I went to get an 8x8 frame with an opening 6x6. After waiting several minutes for help I got the mgr to help me because the regular in the framing dept was out. He was not efficient because he was not used to using the equipment. I got a receipt that I had paid and it gave a date when the work would be complete and a note that said Michael's would call. Several days after the promised date I hadn't heard so I called them. Yes, my work was ready for pickup. When I got it home I discovered the mat was not 8x8. Micheal's has just gone total self check out. My experience was not good. Codes didn't work had to get a person to help. This is why I hate self checkout. Plus I don't work for them nor get a discount for doing an employee job. Just big corporate way of getting rid of employees and making their customers do the work. I probably won't be going back. If it weren't for PetSmart being right next door, I'd likely walk home instead of stopping at Michael's with the fiance when we're nearby. Thanks to the ingenious location I can sit outside and play with the anxious pups. They always jump out of their owner's car so happy when they realize they're going on a fun adventure and not the vet. Not sure if the owner's like it or not, but I'm going to play with your pooch despite being allergic. Michael's, on the other hand, not really for me. Granted, half of my Sanctuary is decorated with their goods, but I'm totally okay with letting my fiance take care of that. You know what they say, "Happy wife, happy life." Fun fact, whoever first said that had a wife who looooved Michael's. The one time I did venture inside I got lost in some sort of pirate themed section for at least 30 minutes. Pretty cool stuff. Lory got some kind of faux flowers to toss in a wicker vase or whatever. Eventually I wandered outside and played with Bryndal the golden retriever while she waited in line. I guess this review is more of a PSA for dog lovers who have to occupy themselves to keep sanity while their significant others have their fun. Bit of advice, stuff your pockets with dog treats and you'll have the dog owner's wondering why their pets like you more. Michael's, you serve your purpose and for that alone, 3 stars. +1 because my bathroom smells like potpourri all the time. EDIT: Fiance read this and is forcing me to change it to 5 stars. Whatever. Hannah, manager, is 100% rude and unprofessional! I will most likely stop shopping there and delete my rewards membership bc of her complete lack of ability to treat customers with any level of respect!!!! I have honestly never been this pissed off at an interaction at a store as I am after today! I have been in nursing, management, sales and customer service for over 30 years and there is no way any employee I supervised would have kept her job after having acted as she did!! I almost never leave reviews but I am so appalled and mad I have to. I shop at Michaels regularly, like at least once a week. I have spent literally thousands of dollars there. I have never had any issues until today. I return items sometimes and maybe more than others bc I buy so much. I have always been very pleased with the ease of the return process. I returned an item last night which I used a very small amount of and it sucked. I wasn't able to repackage it bc the packing sucks too. The girl returned it as she should have. I get to the register today and had a return along with purchases. She informs me she got in trouble for doing my return last night bc it wasn't packaged properly. First of all why are you telling me this?! So, one of the items I was returning today wasn't able to be packaged the same either. The manager, Hannah, comes over and has nothing but a complete attitude problem! Words, tone, eyes, body language! She says they have to be able to resell returns and can't if it's used. I say, first I've never had any issues, second, how am I supposed to know of a product is good or will work for me if I don't use some of it?! She has no response, never looks at me, continues to fiddle with the packaging as though I had just handed her a bunch of rabbit turds to handle. Finally I just said to forget it. It was only $3 and I'm over it. Again, she never acknowledged me, kept looking at the receipt as though I'm trying to return something I stole, and processes the return. She never asked about the other item I was returning which was $10 and I simply taped the package together. The return was processed and she proceeded to walk Away in disgust and full of major attitude all while never acknowledging me. The cashier, who is new, just followed the managers lead and was clearly looking at me as though I'm doing something wrong. I told her I'm sorry she got in trouble but she shouldn't have and asked her wtf Hannah's issue is. One of the items I was purchasing was clearly labeled as $2 on the shelf and it rang up as $3. I told her and she stood there like there's nothing she can or will do and I'm lying. I said forget it I'll just pay the $3. The entire interaction was nothing but BS, un called for and far below any respectable level of customer service or just human curtesy! I will also add that I was assisted by some male manager I've never seen before last night. He was not friendly however he was very helpful and his solution was perfect so I didn't say anything. I'm saying something now bc clearly the moral in the store has become non existent and no one cares about customer service or basic human respect! I will never shop if Hannah is working that day! I will walk out and just go to Joanne's or order from Amazon! I may just do that anyway. Oh, I forgot, they were out of a certain product for a week except in a package of 5 other of this brand. I asked Hannah if she can just let me get the one I need and she can put the rest on the shelf with all the others. She looked at me as though I had just asked her to give me something for free or to help me rob a bank and proceeded to tell me, in a tone as though I am tbe dumbest person on the planet, why she can't/won't do that. I left it alone bc if I responded I would have told her exactly what I think of her and I wasn't going to take the bait and stoop to her level. Ok, I'm done, thank you to whomever reads this rant. I am very pissed about the entire interaction and I think I'm just not going to use anything I bought and return it and say it's bc Hannah has completely turned me away from Michaels and I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on bc at this moment that is exactly how I feel! read more

Wait...so I checked in here, and I earned Yelp's Geek badge....awesome! :). This is a Michaels like all the others. It has everything you need for your crafty life. We stopped in this time to get blingy sparkle initial stickers for our cruiser bikes- geeky? Maybe..... They have everything here. I bought a ton of fake flowers a while back and they were all 50% off- they always have great deals like that going on. I saw 40% off picture frames! Even if you don't have an idea of what you want to buy, just walk down the aisles, and eventually you will see something that you HAVE to have- it always happens. It is the way of Michaels. Don't fight it. Embrace it. I'm sure they do some scientific research so that even big studley bearded men can't walk out without buying something. The good thing is, everything is fairly reasonable and with the 50% off coupons they email you, you will always walk out a winner. read more

Giving Michael's a 5/5 rating because of their great employee, Ray. She welcomed me with a kind smile, & I think the best thing about walking into a store is being welcomed with a smile like that, it shows that there's going to be an employee that is willing to help, if needed. & I certainly did need help because I don't regularly shop at Michael's, I was looking for a product but I could not seem to find it, so I quickly searched to see if Ray was nearby, & she was. I asked her for help, & she quickly helped me. The energy and kindness she has is amazing, it shows she's committed to her job. She is not at all like other employees I've encountered who are rude when you ask them for help. Stores need more employees with the attitude that Ray has. I also wanted to know what the Michael's reward membership exactly does, & Ray enlightened me on all the Pros about it!! She knows her stuff about the store & I truly appreciated that. I know there's employees out there who have no idea what they talk about, they just talk to talk, but not Ray! Love this Michael's & I'll certainly keep going back & will be asking Ray for help if I ever need it again. read more

Michael's at Pineridge Road in Naples. In every dried flower section signs indicating 50% After I spent quite time collecting flowers for an arrangement II waited in the line for 10 minutes to pay. When I got to the cashier she told me that my flowers were not on sale but only the floral arrangements. I do not like this deceptive advertising. Michaels knows the only thing people are seeingIs the 50% off This is very poor business practice cashier felt that I should have read the fine print. I do not like this kind of bait and switch. Having visited several Michael's department stores in different towns, I would rate this store is comparable to all that I have visited. Well I am not the typical consumer for this type of store, they certainly have lots of arts and crafts supplies for every project imaginable. Their picture frames and framing supplies seem very deep. My impression is that prices are probably a little higher then you might find elsewhere, but the selection can't be beat and therefore this is a good store. read more
