I've had at least a couple hundred massages in my lifetime, and I came away from this one ready to offer Michael the deed to my house. He's what I call an "intuitive" therapist: he paid close attention to what my body was saying--which was far more accurate than what I actually said, since I apparently didn't realize which of my muscles were tight--and with bold, strong strokes, he went in with customized attention. He even doubled back on my back muscles after giving them a rest, something I've requested in the past and didn't even have to this time! Strong hands, sensitive touch. Michael's massage was professional and intuitive. His technique was excellent - and I'm pretty picky about it because I've had massages for over 30 years and I know what a good one should be. Several times during my massage, he checked to make sure I was comfortable with the pressure. And he has a fantastic, private studio very close to downtown, but out of the hubbub, so it's quiet and relaxing. Would highly recommend the experience. One note - he has a small, lovely, and quiet dog that comes into the massage studio, so if you don't like dogs, you should ask Michael to leave him in the main house. read more

It was clear to me when he was working with me yesterday that he has devoted himself to this practice in the same way that an artist devotes him or herself to their work. That said, I like to start my stay by taking care of me and make an early stop at Michael Perry Massage. The location is easy to get to, on Court Street just off of Bradford and the atmosphere is welcoming and personal. Michael assesses each individual's therapeutic goals and personalizes each treatment in a customized massage. I find his pressure perfect and firm, but that he personalizes that as well.
