I recommend them unreservedly.

In a city of soaring rent, dodgy landlords and occasionally unscrupulous estate agents, Allan…read moreFuller are one of the good guys. I rented a flat in Putney through them and overall, received professional, courteous and prompt service throughout. Everything went pretty smoothly from the beginning. I strolled into their offices, set out my requirements and budget. Shortly afterwards I had an appointment a few days later to view a couple of flats. Two weeks later with plenty of support from them I had moved in. They were highly professional throughout, giving me plenty of notice of impending quarterly inspections and agreeing to move the date when I was working at home one day. They supplied me with all the information I needed to connect my utilities, stressed their compliance with the Govt's tenant deposit protection scheme and even - a really nice touch which I appreciated - sent me a card signed from everyone I'd met welcoming me into my new flat. Wow! Just one issue prevents them from getting 5 stars, namely a slight hitch over my securing of the flat. I had been due to view the flat on a Wednesday but couldn't due to Allan Fuller's inability to get the keys. I then had to ring them for a new appointment and by the time I got one, on Saturday, I was told the flat was under offer. To their credit they allowed me to view the flat anyway, but all of a sudden I found myself in a bidding war. Maybe that's all part of the territory in the highly-competitive world of London property but the fact is that I wouldn't have been in that situation if I had been able to see and bid for the flat on Wednesday. Anyway, it's a relatively small blemish, and one which wasn't repeated for the rest of my stay. When I gave my notice to move out, they recommended cleaners that met their requirements in the contract and showed plenty of flexibility when I had some last-minute hitches. Best of all, they acted professionally and fairly in the return of my deposit, docking only the cost of a small light bulb that I had forgotten to replace. In short: I highly recommend Allan Fuller as a professional, fair and flexible estate agent.

They are NOT!!! From the moment the branch manager Tony came round he put me at ease and assured me they would work hard and do their best to get me a good price. They email all appointments and then the day after the viewings you receive another email with HONEST feedback. Tony sold my house within 2 days and achieved over asking price, I moved a couple of weeks ago and things were really smooth proving if you choose an estate agent that knows the market and the area (Tony has lived in the area all his life) things do not have to be difficult. Once I paid the deposit, service level dropped to zero. After much chasing, was informed the Lettings Manager was no longer with the company and no one would follow up on her actions as she 'overpromised' clients. No accountability. - Repairs took forever. Months of weekly calls and emails to no avail. Winkworth promised to get back to me after every contact, but never would. When questioned about it, they claimed to have no record of previous communications. When I was finally put in touch with the repair company they also said they'd been having communication issues with Winkworth for months and weren't able to confirm any jobs. In a nutshell, they only look out for themselves, despite managing the property on behalf of the landlord and probably charging extortionate management fees. My back door lock was broken for over a month and anyone could've climbed over the back fence and just walked through the back door. Stay away from Winkworth Chiswick. Don't be fooled by their corporate image and perceived professionalism like I was. Go with a smaller, friendlier agent, there's plenty on Chiswick High Road.

It might sound anomalous given the straight-laced reputation of most estate agents, but Peach…read moreProperties is probably the quirkiest real estate agency in the neighbourhood, being housed in an ex-public toilet at the Shoreditch end of Bethnal Green Road. I rented my first Shoreditch flat through this relatively small but efficient and knowledgeable real estate agency and would definitely use Peach again. The staff have generally either lived in the area or do so at present and are particularly knowledgeable about Shoreditch's Victorian built Boundary Estate where many local residents rent one and two bed properties. All in all a charming little real estate agency that goes some way to dispelling the myth that all real estate agents are cowboys.

When looking for property in London, it is always helpful to find a trustworthy estate agent who…read morewill be honest and upfront about their properties before you go and view. Luckily Living London provided a great service and found me a nice place which was exactly how they described it. They even managed to bargain with the landlord to reduce the rent! The process was very simple from laying down a deposit to moving in - as with any estate agents, you do unfortunately have to pay an admin fee which was around £75 and does bump up the cost but the property and service was worth it. The only thing which concerned me was that I knew the person who had looked at the flat just before me (a work colleague) and discovered this in conversation with her when asking why she was so upset. Apparently the flat had been promised to her by Living London and she was about to pay the deposit when the next person who viewed put theirs down immediately and so got the property. I didn't let on that the person was me but did feel bad for her. Unfortunately estate agents are quite ruthless and the property will go to the person who puts their money where there mouth is first.

After a lot of negotiation we agreed a sum that was acceptable to both the vendor and myself. Not all I wanted but enough to cover a large part of the cost.
