Everyone in this store is so helpful. I drive from Huntsville to go to this store. Absolutely the nicest people and so very helpful.

store looks nothing like it does in the photos. It is very cluttered and mixed up and prices are ridiculous. The owner was very rude to my autistic grandson when she admits herself he didn't hurt anything in her store. She said we should ANNOUNCE he has autism when we go into a store! What? That is discrimination! Why should he be singled out. Do I need to announce that I am ADHD when I go into a store. That is also breaking the HIPPA law to even ask that. It is no one's business. His Mother, Dad and myself were all there if she saw him do something he shouldn't have she should have asked us to stop him. But instead she scolded him in front of us and embarrassed him. When a child with autism is reprimanded they lash out and have a melt down and that is what we dealt with the rest of the day. All because he was walking through her isles that were so close together you couldn't get your arm through them. He didn't damage anything, she stated herself. He was just trying to follow what the grownups were doing. I struggled to walk through her cluttered isles myself. We had out of town company with us and they had so been looking forward to going to this store. We will never go again. It doesn't take much to be nice and considerate to people. Most people just have no patience with special needs kids. I have owned and operated a retail business for almost 30 years and never have I ever been rude to a customer and especially not a special needs child. She is also not wheelchair accessible and the isles are so close together even if you got a wheelchair in the store you could not move around. My suggestion would be to shop elsewhere. I do not recommend this store. The public needs to learn how to deal with special needs children. After all they are born 1in ever 50 births it could be you grandchild next. read more

I just moved to the area and was excited to see there was a local cross stitch store. From the moment I walked in, I felt very welcomed. The person working helped me tremendously and was so friendly. I felt like I had known her forever. She helped me pick a fabric and some floss for a project I wanted to start and, of course, I found many things to buy. They have a great selection of patterns, floss, fabric, and all these cross stitch. I can't wait to return! read more

I was very disappointed in the owner of this store. I was so excited to find the shop but to arrive and be greeted at the door with a sign on the door stating that only cross stitchers were allowed in the store because of Covid. She lost what could have been a very large sale for her because she would not allow my husband in the store. She did not ask any questions concerning vaccinations just stated that if he did not stitch he was not allowed in. By the way we both have been fully vaccinated and my husband is in the medical field and is required to get tested for Covid weekly. The only reason I decided to even stay was because my husband convinced me to at least look. What she did not know is that my husband is more knowledgeable about cross stitch charts and floss then I am. I do enjoy stitching but I don't enjoy the shopping and researching what I need so I let him use his hunting instincts to help me out with my hobbies and he definitely is a biggest spender of the two of us. I did purchase a few small treasures that A friend asked me to look for but really next to nothing for myself. I will not waste my time in going back in the store again when Patches and Stitches in Huntsville were as friendly as they could be and had no complaints about my husband and daughters shopping for me. read more

Extraordinarily rude owner. I drove to the Cross Stitch Peddler to buy some floss and browse the patterns. It was a half hour drive for me, and I was looking forward to it. When I walked in, the owner immediately squirted hand sanitizer on my hands and said "You have to use this." She hadn't been wearing a mask so she put one on. I asked if I could buy some floss and she said "I can't have you touching anything back there, because I have my floss organized by color and I don't want anyone going in the bins. I can't have anyone touching the floss." She stopped me 2 feet inside the store and said that I couldn't go back to look at the floss, but that she could get it for me. It was probably the rudest encounter I've ever had with a store owner in my life. Not only did she not want me touching anything in her store, but it was extremely dirty and messy in there, so I'm not sure why she was freaking out about customers touching items. I had a mask on, was clean, and was dressed nicely, so there was no reason for her to treat me like that. Horrible store, horrible owner, horrible experience. Would not recommend at all. If you would like to shop local, I can highly recommend the cross stitch store called Patches and Stitches in Huntsville. I was completely shocked at the rudeness of this store. I went to Hobby Lobby to buy floss instead. read more

I concur-this is one of the best cross stitch shops i have ever experienced! Marlene has a huge variety of products and samples. She is so much fun and encouraging as well.
