We were looking for small pieces of cork or wood to elevate the Kaleidoscape above the preamp processor for my home theater to prevent any potential overheating problems. I haven't been in this store in years. There were at least a dozen shoppers. I noticed fall stuff and some Christmas stuff. We looked at cork first and then wood. The store has limited cork inventory, as well as, limited wood pieces. I picked up 4 small cylindrical wood posts and headed to the checkout. These pieces weren't exactly what I needed but they were better than nothing. Checkout was very slow. I couldn't find a person to checkout with so I went to self checkout. After struggling for at least 5 minutes, a store employee came over to help. She struggled with the self checkout. Between the two of us we had to start and stop to start over 4 times before the self checkout register would work properly. I was about to leave everything due to frustration. The store employee was pleasant and cheerful thru the ordeal. She wished me a better day and I told her the same. The person in charge of programming the self checkout registers needs to revisit the code written and make changes so that it doesn't take 2 people 4 attempts to purchase from Michael's. read more

This was the first and only time I EVER walked into this store and it was rude, belligerent, disrespectful and unacceptable to the point where I faxed Corporate. I only went there because I am a Door Dasher and I had an order to fill. The order was for a T-shirt and I didn't see them. Asked register lady where they were, in a dismissive manner "over there" - I went back and saw the shirts. They were at the other end of the aisle I had been on. No big deal. Got the item and went to checkout. That same dismissive wench walked away without saying anything and refused to run my item for whatever reason. She was on self checkout helping an elderly lady so I thought, "Ok - that's compassionate - not a big deal." Then, this white lady is wiping the counters, standing around, looked at me 3 times - and you cannot miss me because I am fat and the only thing missing on my wardrobe is a bumper sticker across my butt that says wide load - you cannot miss me - no lie. I am being timed and need to be checked out NOW or I lose my job. That's not going to happen. The minute I walked to another self checkout, that scab went to the register and hollered CAN I HELP SOMEONE OVER HERE. She chose to be a hateful, horrible person. She chose to treat me like dirt. I walked off of that checkout and put my stuff on the counter and made her check me out. It's principle. I am not a doormat and refuse to allow these ugly people to treat me so badly. There's only 4 customers in the entire store. Maybe it's because of their horrible staff, rude wenches, dismissive and disrespectful to the hilt. I will never spend my money in here. I don't buy items when people treat me poorly. I spend where I am welcome. This location isn't it. read more

This has to be one of the worst Michaels I've ever entered. The customer service is basically nonexistent. Twice I've been in ti have something framed. The first time they said no one could help me. So I left and went to Hobby Lobby. The second time I went a guy at the framing counter said no one was available to help me. As I was walking out I believe it may have been a district manager stopped me to ask me if she could help. I said I needed something framed, but the guy at the counter said no one was able to help. She said there absolutely was someone to help. Now I'm trying to call to check on said order and after 4 try's someone finally answered the phone. I explained that I was calling to see if my framing order was ready. She said there was no one that could help me. Not to mention every time I go in there is merchandise sitting cart and boxes everywhere. I worked for Michael's for 5 yrs so I know they can be very busy this of the year, but that's no excuse for poor customer service. read more

We stopped at this Michaels for curbside pick and it's the best experience I've had at any store. It was truly contactless, once we arrived we called into the store and an employee wearing a mask and completely social distancing came out to deliver our items and put them in our trunk. We had no physical interaction with them except when came up to our window to let us know the receipt has been put in the truck with our items and again stayed 6 feet away with a mask on. This is how every store should be doing contactless pick up! read more

Without a doubt, the customer service is 5 stars here. Although there's a Michael's store closer to me in Madison, I come to this location for most of my frame work needs. Last night's service was just as good as my 1st. In preparation for an upcoming exhibit in Tennessee, I needed wired hooks w museum quality and came here to have them installed. Although I do my own mounting using only archival materials, I prefer to have one of the certified framing experts here secure the hooks on for me as it requires drilling. Amy did just that in last night's visit! While I was in between appointments and in rush mode (aka move outta my way!), I didn't even bother to call in advance as I knew I didn't have to. There's always someone in the Framing department to help. So, in a rush w my heavy 16x20 completed and in-hand I make my way through the sliding front doors and headed straight back to only be welcomed w a smile. I noticed Amy was about to start a new task, but upon seeing me immediately made herself available. I quickly told her what I needed and she was at it in no time! And, [here's the good part]... at no charge! She secured the hooks and wire onto the frame itself, not the back board. If an art piece is large (say 16x20 or larger) with a heavy glass front, and one decides to secure their wiring onto the board, they can expect it to be worth pennies when it falls off the museum walls. They do it correctly here! Where can you get outstanding service like that when it comes to quality framing needs? Ha! Here at Michael's!!! I'm sure they charge for custom framing services at a reasonable price especially those who don't know what they're doing, but since I frame and mount my own work, securing wires is all I need. Certified framing experts here are efficient and accommodating, even with urgent projects needed in a pinch. Consider these folks for your framing projects!! read more

This Michael's has no choices when it comes to craft stuff. The only reason I went today was because they were having a sale. Their 20% of total order regular price or sale items. When I got to the rude cashier and asked her about it she called the manager and I was told it's because my item wasn't on sale, it's reduced and it can't be used on reduced. The other day was my first time to visit Micheal's. I thought Hobby Lobby was all that and then some. I feel in love with that store. Yes Hobby Lobby has more . But Micheals just seems to have it together. Just something about how the store is layed out and the people are so friendly and willing to help you. Great location great pricing great sales.
