The only bad problem I had was checking in. It was put in with correct address. But on the yelp map it has it 5 miles away. Being a serious yelper now (Due to Julie). I decided to go to the place it was marking. 5 miles away to nowhere. It's an empty field. I got there and tried to check in. But couldn't still. I had checked in to get sushi and at another kid store right next door to Carter's . That it said I had to wait. So I did. For 15 mins. Before leaving without a check in. So long story now short. Shirts, jewelry, and home decor had all made their way into my shopping cart. Mardel's is a great place for finding great gifts and items for all. I came across items for different popular religions as I was looking around. Diversity is so important and it's nice that individuals from different religions can come here to find items that support their faith and religious needs. It was relaxing just wandering around Mardel's, perusing everything as uplifting Christian music and advertisements played in the background through the intercom. A very kind older women rang us up, I believe she was the customer service manager. She moved slowly, carefully and patiently, ensuring she rang us up just right and that she packaged all our fragile items well. I left Mardel's feeling lighter and peaceful. I don't know how to explain it but it made me make a mental note to ensure I visit a Christian bookstore more regularly. It's good for the soul. I look forward to returning whenever I'm in the area again.

However, we went to the LOFT in Midland and their sanitizing protocols are above and beyond expected. They offer brand new surgical masks and alcohol hand sanitizer at the door. I personally observed the cleaning of the changing room in between customers. They even go so far as to put the clothing items that I touched in a "quarantine" period for 24 hours, prior to adding the product back on the racks. This forethought is impressive. We will be back! I was trying to look at some pants where they were working and putting together a display it seemed, they didn't offer to move. They had sale signs everywhere and then when I asked if a shirt was apart of the sale they stated " the sale doesn't start until tomorrow ". This was my second time in this location and the second time no one greeted or asked if they could help me. I know other locations are not like this one. I will never go back to this location and will go to other locations in other towns. I have never had this problem in other towns where Loft is located. I was not the only customer that felt this way. Two ladies stopped me after leaving and stated that they were disappointed in how the staff treated customers. One of the ladies was having trouble getting a shirt off the rack and asked "why are these hung backwards"? The clerk responded " they are supposed to be like a question mark". They didn't offer to help her take it off the rack for her and I noticed none of the other clothes were hung like a " question mark"in other parts of the store.
