The main street leading up to the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is filled with stores and restaurants. So many that it can feel overwhelming. So many that you may miss a gem amongst them. Sometimes, you also just need to pop in to get away from the crowd outside. I was walking for a while and came upon the storefront. The windows drew me in, plus I was in need of a good, new book to read. I came in and had no idea how large this place really was from the outside. I wandered around inside until I found the sections I wanted to be in. I browsed for a bit, jumping from section to section. I had one book in mind and was out to find it. Unfortunately, the book was not yet released. I had to ask where it was. That's when the staff were super nice and told me the date. I thanked them for the information, and was about to leave. That is until I saw an amazing tote behind the counter that had a print from the my favorite book when I was little. 'The Monster at the End of the Book' I thought the tote was just one sided, having Grover saying 'You turned the page.' Only to come and discover that when you turned it to the other side it has him saying 'You turned ANOTHER page.' Quickly became my new favorite tote to take with me. read more

Also a fun selection of book related items and fun Knick knacks. My friends an I had fun and probably could've spent a few hours in here. there's two sides to this store: bookstore and the decor/home goods side. I always like the bookstore side. The genres are divided out clearly with signs and you can find topics of what you're interested in. They also have a large kids' section with books divided by age and with toys like legos and stuffed animals. They also have a bunch of cute knick knacks and feature local authors. I attached pictures of what I was interested in: Hokusai ukiyo-e prints and some manga of the anime I've watched. This place is a gem. The space is huge and there is a lot to see. Books, books, Legos, toys, books, book stuff. It's a beautiful shop with al the things you could want from a mom and pop book shop. I came in with friends after a very long beach day. After seeing they had some Rehoboth / Delaware themed stuff, I began looking for some touristy stickers for my journal spread. I got a Rehoboth sticker, a LOT of Taylor Swift stickers (inside a 3 shelf Taylor section with so much cute merch!!), and some Chappell Roan stickers. I also saw stickers from Snoopy and general reading (as well as specifically romance) and a few varied fandom stickers. As for books; they were listed by genre and the main display included top selling books, a brief description, and if an employee of the store read it and recommended it. They have a large selection of books and book accessories like bookmarks, tote bags, book themed merch like magnets etc. The employees were so so nice! I spoke with one at length about their sticker selection and she complimented my nails and own sticker collection from my journal as I took it out to store my stickers. This is my absolute favorite bookstore in the world. It has so many books that you wouldn't typically see at Barnes and Noble. There are also rows and rows of staff selections, which is amazing, because instead of only seeing the newest selection (though they do have that as well) there are a lot of older books that you may have never stumbled upon before. The only downside is that everything there is pricey. For example, I bought a flavored chapstick for $5. I also bought a Hammond's chocolate bar for $5 as well, proving that I'm a sucker. They also have a coffee bar, juice, snacks, and tons of other things for sale. You can get coasters, things for the bathroom, specialized soaps, shower bombs, and all kinds of other things. I could spend the whole day in here. There's just that much to see. read more

I do not understand that each time I go into BB, one of the youngish blonde clerks has always been dismissive to me and others. This morning (14 July) while waiting to pay she took care of the person in front of me and then just walked away, no excuse me or I will be right back, just walked away. Quite a few times she has done this to me. I keep trying to be a loyal customer, but this behavior is totally unacceptable and will do my best to not patronize this store whenever I see her there. Lots and lots of books & notecards (at fine price points) and then you cross the dividing line and you are in a housewares shop with all the blue-hues of homeware items to remind you of your amazing visit to the Delaware beaches. The service is terrific (just ask anyone what they are doing this summer). Open until 10 PM daily including Sundays. Love it. read more

Oh my goodness! The best bookstore ever!!! Like I need to go back now, sleep in a sleeping bag and wait for them to open tomorrow. Ha! Once side is like a gift store. They have so many items. A little pricy in the side to be honest. But, the selection is amazing! The book side... gosh they have everything! From journals, kids books, activity books, games, magazines, cookbooks, books... so much!!!!! The staff was so helpful on both sides. The staff on the book side were so helpful by taking our books we had and putting them on a counter so we could do more damage to our wallets... lol. But, seriously the best!!! I love this place. Eclectic, funky, and full of so many wonderful books. The place smells like the most wonderful library of old masterpieces and it's full of creative decor and a smattering of antiques you can actually purchase. Plus, they play a mix of a wide variety of music. I was literally singing and humming along with everything from Peter, Paul, and Mary to John Denver to Natalie Cole to some Gregorian chant. I could have spent all day in there but they were closing and I gathered my my book selections. The people who run it are very knowledgeable. Upon first glance, Browseabout Books looks like another tourist gift shop near Rehoboth Beach. But don't be fooled. When you enter, pass the gifts up front and find the large book collection in the back. They have every section possible from travel to young adult to cookbooks. Most impressive is their kids section complete with games, puzzles, toys and all kinds of books, including books that expose your kids to different types of people and backgrounds. Browseabout reminds me of a Barnes and Noble but as a small business. It's more than just a small bookstore. They have a cafe and ton of small items all around. It really is a lovely place. If I lived around the area I would definitely become a member here and frequent this shop. I could see myself shopping here for any of my book needs because they have older options as well as new releases. They even have a used bargain section in the back. Fun shop with lots to look at. They not only have a big book selection but they have toys, nick-nacs, beachy themed house items, and other products to keep you looking around for hours. My daughter and I had a nice time looking around at all of their products. We spent most of the time look at the different stickers that they had available. She got a Taylor Swift Eras and Capybara sticker. The clerk at the front check out was super friendly and knowledgeable about the books they had available. read more

This bookstore has been a Rehoboth staple since I was a little girl! My mom and I would spend hours in there when we would take our girls vacation. My mom is gone now...but this bookstore is still a special place for me. I can spend an afternoon just browsing. My husband will tell you I leave with an armful of books every time.
