What immediately impressed me was that he took into account not only the condition of my knees, but also who I am as a patient and what I hope to get back to doing. Until recently, I was competing in CrossFit at an elite level and had ranked among the top 10 worldwide in my age group in the CrossFit Open, against thousands of competitors. My goal is not simply to make my knees feel better--I want, if reasonably possible, to return to a very high level of athletic activity. Dr. Wells understood that distinction. He is personable, engaging, exceptionally empathetic, and remarkably knowledgeable. Most importantly, he listened carefully to my concerns and took the time to answer every question I had. There were several different options and approaches available for treating my knees, and he explained each one clearly, including the potential benefits, limitations, and alternatives. What impressed me most was his willingness to actually give me his medical judgment. Rather than simply laying out a menu of options and leaving me to figure it out on my own, he explained what he would recommend for me, based on the latest medical evidence, his clinical experience, and what he has seen work in actual patients. He even told me what he would do if he were in my shoes, taking into account my particular circumstances and goals. That kind of thoughtful, confident guidance is surprisingly rare--and enormously valuable when you are making an important medical decision. Even better, Dr. Wells combines that depth of knowledge with the ability to translate it into a practical, realistic treatment plan tailored to the individual patient and his or her lifestyle. In my case, that means understanding that returning to serious athletic training and competition matters to me. I left the appointment feeling that he had truly understood my situation and had carefully thought through the best path forward. His staff is equally impressive. Nancy is an absolute pleasure to deal with--warm, helpful, and genuinely pleasant every time she answers the phone. And Carmen, who handles other administrative matters, will remind you of your favorite aunt who always made sure your favorite dessert was waiting when you came to visit. That combination of professionalism, warmth, and friendliness sets the tone for the entire practice: relaxed, welcoming, great energy, and very nice offices. I highly recommend Dr. Wells, particularly to athletes and active individuals dealing with knee, shoulder, or other joint problems. He is exactly the kind of physician you hope to find when you are trying to make an important decision about your care.

The MA showed me to a room, left and didn't shut the door. The staff with the office manager right there at the reception desk started talking loudly about a patient they referred to "as that old lady" who was being difficult in payer her bill. I had to walk out to the desk and tell them I could hear every word of their loud conversation and how unprofessional they were being referring to a patient as "that old lady". Dr Wells said he read my previous review and was taking steps to improve and he did ask his staff to shut the exam room door.

I wrote a review years ago and it disappeared, so this is long overdue…read more I think I first saw Dr Fletcher in 2017 after I fell off of a table at school and injured my arm. I saw him a year or so later when I had, again, fallen at work and injured my knee. At that time, I joked about being "clumsy" and having had broken/injured many body parts (foot, ankle, knee, ribs, hand, ulna, shoulder, skull). Although all my doctors knew of my previous injuries, Dr. Fletcher was the very first one to state that it was not normal to have so many falls. I though he was joking when he referred me to my first neurologist, Dr. Bruce Barton (great, but just retired.) I had been noticing that I was getting much weaker on one side with more obvious symptoms appearing and drastically affecting my functionality. 30+ doctors either dismissed my complaints or prescribed another do-nothing-but-make-me-sick medication. After a many brain/spine scans, it was discovered that I have an exceedingly rare (NORD -national organization for rare disorders) and progressive neurological problem. After 265 appointments with multiple surgeons/specialists in 18 months, I now have some sort of plan. Fast forward and I am no longer able to work, but thankfully kept seeing Dr. Fletcher with more falling injuries. I had a very painful, torn knee meniscus and he fixed me up beautifully! (I could finally get some exercise with 4 stable points of contact on a stationary bike.) I still use a cane for walking when dizziness is extreme. This year, after so many previous falls onto my shoulder, it was hurting 24/7 and would keep me awake with spasms. I tried physical therapy and cortisone shots, but I was so tired from sleep-deprivation that I was tripping more frequently. I am 3 weeks into Dr. Fletcher's rotator-cuff repair, and I can already feel a difference. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for finding Dr. Fletcher and his office of incredibly kind staff. After my experience these past few years, I know that a great, friendly staff makes any visit more pleasurable. Dr. Fletcher - my hero. Took 60 years, hundreds of doctors and dozens of surgeries for him to send me to the right person. He did a FABULOUS job on my knee and I'm now healing from his shoulder work. He is a Board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon who was recommended by an ex who worked in orthopedic surgery throughout the tri-county area. His words were, "He cares. He takes his time to do the best thing for the patient." This was not something he said often.
