Love Michaels. Good for fine art needs. I can find oil paints, canvas, sketching supplies to name a few. Large selection of Prismacolor and copic. They also have a good crafting section and yarn. What's funny is that with my tatted up style and jeans-and-sleeveless style, I'm not the crafting type of gal typically... over the years I really didn't spend much time in Michaels other than the occasional art supplies for the kids... that is, until I learned to crochet. Now, as a yarn addict and crochet fanatic I go in a lot! All the employees are extremely pleasant and helpful. Whenever I've had a question about anything they've answered it with a smile on their face. The store is clean and well stocked, and my only complaint would be I wish they had an even bigger selection of yarn ... what they do have is great, but it seems AC Moore has them beat in sheet yarn acreage (but isn't as nice a shopping experience). As yarn has brought me in too often, I've also come to appreciate the other items they sell like holiday decorations, baking supplies (for my daughter who loves to make treats), vast amounts of adult coloring books (that my mom enjoys) and I've even recently considered trying some of their classes, though haven't jumped in yet. They seem to have a great schedule of DIY classes. I recently had a few posters framed at Michael's too and they did a great job. One of them required custom mounting and I was a bit nervous about it, but all were done quickly, at a reasonable price (coupons!), and turned out great. Of course, I go in to feed the yarn monster so often they are starting to know me by name! Really, there's a lot to like about Michael's in general and specifically this location. With several craft stores in the area, it's always my first choice. read more

She was such a delight and was in constant communication with me regarding my painting that had to be framed for a show. Lots of good stuff. I just bought aa artificial wreath for my front door to celebrate spring. Very good selection but pricey. Luckily they always have great sales and this was 50% off. Still cost me $30. They have a decent selection of colored pencils too which I use in my coloring, although AC Moore does better in that department. My daughter buys a lot of wool there using their almost daily coupons. The store is bright and clean too. I am only giving it 2 stars because of the high price tags if you are not a member and don't have the coupons. read more

They dont have a ton of stuff but it's enough to do what you need. It's also a bit pricey for it. I come locally if I'm looking for good quality art supplies so it is good for that. read more

Michael's has always been my #1 favorite craft store. I am a rewards member and have their app downloaded on my phone. However, my experience this past Saturday 11/10/18 at the Patchogue store was extremely disappointing. I went in to buy some picture frames and a memory box. I had 3 coupons in the app, one for an entire purchase, one for any item (regular price or sale), and one for frames. My checkout experience was pretty painful, as every time I tried to apply any of the 3 coupons I was told why I could not for a multitude of reasons, despite the one coupon being for a regular price OR sale item. I understand there are restrictions, but I was made to feel by the cashier that I was bothering her for even asking why it didn't apply. Even when I tried to ask for further explanation, she seemed very reluctant to ask if I wanted to speak to her manager. What further bothered me was that when one of the coupons actually did apply to my purchase, the computer wasn't recognizing it and the cashier essentially shrugged her shoulders and said, "sorry, the computer won't take it." That doesn't suffice for me- what's the point of coupons if the cashiers won't even honor them solely because there's a computer malfunction? I was disappointed. Finally, I wasn't given OR offered a bag upon checkout. The cashier just left my items on the counter, which I proceeded to scoop up in my arms and walk outside. Luckily, when the wind blew one of my un-bagged glass frames onto the pavement, it did not break. I never have any problems with Michael's, as I said it's always my favorite craft store and I look forward to coming every holiday season. However, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth! read more

Great craft store that has a lot of what you'll be looking for. The associates aren't the friendliest, they kind of behave as if you're a hassle. The line setup is extremely poor. You have to line up far from the registers. read more

i love michaels we always go to michaels but today when getting a price match on an item that in their policy said that they have to price match this item i said very politely"but on the website it said that you have to price match it and give 10% off the item" her response was "well i don't have to do anything for you" i found this very rude sense we were kind and polite the visit was disappointing nothing against michaels just a bad visit with rude people read more

Every Michael's I've been to the associates do not want to help the customers instead have attitude or run the other way. This is the first Michael's that I received great customer service ( amd boy I've been to quite a few). The lady that helped me was super attentive and knowledgeable. The store is huge and fully stocked. It is a bit out of my way but this will be the only Michael's I go to from now on. read more
