For years, I struggled with depression and went through countless medications that never seemed to work for me. I often wondered if it was the doctors or the prescriptions themselves that were the issue. Recently, I discovered that I actually have ADHD, which put so much into perspective. I always thought I was just good at multitasking, but it turns out I was dealing with something much deeper. This revelation has been life-changing, and I owe much of that to my psychiatrist, Dr. Wymore. Dr. Wymore has been absolutely amazing! From the very first appointment, she showed genuine care and dedication not only to me but to my whole family. She's patient, understanding, and incredibly supportive, even amidst our family's chaos. It's rare to find a doctor who is so invested in their patients' well-being, and I truly appreciate everything she has done for us. Additionally, the staff at Potomac Shore is fantastic! They are incredibly efficient and always on top of prior authorizations, ensuring everything gets done quickly. I never have to call and ask more than once, which makes the whole process so much smoother. If you're looking for a compassionate and skilled mental health professional, I highly recommend Potomac Shore. Thank you, Dr. Wymore for being such a wonderful part of my journey! Your kindness has made a significant difference in my life and the lives of my children.

After my first meeting with her, she quickly and correctly identified what I actually needed and my quality of life has improved dramatically since. I don't want to sound dramatic but it genuinely changed my life for the better.

After years of trying to find the right mental health provider, I finally feel like I'm in the…read moreright hands with Mary Hart-Johnson, a highly trained and board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. She is the first provider I've seen who genuinely listens. Most of my past appointments with other doctors felt rushed and focused only on renewing prescriptions, but she actually takes the time to talk with you and understand what's going on. That alone sets her apart. She goes far beyond quick check-ins. She asks thoughtful questions, remembers your history, and works with you to figure out what's helping and what isn't. If someone wants a fast prescription with minimal conversation, she isn't the right fit. But if you want a provider who truly engages with your care, she is exceptional. I also appreciate her balanced approach. She prescribes medication when it's needed, but she also recommends vitamins and supplements to support brain health so you aren't relying solely on pharmaceuticals. It's not an extreme holistic approach and it's not a medication-only mindset. She blends both in a thoughtful, evidence-based way that supports long-term improvement. Over time, I've felt more supported and more understood by her than with any other mental health provider I've seen. She looks at the full picture, not just the symptoms on a chart, and that makes a meaningful difference in how I manage my conditions. If you're looking for someone who combines expertise, compassion, and real attention to your needs, I highly recommend Mary Hart-Johnson, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC. Five stars without hesitation.

As a deaf/ASL-using individual, I required an interpreter to fully and fairly participate in the evaluation. Dr. Wilson did not provide one and informed me that I would need to pay for my own interpreter. Given the urgency of my legal situation, I felt I had no real choice but to proceed. More troubling, I was also required to pay for an interpreter for my ex-husband during his portion of the evaluation. This raised serious concerns for me about compliance with disability accommodation standards and basic fairness in a court-involved process. In addition to these accessibility concerns, I have significant doubts about the quality and objectivity of the evaluation itself. Multiple professionals--including my current therapist and psychiatrist--reviewed the report and did not agree with its conclusions. I was advised by Dr. Wilson to pursue DBT therapy, yet the therapist I began working with did not find that recommendation clinically appropriate. A subsequent independent psychological evaluation also did not support a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Because of this report, I had to spend substantial time, money, and emotional energy challenging its findings in court. The consequences were not just financial--they were deeply personal. The juvenile court relied on this evaluation in a way that resulted in my children being kept from me for a period of time, and when I was able to see them, it was only under supervision. The emotional toll of being separated from my children under those circumstances cannot be overstated. Ultimately, with the support of my legal and mental health teams, I was able to demonstrate that I am stable and appropriately managing my mental health. For anyone requiring accommodations or involved in legal proceedings, I strongly urge you to carefully consider whether your rights--particularly under disability laws--will be fully respected and whether the evaluation process will be conducted in a fair, accessible, and objective manner.

This review only concerns Dr. Marshall, so it may not apply to all providers at Woodbridge…read more First off, all clients should know that Dr. Marshall does not live in the Washington, DC area, but in Pittsburgh, making any in-person work difficult to schedule. Additionally, Dr. Marshall was consistently dishonest, uncommunicative, and 5 months late in providing a custody evaluation. The final product was riddled with factual errors, spelling errors, and blatant inconsistencies and delivered 2 days before mediation, leaving no opportunity to correct the record. Certainly there can be delays in producing a report, but Dr. Marshall would ignore deadlines and hearing dates without notice, not responding to email for months. When she did finally respond, she lied about everything ("I always said I lived in Pittsburgh", "I never knew about any deadlines"). The day of an in-person evaluation, which was delayed weeks because of Marshall living in Pittsburgh, she communicated the wrong location. That thankfully did not mess up an important data point but made the time that much more stressful. The final report was a giant mess. Facts changed from paragraph to paragraph. Because Dr. Marshall was incommunicado for so long, she neglected to do her due diligence in confirming facts, so the whole report is largely just he said-she said statements, which she used to base her recommendations. By the end, we had completely given up on Dr. Marshall and assumed she had just stolen my money because she was unresponsive for months. Only to have something delivered at the very last second, like a high school student turning in an incoherent term paper two semesters late.
