I'm a professional photographer and artist which means if I'm not online ordering brushes, paint, etc. I'll be going to Michael's. I've never written a review for Michael's because I've never thought about it... Just go in get precisely what I need or close to it and leave! Every now and then I've had issues with different items and they've always been dealt with very professionally! Last night, was a whole new level of customer service and it was all because of the night manager, and her name is Lauren!!!! I had a number of issues and she assisted with each and every one of them; patiently, kindly, and with the utmost of care and professionalism! Stopped into my local Michaels (Rehoboth Beach Delaware ) to inquire on inventory of their carvable pumpkins and if they are in or expected to come in soon. Thank you to the young women unboxing and shelving fall/Halloween... I appreciate your helpful response to seek out the the store manager as he would know of current inventory and upcoming As you suggested, when I saw the manager, I asked him same question about inventory. Explaining that I was recently over in the Eastern Maryland store, and the manager there, lovely woman, said that pumpkin should be coming into the stores next week which, I thought maybe that meant this week. The manager of the store needs to work on his common courtesy and response to any basic question of inventory instead, I got a flipping, sarcastic response. Extremely rude. Completely unnecessary response to a simple question. Quite honestly, I feel sorry for the employees that have to work under his direction. If this is a common occurrence, his response and interaction with customers, perhaps they should stick him in the back room counting boxes. Clearly he's not meant to interact with customers. read more

While visiting Rehoboth Beach with my little family for an overnight during a cold winter weekend, we stopped by Michael's to pick up crafts to do with our four-year-old in our nearby tiny house Airbnb. Like most Michael's, this location is outdated, BUT massive. They have all kinds of crafts and browsing the aisles kept our daughter engaged for over an hour. We picked up a stuffed animal kit where you put on the fur yourself. As we were leaving, they gave us three free bags of a craft to do as a family. Near the entrance, they had a free art station for kids. Fun! read more

I will never recommend anyone get framing here anymore. Did it look good? Mostly: the frame is nice, the matting sufficient. It looks good, BUT the prices are beyond ridiculous. They did not even bother to flatten the creases in the print. (It was not a collectible print.) Yes, my husbands picked it all out and approved it. If I had been there, I would not have allowed the project to go forward. Truly - spectacularly - overpriced. And the prices have gone up equally spectacularly over the last 5+ years, from what I remember. I am told that 'all framing cost this much'. If that is true, it is an industry ripe for a new, rationally priced competitor to take the market. I will look into learning matting and framing myself. I know they are not paying their staff handsomely with those prices. Which means it's simply a greedy company making a cash grab. Never again. read more

I arrived at 9am to buy Christmas lights. Was greeted by a nice employee who opened the door. Proceeded to the main aisle ,where it said online the lights would be located, and they weren't there. I looked a little more and asked the male employee with the, dark hair and beard who had a bald spot where they were located. He said the next aisle. I pleasantly thanked him and said they are always in the next aisle after you ask. He said very rudely...You couldn't have looked much because the store just opened. Sorry, I interrupted your complaining with your coworkers. The cashier was nice. 2 stars for the employees who did their job. read more

This store was a hot mess! Empty shelves with boxes around where I'm assuming they were going to stock? The line was long and you couldn't maneuver your cart around the crap by the register. Blech. read more

Came in and in desperate need of a specific last minute gift. After already going to several stores with no luck.. I got lucky here! Not only did they have what I need, but the nice young man at the door went above and beyond to find my item and walk me through step by step of what I would need to go with it. Then he took it upon himself to open a register and ring me out. My son was so happy with his gift and I was even more happy. The prices were decent and the service was on point. Went in to get something framed. They said their computer system was down. Asked me to come back. I've tried to call several times to see if it's back up. Someone just picks up and hangs up. There's no way to reach anyone. Why make it so hard for people to spend money there? read more

I am an avid Michaels shopper but time and time again this location has disappointed. The customer service is okay but the stock isn't as good as other locations. Also, surprisingly they don't have a section of "beach" items even during the summer, which is a staple at many other locations. I do find this store harder to navigate than other locations, but I appreciate that there is an actual craft store in Rehoboth and that it's a decent size. read more

I stopped here because they were advertising good deals in the store so of course who doesn't want a good deal. The clerk that checked me out smelled very unpleasant and was absolutely rude. The store had their deals "posted" but not clearly so when I checked out everything was way more than it should have been. If you are going to advertise something MAKE SURE THEY ARE POSTED CLEARLY. And when I went inside the same clerk made a scene in front of everyone. She should NOT be working around customers. Will never return to this store. The store manager and the corporation need some serious help. DO NOT shop at this location. read more

I've dealt with this location before and had a great experience with the framers. However, I went in to have a piece of art work framed recently and had the displeasure of dealing with Hosanna. I went in with a specific frame in mind only to be shot down by her repeatedly. I felt as if I couldn't have my print framed unless I did it her way. I've had prints framed in the past the way I asked her to frame mine only to be told that it wasn't possible. Not only did she not try to accommodate my request, but she only offered me the most expensive options. Don't be fooled by their discount gimmicks, they will try to add on multiple ridiculously priced matts, and "museum quality glass" to make up for the discount. Do yourself a favor and don't make the same mistake I did. Find someone else with more knowledge of art framing and professionalism. read more

The only store in the area that carries certain oil paint supplies. Great selection is worth dealing with sometimes rather cranky cashiers.

I went into the Rehobeth store 2 weeks ago looking for double sided tape -- needless to say I bought the last one. I have been there several times over the past two weeks and nothing has been replaced. I find that they do not keep up with their stock. I'm not sure if that's corporate' fault or the managers. read more
