The store looks like Joann's did right before they closed them all. major sections empty, even on standard item aisles they have large amounts of outages. the staff was roaming around in a pack, like wolves, laughing and enjoying their Saturday. Yet little to no recovery was being done, as aisles had items on the floor, not front faced etc. Partially done planograms on several aisles just left half done with carts of product left on the aisle. Tyson helped me the other day and I could not have been more impressed. I have never received that great of help at this store or for that matter most stores. He helped on the register. He knew his products, he lead me to the exact product and when I thought it was too much in price he showed me how I could save with a coupon and did the entire process for me. He also signed me up to received coupons. I mean he was amazing!!!! He showed me other products I was inquiring about and knew exactly what I was after and how it would work for my projects. We came to the store because we were in search of plastic mason jars and we had purchased them from this store in the past. The store: unfortunately the store feels very outdated. The products seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper and it never feels clean. Things are in a shamble, disorganized and picked over. The staff: discontent and bothered that you are a customer is the best way I can describe the feeling it left me with. We used the self service check out and when we said the system wasn't taking the discount on the computer we were asked if we were members - in a way that was clearly saying "you are not." The woman's attitude changed once she came over to help and actually saw our member number was entered in the system. Why come here - because there are times when you need a art / craft or simple item that you don't want to spend a lot of money on and this is the Walmart of Art and Craft stores. Michaels, in general, could do better. All of their buildings tend to feel a bit dingy and depressing to me. That being said, out of all the Michaels I've been to in the area, this is my favorite. They usually have all that I need (more than the rest) and I really appreciate the self checkout, since finding an employee that can help you is nearly impossible, seemingly due to constant understaffing. If you don't need help and you're just trying to get in, get out, then this would be my recommended craft store. read more

This location is in need of a serious makeover! It's so disorganized and always a mess. There is no logic to how and where items are located. Most Michaels follow a similar footprint and layout, crucial to any brand, so customers feel instantly familiar and know where to get their items. Not here! I wander aimlessly searching, no help in sight. It's a rare occurrence for me to shop here, usually only when I am in need of something from Michaels at the exact same time I am in this vicinity! Went here again to find something for a simple project. I really feel like this place is like a huge unorganized maze made to make you wonder aimlessly for ever. Getting help is also always an epic adventure. This place feels huge but their selection of items is really quite small. It's like they tried to jam just way too much stuff in there so they have a bare minimum taste of everything. I've been there 4 times now and yet to leave not frustrated. The other one by my old house was about this size but always had people on the floor to help. Was better organized and had more of a selection of things. I went there all the time and loved it. Was my favorite store. This one I dread going to. At Least the cashiers are always nice and smiling. read more

This store has been outdated for a few decades, but now it's just downright sad and a little dirty. I stopped in the day after New Year's Day and the store looked like it was having a going out of business liquidation, but it wasn't. The inventory was totally picked over and not just an empty seasonal section, which is to be expected right after Christmas. The paints, wood working products, party decor, etc. were all sold out of tons of items. Next time I'll how to a different craft store because it's hard to find what you need when they're sold out of almost everything. read more

Do not expect great customer service because you won't get it but honestly I could care less because I am a craft store pro and come here all the time. The have coupons (go online or on your phone and grab them every time you shop) which are pretty great and always have super sales throughout the store. The rule here is NEVER buy anything full price. If you need a spendy item you can always get a 40% an item coupon...go one day after another with two different coupons if you need to - the savings are WELL worth it seriously. I find so much for my house here and love wen they come out with whatever seasons new stuff. This particular location as a great selection of home decor stuff whereas the one on Nyberg Rd in Tualatin has far more terrarium supplies (pro tip). I went in last night and for $20 I bought a pile (and I do mean PILE) of clearance little chalkboard clip labels for when we host wine and cheese parties, a large easel version of the same, a gorgeous Parisian inspired magnet box (to hold my colored pencils), a paper mache gift box and a set of three hair clips. This brings me to several other points with Michaels which are most about the front of the store where you can find "THE BINS". First off...this place RULES for stocking stuffers...most are $1.50 and under and are great stuff if you look. Anything from lotions, monogrammed mini tissue packs...you name it. I had been looking everywhere for a magnetic notepad - just something for our fridge grocery list so I wanted it to not be ugly but everywhere I looked..ugly or expensive. Randomly Michaels had ones with a simple fleur de lis - great magnet, looks awesome....$1.50 each - NO JOKE...I bought a stack! They change out the stuff constantly so take a peek. Yesterday's score was three hair claws (the perfect size you cannot find anywhere)....$1.50....can they even make them for that cheap?? I almost always find something in one of those bins so take a slow peek while getting into the line. read more

This property should be bulldozed like many other properties have been in the area. The parking lot is full of weeds, the parking stripes are so faded it is difficult to even know where the lines are to park. The building is dirty and the color is outdated. The entrance is filthy and has debris and dead leaves in corners. There is no customer rest room anymore. There was one in January when I was there but now there is no door handle on it and it is locked. I guess they don't care about their customers. I actually left the store sooner than I had planned because I needed to use the rest room. And I don't know why they are putting the cute decor collections in the far back of the store instead of at the front area...that is good stuff. I won't return to this store. Yuck! read more

The exterior isn't the best in terms of being up to date but the interior is a spacious floor plan with aisles and aisles- don't forget about the side aisles as I went down the main walkway and had to turn around a couple of times. Instead of the checkout lanes taking up more space vertically, they are placed in a cubicle format which creates more space for products. Looking for wide ribbon that another retail store didn't have was my mission and what a great selection of colors and designs! The original price was 4.99 but at checkout it must have been on sale as it was $1.50, savings galore! One thing I've encountered at craft stores in general is that there are no emoloyees among the store and so asked a fellow shopper who was carrying around ribbon where she found the product. I tend to just go to the nearest dollar store or whatever is convenient for craft items but am recalling why Michael's is the place to go! read more

Gah Michaels makes it damn near impossible to like them. I would honestly give 0 stars if I could. I placed an online order and received a confirmation email. Well I grabbed my wallet, so I'd have the card I used and my ID and "ran in." Ten minutes later, most of which I spent waiting even to be acknowledged, I walked out empty-handed. The MANAGER was at the "online order" pickup area and didn't ACKNOWLEDGE ANYONE. He was SO rude. His way to let people know he was aware we were there waiting was to call someone to help with the online orders. The poor guy, Eddie, who finally came to help (in fairness he was busy with a customer) couldn't find their iPad, which shows what orders are ready for pickup, and where they are. Then he took care of the woman in front of me (saying her order was in a weird spot,) and told me he couldn't find mine. He finally got his hands on an iPad and said my order wasn't there. Then I get back to the car, where my phone was and see that moments ago my order was cancelled as the items weren't in stock wow. The ad with Busy Phillips sure makes it look easy for online orders. What a bunch of crap. Save your time, money and energy and order from Amazon or go to Craft Warehouse. read more

I continue to give this place chances but today was my last straw. I purchase book bins for my classroom all the time using my weekly 40% off coupons. Today the "unnamed cashier" decided to argue with me and tell me it was an everyday value item. When I told her it wasn't and that I purchase this item all the time with coupons she argued with me and then acted like she was doing me a favor by giving me the discount. She told me to talk to corporate. I talked to corporate and guess what I was right it's not an Every Day value item. I go here quite often for art supplies but lately ive begun to be quite irritated at the store, and possibly finding another arts and crafts store to go to. Ive been in the store frequently in the past few weeks as im getting into another project and one very irritating thing thats been occurring is the pricing is not correct on half of the items i bring up to the register. One trip i went to purchase some colored pencils and i was thinking to use their 50% off online coupon on. I see the price in the isle, and go up to the register and its a different price. Apparently its on sale, and my coupon wont work. This has happened a few times and its very frustrating shooing on a budget and coming up to the register and finding out that im over shooting my budget by quite a lot. On another occurrence i was in to buy some oil paints. There are different quality paints, some left in the open and some behind a locked case, I picked a tube of paint out that was left in the open which is cheaper. After waiting in line for a very long time i went to the register and the tube of paint i had was priced at about $54 dollars instead of the $17 i pulled the item from. I asked the cashier if thats correct as i was sure i didnt imagine things. She turned to a coworker who scanned the item again and said it was $54 dollars. Two things wrong with this scenario. The first is that one of them should have gone to check the price physically. The second is that who ever is stocking the items is obviously putting them in the wrong place, or the pricing system is flawed and is not recognizing the different paint costs. Either way i had to say NO to the purchase. I even went back into the store to see if i was indeed correct on the price, and it came to me that the price was possibly for the more expensive tube. Regardless it shows that the store cannot stock their items correctly or price them accordingly. Ive never run into this problem before but its very hard to shop when the price of the items is RANDOM AS HELL. If youre going to offer so many sales and promotions each week, make sure your staff is pricing the items accordingly. Unless its on the way i doubt ill be revisiting a Michaels store any time soon. read more

The store has lots of craft items and supplies but the staff are very unfriendly and give very poor customer service. I have been here several times and I want to like this store but it has a poor layout and it's disorganized, unless you like trying to hunt down and find items. I also had to walk around and try to find a staff person. When I finally saw a salesperson, she took off in the other direction. I don't think the staff workers are treated well themselves as when I was checking out, the salesperson was told she couldn't take a break because another salesperson hadn't shown up yet. read more

I'm a regular at both of the Michaels in the Beaverton area, and I definitely prefer this location. It seems more spacious and spread out, it seems much better stocked, and they seem to have more merchandise in general. My only complaint is that their scrapbook section sometimes seemed to be organized in a strange way; some items that you would expect to find together are not together. Whoever made some of those decisions should be seriously questioned. However, I still choose this location over Evergreen. I've never needed help before, so I can't speak to the understaffed issues mentioned by other reviewers, but my checkout experiences have always been pleasant. read more

I'm updating my review. Seriously not the best customer service. I went in to look for some tie dye stuff. All they had were the small bottles that claim to make 36 things which isn't even try because a friend of mine had one of those abs it made maybe 10-12 not 36+ like the box said. Anyways I asked an employee and she told me it was in a certain aisle and I double checked that aisle (ok more like 6 times and all the other aisles around it). Couldn't find bigger bottles of tie dye. Waste of my time. Might go check somewhere else. Good sales though read more

This location is pretty dismal. I come here frequently since it is near me, I have been to many other michaels locations and this one is by far the poorest experience. The building itself. Is very rundown, even the 'M' in Michaels is missing. I often ask staff where something is or a question about product and haven't had a good experience there. Yesterday I needed Cotton string for a loom, they didn't even have that, the selection is getting worse it seems and feels like it is filled with more tacky holiday junk than arts and crafts. read more

Justin in the framing department is top-notch. Great eye for color, and makes sure the custom frame goes with the theme of the art. He's done probably 10 projects of ours over the past 5 years, and I'll keep hoping back. We remain very happy with the work he has done and often receive compliments.
