I accepted can't do it alone lol. TFT is why I'll never go back to a traditional gym. Each workout session fits within 1 hour, the sessions are designed in such a way where you are never waiting for an equipment, and whereas at a traditional gym it would take you twice as long to achieve the same results. The bonus is discovering there are so many muscles you didn't know how to train otherwise. I've tried both custom and group sessions and both are great. Custom gives you that one on one experience with one of the trainers where you can really hone in on your goals (fitness/strength). Group gives you the community. I like to alternate between the two depending on the season I'm in.

For a long time, I let life experiences keep me unmotivated and unhealthy until I found TFT. The trainers here are next level; they know exactly how to push me while keeping it fun and motivating. My workouts have never felt this effective, and I'm already seeing results I didn't think were possible. For the first time, I look forward to every session, knowing I'm building strength, confidence, and consistency. This gym isn't just a place to work out; it's where I've found a passion for fitness. And I'm just getting started.

I had a pretty bad high ankle sprain back in January 2025 from rolling it on a teammates foot, no…read morefractures found in X-ray--I was non-weight bearing, on a knee scooter, into a boot, and progressed to walking into a shoe with minimal guidance from friends who are PTs. I was back to exercising regularly and playing volleyball in March. It wasn't until May that I found out I had a hairline fracture and bone bruising through MRI because I was still complaining about pain. I was told by the orthopedic doctors and a podiatrist that I needed surgery for my ankle, but I ultimately didn't want to do that. I didn't like any of the PTs that were in my area and in-network. I found Dr. Jay by chance--a simple yelp search and I found out he was walking distance from me. I dm'd him, back in December, my history and asked if surgery was the only way to go, and he responded pretty quickly that he's had the same injury and was able to get back into sports without going under the knife. After talking to Dr. Jay via zoom, I was convinced that he was gonna be the one to help me regain strength and mobility in my ankle. Dr. Jay is very knowledgeable, he'll breakdown the anatomy and physiology so you know what's happening with your body, and he'll teach you the right mechanics for the exercises. He also went over types of shoes I should be wearing during different types of exercises which is important because the shoes I wore were affecting my ankle and foot mobility. Dr. Jay doesn't just treat the symptom, he treats you as a whole because everything in the end is all connected. Dr. Jay will create workout routines that are suitable for you, and will tailor it based on your needs, such as what gym you go to/equipment you have. Send videos and updates on your workouts/daily activities so you can get his feedback, and he can tweak exercises/give you tips on what you can do in those exercises to reduce pain. One thing I needed to learn was that I didn't have the same capacity for load as I did pre-injury, and that I needed to not overdo it on exercises even though, mentally, I felt like I could do more. "When strain exceeds capacity, leads to negative adaptations. When strain stays right below capacity, positive adaptations. Learn through mistakes, and learn quickly on how to find the right amount." I'm very hard on myself, especially when training declined due to illness, holidays, vacations, and or pain (due to overloading/wearing too rigid shoes). Dr. Jay stayed positive and continued to encourage me. He reminded me that we are not perfect, and it is okay to take breaks. Dr. Jay's program gave me the structure, guidance, and motivation I needed to get back to running and jumping without fear. He's helped me gain the knowledge and confidence to get back on the court. Will definitely recommend Dr. Jay to anyone I know who's dealing with chronic pain and willing to put in the work!

He has made me a believer in the power of strength training with proper nutrition. Since I started with him, my pain has improved significantly and I am hopeful that it will eventually go away. More importantly, he has transformed me from a lazy, fearful and unhealthy individual to a significantly more confident person who genuinely looks forward and eating healthy. For that, I am eternally grateful.

You will see kids, teens and adults all doing the sweet science of boxing which will make you want to better yourself. Fire in the Ring or "Ring of fire" has been a gym that I went to from 2012-2013 because of it strength conditioning program. Which actually lead to my cousin joining and fighting for the gym under Clyde and Cleo. The gym overall has expanded and when I began training there again mid to late 2021 and I was hooked. The vibe and aura of the gym gave you such surreal feeling that you know everyone here means business. You see different age ranges training at the gym to also amateur and pro fighters. The coaches are mostly busy training either the kids program or the fighters. The fighters tend to all train together. While as other fighters train with their own trainers. If you don't plan on fighting, the bags and weights are open for all. If you're starting out and trying to learn as an adult I would say ask the coaches and they will be happy to give a tip or two but mind they're mostly busy training the fighter and the kids program. Ask other fighters or members for tips and when you do perform. Someone will either give you the 'nod' of acceptance or they will come by and help you out. During the duration I trained there it was really all business in that gym. Everyone trains and no games. The gym isn't a Fitness boxing gym, it is not a place where the coach will stand in front of a group of people and talk on a head set while playing Zumba boxing. This is a boxing gym that's probably one of the handful of authentic boxing gyms left in The Bay Area.

My journey at OTFSSF began in September of 2023 when a co-worker asked me if I had a regular…read moreroutine at my local gym. I answered no. Ever walk into a gym and just do whatever you feel like, thinking it would be enough in exercising? Well that was me! Working out with zero results because I never really pushed myself other than working out a little longer. I would use different machines for like 15-20 mins and stop if I felt it was enough or if I was just tired. My co-worker told me that I should try OrangeTheory because it would be the best fit for me. And I can say, she was so right! After doing a trial at the location in So. SF, I knew this was the beginning of my transformation! Here are my reasons why I absolutely love it: - Community of people just like me wanting to be healthy - Excellent coaches who are there to guide you on correcting your form of exercise, giving advice & overall support even if you have restrictions they will modify it for you - Routine that works on both cardio & strength (I have gained muscles!) - No one judges you on your appearance or age - Music puts you in the mood (maybe too much as I find myself wanting to dance) - Heart monitoring so you can actually see your results during and after your exercise - Challenges throughout the month to keep your routines exciting yet pushing your limits You can say that I am an OTFSSF addict! Highly recommend if you want to get healthy & stronger!

From the start, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. My first class was with Head Coach Raquel, who was super friendly and helpful. She took time after my intro class to go over my stats and patiently answer all my questions, which made a great first impression. I originally started with an 8-class/month membership, but upgraded to unlimited when I signed up for the Transformation Challenge in January. While challenges sometimes require an extra registration fee, I highly recommend them -- they're a great way to stay motivated and committed to your goals. The studio staff is also wonderful. They're always helpful, whether it's handling late arrivals, class cancellations, or loaner OTBeat Burn monitors. I really appreciate how accommodating they are. One thing I've noticed is how strong the community is -- a lot of members seem to know each other and have built friendships here. While I haven't made friends with other members yet, the fact that coaches (Raquel, Victoria) and staff (Lawvan, Ivan, Aidan) remember my face makes me feel welcome and seen. If I had to note a couple of areas for improvement, the treadmills feel a bit dated -- the built-in fans blow a bit of dust even after cleaning -- and the InBody scanner used for the Transformation Challenge is more of a consumer-level version, unlike the professional-grade ones I've seen at other studios. Hopefully those are things the studio can upgrade over time. That said, this place is still my favorite part of my fitness routine. The friendly atmosphere, supportive coaches, and helpful staff keep me coming back. I'm so glad I found this studio!
