The bookstore is charming and incorporates a lot of different genres despite being a small business in comparison to a larger book store chain. Outside the store front was easy to find and entrance labeled. Nice location being on a busy local beach street - I visited here on vacation so definitely can see that this is a great place to stop in for tourists while also could cater to locals. Inside, the store itself felt tidy with things put away and things looking clean. I love it when shelves look dusted and centered, and I hate to see trash thrown around the store (I know it is not store's fault that customer litters - it just makes me hate people in general when I see it). Genres and sections were labeled so it was easy to glance at the signs and try to figure out where things were. Things were marked and priced fairly considering it was a small business. The displays were adorable. I felt like there was a wide mix of different curated interests in each section. I adored the Off-Campus display and the Dolly Parton (RIP) display. I noticed a coffee shop area in front corner area of store - I did not purchase anything from it or pay much attention to it, but it looked like a plausible option if you wanted to get a beverage and browse. Staff was very helpful and gave great customer service. Very pleasant during checkout. At one point an associate saw me looking at items behind the register and offered assistance. Embarrassingly I ended up thinking I lost my water bottle in the store and the store associates kindly took down my phone number and offered to call me if they found it! It was very nice consideration although I will note that I found it in a different store I stopped in, so cannot confirm if they would actually call you if you lost something there. But they gave the energy they would! I ended up buying some plushies and stickers! Overall, I enjoyed my time there! Seems like a great friendly place you can go in to look for a specific book or casually browse. A wide multitude of different things to browse or purchase, products fairly organized and prices seem very fair! read more

This place was awesome. So many good books. Miniature buffalo for $0.75 Great displays and it was so cool to see how poppin' it was. I got two books. The lady checking us out was so excited about the books we were getting. Also got free bookmarks. I'm going to go here again. Great displays. Legos. Games. read more

The main street leading up to the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is filled with stores and restaurants. So many that it can feel overwhelming. So many that you may miss a gem amongst them. Sometimes, you also just need to pop in to get away from the crowd outside. I was walking for a while and came upon the storefront. The windows drew me in, plus I was in need of a good, new book to read. I came in and had no idea how large this place really was from the outside. I wandered around inside until I found the sections I wanted to be in. I browsed for a bit, jumping from section to section. I had one book in mind and was out to find it. Unfortunately, the book was not yet released. I had to ask where it was. That's when the staff were super nice and told me the date. I thanked them for the information, and was about to leave. That is until I saw an amazing tote behind the counter that had a print from the my favorite book when I was little. 'The Monster at the End of the Book' I thought the tote was just one sided, having Grover saying 'You turned the page.' Only to come and discover that when you turned it to the other side it has him saying 'You turned ANOTHER page.' Quickly became my new favorite tote to take with me. read more

there's two sides to this store: bookstore and the decor/home goods side. I always like the bookstore side. The genres are divided out clearly with signs and you can find topics of what you're interested in. They also have a large kids' section with books divided by age and with toys like legos and stuffed animals. They also have a bunch of cute knick knacks and feature local authors. I attached pictures of what I was interested in: Hokusai ukiyo-e prints and some manga of the anime I've watched. It's definitely a spot that everyone in your party will enjoy browsing - they have something for everybody! read more

Absolutely love this store!! So many neat things, and, as a local, I love coming here every week. It can get a little pricey, but for the most part it's reasonable. For the most part, the employees are pretty nice too. Also love the sticker assortment, and the whole Swiftie-themed section!! I hope to see more T.S stickers soon! read more

Just went there this morning to a meet and greet with Jill Biden. Whole it was very crowded, the employees did an outstanding job and kept things very organized. There were alot of people working, checking on the customers in line. They offered water, seats for the elderly people and were great! Three cheers for them!!! read more

This place is a gem. The space is huge and there is a lot to see. Books, books, Legos, toys, books, book stuff. It's a beautiful shop with al the things you could want from a mom and pop book shop. I could have spent hours here. Highly recommend a visit. Also, no tax so the Legos are priced pretty well. read more

I came in with friends after a very long beach day. After seeing they had some Rehoboth / Delaware themed stuff, I began looking for some touristy stickers for my journal spread. I got a Rehoboth sticker, a LOT of Taylor Swift stickers (inside a 3 shelf Taylor section with so much cute merch!!), and some Chappell Roan stickers. I also saw stickers from Snoopy and general reading (as well as specifically romance) and a few varied fandom stickers. As for books; they were listed by genre and the main display included top selling books, a brief description, and if an employee of the store read it and recommended it. They have a large selection of books and book accessories like bookmarks, tote bags, book themed merch like magnets etc. The employees were so so nice! I spoke with one at length about their sticker selection and she complimented my nails and own sticker collection from my journal as I took it out to store my stickers. Definitely this is the place to come for stickers, books, and other fun merchandise!! read more

Firstly- there's so much more than books here, even though that's what I was primarily interested in. There was a really great variety of books, in terms of genre, reading level, etc. I love the horror section and the inclusion of local authors. I was approached by a few different staff members, as they worked the floor. They were all very friendly. I felt like the items I bought were reasonably priced. There was a bargain section. read more

I had a blast in here! Altho' the selection is small & limited, there was so many interesting things to look through, snoop around, and find. You never know what you will find here! Eclectic & weird, but also tons of the common generic things, if that's your thing! It was PACKED FULL OF PEOPLE the entire time I was there, and hard to move about! If, and when, I ever return to Rehobeth, which there's a strong chance of, I AM COMING BACK! read more

This is my absolute favorite bookstore in the world. It has so many books that you wouldn't typically see at Barnes and Noble. There are also rows and rows of staff selections, which is amazing, because instead of only seeing the newest selection (though they do have that as well) there are a lot of older books that you may have never stumbled upon before. The only downside is that everything there is pricey. For example, I bought a flavored chapstick for $5. I also bought a Hammond's chocolate bar for $5 as well, proving that I'm a sucker. They also have a coffee bar, juice, snacks, and tons of other things for sale. You can get coasters, things for the bathroom, specialized soaps, shower bombs, and all kinds of other things. I could spend the whole day in here. There's just that much to see. read more

I love coming here. Not only do they have some great staff selections to look through if you're unsure of what type of book to get, but they also have an excellent store side that includes lots of kid items & adult gifts too. I do not understand that each time I go into BB, one of the youngish blonde clerks has always been dismissive to me and others. This morning (14 July) while waiting to pay she took care of the person in front of me and then just walked away, no excuse me or I will be right back, just walked away. Quite a few times she has done this to me. I keep trying to be a loyal customer, but this behavior is totally unacceptable and will do my best to not patronize this store whenever I see her there. Her behavior was confirmed by a customer standing behind me, thus a witness. Please council employees on what minimum standards of service you expect, that is any is expected? read more

Oh my goodness! The best bookstore ever!!! Like I need to go back now, sleep in a sleeping bag and wait for them to open tomorrow. Ha! Once side is like a gift store. They have so many items. A little pricy in the side to be honest. But, the selection is amazing! The book side... gosh they have everything! From journals, kids books, activity books, games, magazines, cookbooks, books... so much!!!!! The staff was so helpful on both sides. The staff on the book side were so helpful by taking our books we had and putting them on a counter so we could do more damage to our wallets... lol. But, seriously the best!!! I will definitely return some than later! read more

Browseabout Books on Rehoboth Avenue in downtown Rehoboth is fantastic. You could be looking for a specific books or walk in and see what title grabs you and demands you bring it home. Lots and lots of books & notecards (at fine price points) and then you cross the dividing line and you are in a housewares shop with all the blue-hues of homeware items to remind you of your amazing visit to the Delaware beaches. The service is terrific (just ask anyone what they are doing this summer). Open until 10 PM daily including Sundays. Love it. read more

I love this place. Eclectic, funky, and full of so many wonderful books. The place smells like the most wonderful library of old masterpieces and it's full of creative decor and a smattering of antiques you can actually purchase. Plus, they play a mix of a wide variety of music. I was literally singing and humming along with everything from Peter, Paul, and Mary to John Denver to Natalie Cole to some Gregorian chant. I could have spent all day in there but they were closing and I gathered my my book selections. The people who run it are very knowledgeable. Our parting conversation was about The Canterbury Tales and Beowulf. You don't get cool music and delightful banter at the big chain stores. BUY LOCAL! SHOP BROWSEABOUT BOOKS!!! read more

Upon first glance, Browseabout Books looks like another tourist gift shop near Rehoboth Beach. But don't be fooled. When you enter, pass the gifts up front and find the large book collection in the back. They have every section possible from travel to young adult to cookbooks. Most impressive is their kids section complete with games, puzzles, toys and all kinds of books, including books that expose your kids to different types of people and backgrounds. Browseabout reminds me of a Barnes and Noble but as a small business. It's more than just a small bookstore. They have a cafe and ton of small items all around. It really is a lovely place. If I lived around the area I would definitely become a member here and frequent this shop. I could see myself shopping here for any of my book needs because they have older options as well as new releases. They even have a used bargain section in the back. Darling book store with a great selection of literature, educational toys, kids' art supplies, and souvenirs. We spent way too much money-- hundreds of dollars-- because we found something for everyone on our list! lol The staff were very patient with our littlest guests from out-of-town who were very enthusiastic about the store and its selection. Based on how the kids were treated we'd be back again, and I'll bet we'll find more treasures on our next visit. This bookstore has been a Rehoboth staple since I was a little girl! My mom and I would spend hours in there when we would take our girls vacation. My mom is gone now...but this bookstore is still a special place for me. I can spend an afternoon just browsing. My husband will tell you I leave with an armful of books every time. These locally owned bookstores are of a bygone era! We need to deliberately visit and purchase from local bookstores so that they do not disappear. There is a charm in this bookstore that I don't think can be replicated. They have something for everyone and if you can't find it...they will get it for you. I also recommend the staff picks....I often find new authors through their suggestions! Words can not describe the experience you will have when you enter this bookstore!! Don't miss it!! read more
