It's Michael's. Of course I'm giving it 5 stars! This is a great location. Easy, highly visible access from the highway. Not the biggest location, but they neatly pack quite a bit of goodies in to the space. I've always had positive experiences with their employees. Whether I go to Michael's or Hobby Lobby typically depends on which has what I want on sale. This week, it was Michael's. But even better, I was offered the option of doing site to store and saving an additional 20%. So I paid for everything online and had an email in 30 minutes letting me know my order was ready for pickup. This not only saved me time but also money, with no impulse purchases! read more

I found this Michaels to be arranged very similar to the one in Castleton, so I assume this is the standard layout for most of the franchises. (I think the one on the south side is a little different, but similar.) So, I was able to find my way around the store to the areas of interest quickly. I was also pleased that this location had lots of staff working the floor during my visit, so if I had any questions, there were plenty of people to ask. The staff here wasn't as outwardly friendly as the Castleton location, but there wasn't anything negative in my visit. Michael's is everything crafty. Regardless of your hobby or project Michael's will most likely have what you need...unless their sold out of a sale item. From scrapbooking, arts and crafts, woodworking, custom framing, shadow boxes, Schleich tigers, lions and bobcats, jewelry design, floral arrangements, and home decor it's here plus more. You'll find lots of items for the DIY weddings, baby showers and parties. Sign up for their rewards program and receive coupons plus you can return items using your purchase history. Customer service can be hard to find except at the registers. We searched the store to find one guy with 4 customers surrounding him. He was pleasant and helped all of us. Unfortunately, the sale item we came for was sold out in Avon, Greenwood, Westfield and Castleton. Lastly, before checkout bring up Michael's app and pull up the discount coupons. I recently found myself running to every Michael's store in the Indy metro area looking for a specific item, so this review should serve to compare those 6 locations. This location is on the larger side, and pretty well stocked and staffed. Not quite as organized as some other locations, but not disorderly so - I was able to find what I was looking for pretty quickly. Very clean location as well. Location is nice, right off the main highway. Of course getting here during rush hour could be problematic, as Highway 36 is a main artery coming out of Indianapolis and into western suburbs (Avon/Plainfield/Danville area.) read more

I have bought so many poster frames here, it is probably embarrassing. But we love the look of one of their more affordable brands so we stop in here every time we have a new poster to frame, we even bought a poster they were selling in store and then bought a frame that same day, haha! Hopefully they last us in the long run, cause right now they look great. Also a good selection of smaller frames and shadow boxes, etc. We are big fans of black colored accessories and this store doesn't disappoint. We use this store because of location and ease of finding things. It is not as big as some of it's nearby competitors but I enjoy their selection regardless and like not feeling overwhelmed. They pretty much always have coupons as you would expect and we used them a lot for a few wedding related projects and those brides that are very DIY would like a lot of the things they have to offer including lots of flowers, vases and a wedding aisle. Prices are fair and staff is friendly and helpful if you need it. Be prepared though for tiny carts (that often roam the parking lot since people are lazy) and small check out register counter space, feel a bit bad for the register workers on that one. read more

Good place to shop for hobbies, crafts, and holiday decorations. My wife and I are always able to find what we are looking for here with the wide variety of options they offer. The only thing I dislike about Michaels is how narrow the aisles are and how you constantly feel like you are packed into a tight space. Other than that I enjoy shopping here and the customer service is always helpful. read more

This is a decent store. I found what I needed and was inspired by their wares. The people were really excellent, though, which is why the high rating. My one year old daughter reached out of the cart and destroyed a piece of packaging on a random item when we were in the check out lane and they didn't charge me. They repaired the packaging. I was really disappointed in my last experience here. For reference, I am a Big in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. So, for an activity, we signed up for a cookie decorating class. Easy and fun, right? Well, it was $15/person, and I thought, "Oh, okay, if it's that much, I'm sure it includes cookies, frosting, etc." Well that's my fault for not reading the fine print. I get that. So I went and spent another $30 on the specialty icing tips and spatulas that they insisted we have.... only to find out that the class was cancelled. No phone call, no email. Nothing. I showed up with my little sister, with all of our supplies, just to be turned away. Then they wanted me to just transfer the credit to the next class, without even telling us what it would be or when it was. I told her, "Wouldn't it just be easier to refund me, then we can sign up for whichever class we'd like to do later?" So she refunds me with.... store credit, not allowing to put it back on my original method of payment even though I had my driver's license, confirmation email, syllabus, everything. So, we just said screw it, went back home, and decorated cookies at my house because I knew my Little was looking forward to this and I didn't want to disappoint her. But all-in-all, I'm out about $60, $30 of which is store credit that I don't even know if I'll use, for a cookie decorating class that could've just cost me $10 if I did it at home. I'm extremely disappointed in this whole interaction and process, and probably won't be returning any time soon. read more
