I made a large purchase at Michaels at Christiana Mall yesterday. I was shocked to find they no longer offer any bags. I said to the service rep at the register, " are you kidding me"?! I realize that this is a company choice but I was still dismayed. Miranda, the "customer experience manager " was there and quickly defended the store. She said, everyone has changed to this now" . She went on to say that Walmart doesn't offer bags anymore. I have two things to say to this, I'm not at Walmart, and I don't shop Walmart. One reason is that I expect better service from other retailers. i don't expect the customer service to be so rude at Michaels but if you strive to be Walmart, keep up the lack of service and promoting incredibly rude people to manage customer service. She didn't stop muttering about how I could expect bags until I left. I would like to add that the young woman at the register was perfectly helpful and did not argue with me. She just offered the bags to purchase. Maybe she should be the customer see manager. I will gladly take my business elsewhere if this is what I have to expect. read more

I took a piece to be framed at Michaels with an estimated finish of two weeks. A call was promised when the work was ready. No call came, so I went in person about two weeks after the scheduled completion date. The worker could not find my piece (payment was completed at time of order.) She called her manager, and I was promised a call on Monday, as this was a Saturday. In the meantime, she searched one more time and found the piece. The frame was completed but the work had not been mounted and was laying in the bottom of the frame. Left it to be fixed and waited for the promised call on Monday - never came. When I tried to call the store twice later in the day, the phone system kept hanging up on me. I went back on Tuesday and the piece was still not fixed. The manager was there and was able to fix it while I waited. Refund for all this trouble? $11 store credit! Apparently Michael's policy is 10% regardless of the circumstances. I do not plan to use Michaels again and would suggest anyone with a framing project to support a local business. read more

Good selection of picture frames on sale, I came with a tote full of old photos to choose frames. I left after buying only two BECAUSE THE VERY ANNOYING MUSIC WAS SO LOUD THAT I COULDN'T CONCENTRATE! It was much louder in the back of the store than at th registers. TURN THE MUSIC DOWN, or off, no one comes to a craft store to hear music. read more

The Michaels Rewards system doesn't work. I tried to use my rewards and the cashier, who was very polite, told me that it had to correlate with my rewards membership phone number. So she put in my phone number and it didn't show up. So she put in another phone number and it didn't show up. So then she asked me for my email and it didn't show up, I showed her that I was getting text messages from Michael's on my phone and emails from Michael's so I was having trouble understanding why neither my phone or my email was connected. The cashier asked somebody up the chain in Michael's for help, and that person was horrendous! No apologies for a broken system. No offer for giving me a little extra discount. Absolutely nothing! I didn't make the purchase and I walked out and said that I would never be back and this so-called manager said OK. So it was OK with her to lose a customer. I did write corporate and mentioned this person's name and suggested they may not want to put any more money into grooming her for a management position since she really couldn't care less. read more

Anytime I need a craft item, I wait until I'm on my way to Delaware and stop by this Michael's! I've found odd craft supplies cheaper here than on Amazon.com and the coupons are always worthwhile. The store itself is very clean and easy to maneuver, though I wish there were more associates around to help...I do tend to get overwhelmed when looking for things here. I get easily distracted by the craft project displays in the middle of the aisles. They don't have papermaking or bookbinding supplies (they used to carry them but apparently that stopped) but they did have a latchhook rug grid and the backing to make T-shirt quilts. This is in a great location around a lot of other awesome stores and the best part is it's TAX FREE! read more

The management is very unprofessional. I went inside to get a few things for a diy project and I asked an employee where to find the item and she literally said "it's right there don't you see it?" And gave me the dirtiest look. I always hear them talking about other employees sharing business that is not theirs to share. Nobody has respect in there. Very sad. read more

What is happening at Michaels. The store has nothing the one at the old ac more it never has anything it not stocked why they go in there if they are not stocking the place this is the second time I was there and nothing it too bad bug store it could be stocked I know covid was a problem but they gave nothing and to top off everything the employees were rude two people working and they were rude what is wrong with people they should be nice to people they gave a job if they do not want to work then leave it will be a long time before I go back to bad we needed a craft store there but it not looking good read more

Typical craft store. Giving 3 stars for the rude woman who would prefer to be a snotty know it all about oil paints rather than answer a few quick questions in a plesant manner. Unless you have a coupon the prices are a little high. $24.99 for an empty scrap book that has to be filled with paper ($$) and pictures ($$), not a deal. read more
