I'll start by saying that I wasn't impressed. Keep reading to find out exactly why... So, at work yesterday, a co-worker told me that Michael's had a heritage display in honor of Black History Month. She also mentioned that all the items were on sale. Of course, I decided to stop by Michael's when I left work to check it out for myself. When I entered the store, I walked to where the seasonal items are located. At first, I did not see the display. There were no employees anywhere on the floor in my area so I circled back through and then I saw it. There was definitely a display, but there basically was not much of anything left. Most of the shirts, pins, jewelry, etc. was gone! I'm like...wow! It's only three days into Black History Month and they basically sold out of the heritage items. I hunt an employee down to ask when they are going to restock. She advised they weren't. It's just a "one time thing". Ummmm...excuse me? It's called Black History MONTH! Why would they not restock and we're only a few days into February? I don't like the store's strategy. I'm kind of disappointed. Not sure I'd go back.. read more

We did quite a bit of Christmas shopping at the store this year and really liked all of the home décor that they have. They have some great options for curbside pickup and if you think the store has a lot of stuff, check their website out .... they have tons of items! Prices are pretty good as well, they were really busy when we were there so we didn't have any interaction with employees, except when we were checking out. But, they were friendly and careful with our items we purchased. We didn't even look at all the craft items they have (Christmas shopping day only, the day we went). But the store was large and they had lots of rows of stuff we didn't look at. They also have coupons on a pretty regular basis, so make sure to check those out before paying full price for something. Good store and good locations. We'll be checking them out again in the future. read more

Michaels is your one stop shop for anything crafty. Anytime I need any holiday ideas I come here. They always have some sort of sale going on and if you register online they will send you coupon periodically. Right now all of their Halloween items are 40%off. They already have Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations ready to purchase and some are discounted as well. Micheals looses 1 star because certain areas of the store are a bit messy and unorganized (which I tend to over look sometimes). read more

I asked a simple question about a coupon and was met with a nasty tone and attitude, I got nasty looks from the moment I walked in and felt so uncomfortable. Go to any other micheals but this one. I like Hobby Lobby better. Didn't find what I was looking for here. Most items seemed overpriced. This location is organized, but the lighting and ambience is dated. Lines to check out seemed chaotic. read more

I ordered a 7 foot pre-lit pencil Christmas tree online and saw they had the option for curbside pick up. I LOVED this option because I have limited my in person activity in stores due to COVID, but still want to support businesses in my area. I received and e-mail letting me know that my order was ready and checked in before leaving my house. Once I arrived I selected the option to let the store know I was there and waiting about 10 minutes for my order to come out. The customer service rep verified that I was who I was and placed my tree in the trunk. This was totally contactless and very convenient. read more

OMG...can you say, "Chaos"? Yes, I know what time of the year it is, but good grief...you can't put everything in your entire stockroom on display! It was just SO much fun trying to get through the isles. ;o( And they didn't have what I went looking for. As far as craft stores in birmingham,this has got to be one of my top choices so far. I have not been disappointed in my stops here and always get my mission accomplished with this place. The floral department: there are not any love floral choices but tons of options for decorative floral. I recently got overwhelmed with all of the options I had to choose from for my home autumn look but, I left heppy and got some beautiful arrangements. Prices: in general the prices are competitive to other craft store options. They always have a sale of some sort going on that is actually a money saver. Sometimes I walk in for one thing and see something that is such a steal I actually need and have a double whammy buy:) The store is very visible from the road and easy to find. if I could give this place a no stars I would. the service is below average, so I tried online. ordered at 11 and it's 4 pm now. Notta. I called 3 times to see when it would be ready and no one picked up the phone. I'm frustrated because it's the closest craft store but the inventory and service is really low, and going in or online is the same shitty service. read more

I have always liked. Michaels but my last few visits have been very disappointing. There is never a cart available because usually the carts are inside full of merchandise in the aisles and all over the store. The sales clerks are scattered and not available. One time I walked inside and an employe was on personal cell phone inside store and another was outside smoking. Then I had to buy one thing and the line was terrible~ one cash register opened and 5 in front of me! Very disappointing~ unless something positive changes I will be making the drive 1/2 mile down road to Hobby Lobby planning ahead not to need a craft supply on Sunday! read more

This Michael's was dirty and the staff was nowhere near helpful. I use the Brook Highlands Michael's more often and they're staff have set my standards high! They have always been pleasant and accommodating. While the Mtgmy Hwy may have more foot traffic because of location, I'd avoid it--head to Brook Highlands! read more

LOOOOOOTS of inventory!! Which turns into LOOOOOOOTS of clutter. Yes, they probably have what you need, but good luck finding it, unless you are a veteran. I give it 3 stars simply because their prices are good and they have a ton of stuff but the staff are always busy and don't go out of their way to help, and the aisles are narrow, so don't try to shop in an area that is already occupied.
