But its proximity to other cool places is just the beginning. Oxide features works by three different potters and whether you like your clay to be fashioned in a way that is more modern or more traditional, they've got pottery for everyone. On a recent visit I browsed everything from plates, bowls, and vases to honey jars and shot glasses. They even had cute, little handmade gift tags for those of you (not me) who are generous enough to by something at Oxide for someone other than yourself. Even if pottery is not one of your everyday purchases, Oxide is worth a visit so you can see a truly amazing work of art that is literally built into the front wall of the store ... at first glance the front wall looks very white and clean but closer observation reveals that the wall features imprints of hundreds of items from the whimsical (small hearts and stars) to the everyday (scissors and wrenches). The wall, which looks like a freshly scrubbed fossil and covers the entire front of the store, was made by the owner - who must have the patience of a saint - by creating a mold of each item. After creating molds, he cast many, many objects and then literally covered the wall by piecing together the letters, objects, and shapes. This wall is truly the sum of its parts. The pottery is beautiful and the wall is a man-made wonder!

The owner, Evan, is very kind and personable and it's clear he wants to encourage a positive gaming community in Lynchburg. He's also a great businessman, which is essential because when a business does good, I really want them to flourish and stick around. All the employees here are likewise kind, funny, and helpful- I've never felt ignored or treated poorly at all. The space has restrooms, cheap sodas and Gatorade, gorgeous dice sets, card packs, TTRPG books, and more. I've now played a few Lorcana casual league and tournament events here, and Dragon Fire Games has definitely succeeded in fostering a safe and inclusive space for gamers (especially us older-aged gamers and newbies). I wish I was able to hang out here more often (and that the games didn't go so very late, for me), but I'm very grateful to have found this place and for Evan's continued management of the space. Definitely come check it out!

Ended up leaving with a game I'll never play. I have like four from 2016 that are still in the plastic. What really made my visit was Charles! What a sweetheart! He took me over to the 3DS game shelves and chatted with me about new games and how everyone has basically moved over to Switch. Gave me some good recommendations on games and stuff. Most GameStop employees are engaging, but he was extra friendly and had all the information. I truly appreciated him. I wasn't planning on renewing my membership, but he was so nice. I just had to. If I'm ever in the Lynchburg area again, I'm going to GameStop just to see him. Great customer service is the way to go and he's doing it just right! Thank you!

Six other customers who witnessed it all dropped their items and walked out with me. I know there is a tape of ALL of this interaction. I have NEVER been spoken to in all of my years by ANYONE in the public as this child did me. All I said was I wanted to get out of here. My family includes 17 children under the age of 18 and their parents as well as myself will not be back to this store. We spend thousands of dollars on the gaming industry yearly. How can someone so disrespectful be hired to deal with the public anywhere let alone a store children frequent with their parents? Shame on YOU!!!

They chose to act curt and dismissive rather than be friendly and apologetic. When I brought the matter to the owner's attention he questioned his staff, they lied to him about how they handled the situation, and he choose to believe them and responded to me that my "claim was unfounded" (in laymen's terms that means I'm a liar). I responded to this by telling him the only option he left me was to share my experience online. He replied to this, in writing, that he would take legal action against me if I left a negative review. He literally threatened to sue me if I spoke against him. When i spoke to the corporate office each representative was absolutely appalled by this. His threat didn't deter me from writing a review on his Facebook page. Several days later he disabled the ability to leave reviews, thus deleting what I wrote in the process. A very sneaky and underhanded move on his part and a very clear reflection of his moral character. The store, itself, is nice. But the owner is the epoitome of everything that is wrong with customer service in the present day. He is rude, arrogant, dismissive, manipulative, and lacks the ability to take even the smallest bit of accountability. Rather than apologize, he'd rather try to cover up, delete, and hide. If you work as hard as I do, then I encourage you to spend your money somewhere else. ANYWHERE else ......
