I don't often post on Yelp and as the cliché goes only people who have an extraordinarily good or extraordinarily bad experience tend to post about it on yelp. Well as cliché as it sounds, you can count me among those people. Sadly my experience with this doctor, was unspeakably horrible. The first mistake I made was calling "1-800-dentist" when I had an emergency. They put me through to Dr Oil and I saw him that same day for a simple procedure He used that visit as a lure to keep me coming back and little by little, he convinced me to have more and more work done. Example: "well, I've killed the nerve, so your pain is gone, but this tooth will need a root canal; your bill for today is $600 but if you come back and allow me to do the root canal, I will apply that $600 towards the cost of the root canals, which means essentially today's visit will be free." Well, I guess he spotted me for the sucker I am, and he used that same tactic along with many other similar tactics that conmen often employ to keep me coming back for a period of about eight months. And while initially, I would consider the work adequate, almost everything he proposed was the most expensive option and he tried very hard to convince me that said option was the best choice. When any of his work failed , I.e., a crown came loose or a veneer came off, he would not honor his commitment to follow up the work free of charge. His last name is quite apropos. Because he is slick. Like a snake in the grass. After $20,000-$30,000 of work, most of which had to be redone in future years, I cannot recommend more strongly that you stay as far away from this person as possible. He is more than a bad dentist. He is a bad person. I could go into detail with specific lies he told me, lies I overheard him telling someone on the phone, and other Deceitful practices. But it hurts my soul too much to relive them. He will take your teeth and he will take your money and he will eventually take your spirit. He is one of the 10 worst people I've ever met in my life and while I have encountered many bad medical professionals, along with many outstanding professionals which I am now making an effort to comment on in this app also) he is by far the worst medical professional or personal of service I have ever encountered. That includes the person who hung up on me at Saks.com customer service, and even the person who Conned me out of $800 through Western Union fraud. He is worse than the person who, when I was agonizing pain sold me a bottle of Lactaid caplets disguised as narcotic painkillers for $400. He is worse than all of these people because at least they acknowledge themselves as criminals. He hides behind his office on Fifth Avenue and his diplomas and his snake-oil salesman's smile, and takes advantage of people when they are most vulnerable. He is as much a con artist as he is a dentist, and I say this without hyperbole: if I could change only a few things in my life, one of them would be ever visiting his office. The residual damage she did to my mouth is hard to describe. I have gotten over the $20,000 plus that I paid him, but to date I have had between eight and 10 teeth permanently extracted that he initially worked on. He cuts corners and if he was an architect the house he built would be the equivalent of attractive enough on the outside buy made of asbestos and flammable materials on the inside. And I assure you he would be the first want to deny this Bestos and he will be the first one to set that house on fire and then blame someone else, probably a lightning strike. Because it is within his personality to blame God for his intentional Misdeeds. If you have managed to read this far you probably think I have a garage but I can assure you that I write this in good faith and I only wish someone else had written a review like this before I went to see him. My next review will be I'm by current dentist who is the polar opposite of this evil man. If you need a dentist, I suggest you look two miles uptown and about half a mile further east, to somewhere in the vicinity of 106 and Third's and look for a name that while spelled differently is pronounced similar to a last name you would not want to have. But don't let the name fool you: this uptown man his outstanding, honest, and unlike Dr. Michael Oil this man cares more about people and the dental profession then he does about maximizing profits. Two of the teeth he worked on are still in my mouth with their original veneers (his work) and to his credit, they are very pretty. However the other teeth with which I entrusted him (which is essentially the entirety of my upper jaw) are in various states of decay, repair, or post extraction. I guess I've said enough. Stay far far away from this evil person. 106 and Third is a destination that will be well worth the trip. By the way, I only gave one star because I was worried if I gave zero stars it wouldn't show up. read more
