injury, the manager said they will not deliver and offered no concession for my extra wait time, having to go there in total 3 times to get a service done which is by no means affordably reasonable, with not so much as an apology. I expect cruddy service from Hobby Lobby.... It is why I no longer patron that place, but Ive always felt Michael's was more friendly and had more personable staff. The worst part of this experience was when another employee told me they would throw the mistakes in the garbage. Seriously ? If I paid 300.00 for two 11x14 mats, and they can just toss them in the trash - then they are very overpriced and the "value" of custom work is B.S. read more

I like Michael's for projects for jewelry and scrapbooking. The prices I don't dig so much though. You really have to catch Michael's on a good day for deals that are worth buying. If I can't find what I need at Hobby Lobby, then I'm usually coming here for what I need. read more

Used to like shopping here. Tried Curb side pick up first (and last time). Followed their directions, called the store numerous times while sitting outside and after ringing for several minutes the call is disconnected. Finally leaving my elderly mother in the car, walked in to pick up the order only to be told that I would have to wait as they are backed up. (I had received the text that the order was ready and to come and get it). Finally received my order and asked for a back to get the numerous items out to the car to have the clerk slam a door feeling that it was not her job to find me a bag. So I made the trips to the car with my items and feel Alamo Ranch is not worth my business. Poor customer service and poorly organized. Hobby Lobby goes out of their way to assist. read more

This place is so unorganized. I've visited this location because it's close and I love Michaels. This place is always unorganized, even at opening. I've had interactions with several employees and they have had a sluggish demeanor as if you're bothering them. Today, I ordered the curbside and one person told me to give her 2 minutes, after about 10 min I called bacK and they were rude. I'm guessing because they Close in a few min. To the woman I met for 30 seconds at Michael's, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness and generosity is something that is all but lost in this world. My three year old, running around Michael's collecting the dinosaur toys he had to add to his collection at home. Getting to the check out line and noticed he had more toys then he could even hold. I put some away hopefully secretly but of course that's didn't work. You, the woman that delt with my son's screaming for the next 5 minutes because I didn't want to pay for so many... If I could give Michael's Alamo Ranch less than one star...I WOULD. Today I went to pick up my online order via curbside service. I called the store when I arrived. The phone rang and then disconnected. Since store hours are 10am-6pm, I walked to the door. A man by the name of Michael yelled at me that the store was closed. It was before 6PM. I told him I just want my online order. He yelled get back in your car ad call the store. I explained I did and no one acknowledged my call and the call disconnected. He repeated himself a few time when another man interfered. Sam advised that me of the same to get back in my car and call the store. Mind you I am almost in the store with the pickup orders less than 5 feet from me. Instead of asking for my order number Sam told me to get back in my car. I got back in my car and called the store. Ine of the 2 men answered...I asked that my purchase be refunded. He continued to be snarky and advusedbhe could refund the purchase immediately or call Michael's 1800 number for a refund. I told him to refund my purchase...and I told him I would never shop at the Alamo Ranch location again. He replied that's fine. read more

Well the story I got was that the framing staff was new. All I needed was a mat cut and placed around the print in the frame. They ruined the print, cut the mat lopsided and put it together upside down. Really? It's was a pretty basic request. read more

As far as a chain craft store goes, I was very pleased with this Michael's location. I am basing my review on their yarn selection alone, which was well-stocked and organized. Very disappointing when you go into a store and their supply is limited or depleted. Was not the case at this location. One thing I'll say though. While they do typically have coupons, it would be awesome if Michael's was like Joanne's and accepted multiple coupons and competitor coupons. Just saying... read more

This place is terrible. I would NEVER recommend this place to my friends or anyone I know. No responsible to what they sell at all. Terrible customer service. I bought some knitting yarn but as I used I noticed they were damaged that I couldn't see from outside so tried to return but they wouldn't take the one I was using already. They are not responsible of their products at all, they don't care if their product is damaged or so as long as they can make money from it. They are like saying that was your fault to buy something damaged. After you paid, we don't care. They have to be more responsible of the quality of what they sell. I've been buying lots of knitting materials from this place but never again. read more
