The massage therapist was happy to customize everything about my massage to suit my taste. The dermasound facial was wonderful--she told me exactly what she was doing and offered specialized suggestions for my skin--without the judgement you sometimes feel. Before I left I purchased some jojoba lotion that Sue had made herself. They used it as a hydrating mask during my facial and I loved it. Overall, a great experience. This is a no-frills homey spa and the staff is very welcoming. Great prices too. I would definitely go back!

Staff (an older woman and a younger girl) enthusiastically celebrated the death of Lindsey Graham, a political figure in front of customers, chanting and dancing which made me feel very uncomfortable. I confronted them saying it's wrong to celibrate anybodys death and was screamed at they hated him and will celebrate Trumps death too. How completely inappropriate for a wellness business. When I expressed that they were unprofessional, the situation escalated. Instead of addressing my concern respectfully, the older staff member yelled at me and ordered me to leave. I expect a respectful, professional environment at a wellness business. I cannot recommend Zen Essential Wellness. I hope the owner watches the video and addresses situation accordingly.

I have been going to this salon for about 2 years now, i get the same bleach and tone everytime and I only go 1-3 times a year. I visit the same stylist and she always does a fantastic job. This time however I had asked before my appointment over text with said stylist if I could go strawberry blonde and she assured me that would be completely fine and just a quick change in my toner. I arrived and was given the complete foil I asked for, but when brought to the bowl there were two toners which distributed uneven and caused a lot of banding in my hair. I was left with an unfinished product and told to go home and wash my own hair with clarifying shampoo to finish a service i paid $300 for. I came back in and decided it was not fit and the stylist immediately brought me to the bowl and started to fix me! however jennifer decided it was in her best interest to come over and yell about how she was late for a funeral, tell me that it was my own fault for using native shampoo (only 1-2 times a week as well). she went on to tell me i needed permanent toner. thankfully her amazing stylist did not listen to her and was able to let me leave with very minimal banding. there was another young stylist there as well who made me feel incredibly comfortable and eased my anxiety whilst the clarifying shampoo was working its magic. i left happy and even offered to pay for the extra services to fix my hair. i do have to say i will never be back due to the owner of this company jennifer and the way she spoke to me in a very emotional state. she also went as far as to find my personal social media pages and leave hate comments on my videos. i find it sad and disappointing for the young intelligent women who work for her, i am sorry that you guys lose clientele due to her unprofessionalism. thank you to the stylists there, but jennifer fix your attitude.

Before your wedding day even comes you get to visit her for a makeup trial, where we spent over an hour playing with different levels of color and intensity and by the time I left I felt amazing. I brought my mom with me for a second opinion and she made it so fun for the both of us. She worked seamlessly with our planner, hair stylist and photographer, and was always 3 steps ahead with the best outcomes in mind throughout the day. A small example of many: my fiance and I were planning to exchange gifts, and knowing I'd likely cry while opening mine she held off on applying any eye makeup that could possibly run until after we opened them. She was right - I cried, and the photos still looked great. In fact my makeup looked just as great at the end of the night as it did when she first applied it, thanks to her airbrushing magic and other products she uses to fix everything in place. Other appreciated things: she tucked blotting papers and a two tubes of lip color into my clutch, and left all my girls with a wand of their respective lip colors for touch ups as well. She did some light makeup on my groom that you couldn't notice in person but made our pictures look even better. She took pictures throughout my makeup application to check for anything that would show up funky on camera as we went. And for a nominal fee she'll stick around to touch you up one more time before you head down the aisle, something I especially appreciated since we did a first look and it was tearful. Do yourself a favor and call Joanne - and don't listen to wedding magazine timelines that tell you to wait until 3-6 months beforehand to do it either. She books up super fast.
