I do not have Rating for this store- I have been here twice and I will not be back. They have a beautiful selection of threads however each time i was not greeted at all even though plenty of people saw us ( my aunt in her 90's and myself) . First time there I spent alot- this time nothing. I absolutely LOVE this shop. I needed filament (as opposed to floss) for a piece I'd started 25 years ago but couldn't find it anywhere. The minute I stepped over the threshold I was asked if I needed help. The shop had exactly what I needed and while there I was helped by or chatted with four different sales women. All were helpful, encouraging and sweet. I simply cannot imagine how this business has terrible reviews. I was impressed and SO HAPPY that I went back 2 more times during my stay in Naples. The women in this location are so rude. Unfortunately, they are the only game in town. I am sure the owners do not even see or care about a yelp review. I was chastised because I didn't have 16 cents and the salesperson had to make change. I heard another salesperson being rude to an elderly client. They are just the worst. read more

I've been a customer at Needlepoint in Paradise since I moved to Naples in 2005. I begrudgingly go there when I need a new project but I don't look forward to the condescending attitude of the women who work there. I love to needlepoint so buying a new canvas and choosing the yarns is a special treat. God know there prices at NIP are outrageous but the quality is good. Needlepoint is a fading hobby and I hate the image of it being damaged by snooty sales people. So sad. read more

My husband bought me two Christmas stockings at this store a year ago and paid an enormous amount of money. Following the purchase I went to ask for advice about choosing wool and found the staff to be extremely unfriendly, bordering on rude. I returned and eventually got someone to help me pick the wool for one stocking. Today I returned at 3 o'clock to pick wool for the second stocking. Although the sign on the door that I saw stated they were open till four, I was told immediately that they were closing at three for summer hours And it was posted on another area on the door. Maybe posting it OVER the original would be smarter. Then Someone else came over and said "oh you still have somebody here" making it pretty plain I was no longer welcome in the store. If there was any other needlepoint company in this area you would never see me set foot in that store again. Apparently the first time was not unusual and this is the attitude these women have all the time. Kindness would be a better way to deal with the public. read more

I've been needlepointing for decades. When I visit Naples, I stop in Needlepoint In Paradise for threads or to see fresh ideas. Unfortunately, I've found the staff to be very, very, unfriendly. I consider myself a regular customer during season but today was my last visit. It is a shame as shopping for needlepoint is a treasure and should be thoroughly enjoyed. read more

Based on previous reviews I was reluctant to go but decided to give it a chance. Upon arrival they were very helpful and welcoming. Helped me and was pleasantly surprised. However, my follow up experience was not so gracious, they change their hours or close without notification on Facebook or other platforms (voicemail) - so I ended up driving 45 minutes one way. When I kindly asked in the future to post via Facebook or other methods so as not to waste their customers time, customers who have spent a considerable amount of money - they were snarky and rude. I am not sure I will reward this small business with my future spends as there are many other ones who are quite helpful and actually kind. read more

If I could give this establishment 0 stars, I would. This is the second time I've visited, so excited about the amazing selection of yarns and canvases. But absolutely no one greeted us when my husband and I entered. Although there were several employees up front, no one asked me if I needed any help. I may not look like someone who will spend thousands of dollars, but I would have bought something. I drove 45 minutes to visit the shop. Before leaving, I checked their website for their hours of operation. The website had not mentioned that they changed their hours to close at 3:00 p.m. I arrived at 2:45 p.m. and started shopping. Within 5 minutes, the salesperson was extremely rude and began taking off her apron to indicate preparation for closure. As any crafter knows, choosing your next project takes some time. Five (5) people were working at the time, and not one of them would help me beyond 3:00 p.m. Not only would they not help me, but they all were insulting about their new closing time, even though there was no mention on their website. I am a year-round Naples resident and can respect that they changed their hours along with the change in seasonal visitors, but the rude behavior is unacceptable. I visited this store for the first time today. I had ordered my canvas over the phone as I knew they were having an upcoming trunk show of the designer I wanted. They pulled the thread ahead of time and everything was perfect when I arrived today to pick up. The store was empty which is always nice when in search of canvases and accessories. Lynn was knowledgeable and helpful with my many questions. I am a beginner. Helping a customer with needlepoint can be very time consuming for the staff and getting good service can be difficult. Needlepoint in Paradise was exceptional and we are fortunate to have this store in the area. I do think there may be staff not as experienced as Lynn. And I can see it would be different if there had been more customers in the store. Very thrilled at the wide selection of canvases. This is a special place. read more

As a recalcitrant spouse driving my wife to this store, as well as picking up completed merchandise, I have had the opportunity to watch, listen and develop an opinion over several years. While pulling up this location I also read the related reviews and concur with most of them. This store has great merchandise but "caveat emptor" when dealing with most of the staff. They are ill-prepared in terms of quantity of materials needed to complete a canvas and bigoted in terms of their attitude and demeanor to anyone who is "not part of the clique." Be prepared to be insulted by not being served in a timely manner, being ill advised, and spending more than the going market. read more

I"m not very happy with Needlepoint in Paradise. I used to think they really were paradise, but alas, no longer. I was over sold 11 skeins of Silk & Ivory fiber by a sales person for the completion of 2 canvases. Upon completion (6 weeks later), I was told that the store would not accept my return. I wasn't looking for money back, simply a store credit to be used later in time. The skeins are in pristine condition & I have multiple skeins in each color, so dye lot cannot be an issue. I was told they have a "no returns" policy with no exceptions. An unfortunate and short term business practice as the result is one less customer for life! read more

It's the most amazing selection of floss and supplies that I've ever seen. I was truly like a kid in a candy shop!! It's worth going to, to see what's out there...that being said, nothing is priced! Very irritating when I was walking around with the stitch guide to a Very expensive hand painted canvas. All I wanted to do was spend money. I was informed that they never use other people's stitch guides...no offer of help. I asked about classes, and was told to go online. I have been in the Naples area for the past 17 years. I have been going into Needlepoint in Paradise(hell) since they have been in their current location. Everytime I go in the rudeness gets worse. I only go in for threads anymore because I refuse to spend any money there. I mostly order my threads and canvasses on EBay. Once again I lowered myself and went in today. The owner was at the front desk and as par for the course refused to even greet me and my friend. We chose what we needed and went to check out. The owner walked past us twice and finally asked if we needed help. I wanted to say No we are just standing here for the fun of it. She walked on by. Finally someone came and checked us out. This is truly the very last time I ever go in. The rudeness and disrespect shown by this owner is totally unacceptable. There are many stitches in my complex and none will go in this store. I am amazed she can in good conscience act so rude and disrespectful to people who want to buy from her shop. It's just beyond me. Thank goodness for EBay. read more

Needlepoint in Paradise is my favorite needlepoint store anywhere, and there are plenty that I like and have enjoyed visiting all over the country. NIP has a great selection of canvases in it's own inventory as well as a vast array of threads from simple cotton floss to hand-dyed silks. They offer discounts on trunk show pieces and have all kinds of books, accessories and other fun items for stitchers as well. The staff is very knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful, and I've met lots of fellow needle artists at the open stitch on Wednesdays. It's a fun place to be, and I've made some nice friends there! Coming to one of the classes taught by a top instructor (Susan Portra) in 2008 got me stitching again after a long hiatus, and I really enjoy taking classes there to bring my skills up to new levels. I've been a devotee ever since. All this being said, I read Susan H's review with great astonishment. Every once in a while, someone comes in the store with a lousy attitude, and she seems to be one of those people. Her description of the place is unrecognizable. I know for a fact that the owners do everything they can - sometimes at great cost to themselves - to make things right for a customer on the rare occasion something doesn't turn out as hoped. They use excellent finishers - the top in the business - and the great number of gorgeous pieces on display in the store attests to that. NIP is one of my happy places - I hope she steers clear and takes her negative vibes elsewhere! read more

I went into the shop after talking to a top designer in the needlepoint world of canvases to buy thread and see what I may find to buy. I was in the store for 15 minutes with threads in hand. Not one person said hello. I found 3 canvases I wanted to buy. Yet, nobody was there to even ask about getting for me. There was only one other customer in the store that was getting help with threads. I don't know if it was because I am not over the age of 40 or 50 that I wasn't as important? Or that they didn't think I was worth talking to. Who knows! I was really disappointed because this was my first time ever venturing into a store while on vacation. I had such high hopes. They have a large selection of fibers. I will give them that. I am certain they have a lot of local women that go to the store to hang out during the day and chat and stitch since it seemed they have a huge work area set up. I would say to give the store a chance. But, honestly I refused after a while to buy anything if I can't even get a simple hello or greeting. I really love Needlepoint in Paradise. I've visited needlepoint stores all over the country and, while there are some really nice ones, they can't compare with this shop. The staff is so knowledgeable and helpful, the selection of threads is fantastic, and I can always find a canvas that suits just what I am looking to do. I've also gotten to take classes with great instructors. I read Susan H's review with surprise - and a great deal of skepticism. I know for a fact that the owners go out of their way to make things right for customers if they are disappointed. They don't use any but the best finishers in the first place, and, even then, if something doesn't turn out as expected, they have it remade at no additional cost to the customer. read more

When I agreed to buy a house in Florida, it was with the condition that there would be a superb needlepoint shop within driving distance. We first rented a house for 8 weeks; I visited Needlepoint in Paradise 7 times - just couldn't stay away. Before going back north, we bought a house. A newcomer to Florida just asked me where she could buy thread and canvas; I'll be taking her to NiP so that she can roam the 4 rooms stocked with the widest variety of threads I've seen anywhere. There is a full staff always happy to help - and some comfy chairs for husbands waiting for their wives to make their selections. Is it easy to choose? I have been in this shop for quite a few years. Everytime I go in the staff is rude and snotty. They act like they could care less if you are there or not. I was in there today and stood at the counter to check out for over 10 minutes. Staff continued to ignore me. I was with a friend who could buy and sell this place but because she doesn't fit the " Naples" look they ignored her too. Not to be trusted! I had a handmade needlepoint pillow that I brought to them for finishing and they charged me a phenomenal amount of money & the job done was awful. I hated the fabric they chose for backing- said "they couldn't match color I chose" and the pillow was crunchy and hard as a rock to the touch. So I carefully opened the pillow to see what on earth they stuffed it with by cutting a few stitches into the seam and found a disastrous mess inside the finished pillow. It was shoved full of dirty batting and a cheap flat smaller than appropriate size. In addition, they would not refund me in full- it was such an unpleasant exchange and I felt unsafe being there by myself. I took my husband for the second attempt to get a refund but they refused a full credit! They refunded me partial $ but the credit card company refunded me the rest of balance based on photos & obvious mistakes made by NEEDLEPOINT IN PARADISE! They were rude, aggressive and in my opinion a most unpleasant business! I've consulted with a professional finisher and she said "I've never seen ANYTHING like this awful mess!" Luckily she is finishing my pillow now! read more
