This visit was for my seven year old, so they ensured that all they found, I could see for myself and understood what it all meant. Of note, be prepared to pay for your portion of the visit BEFORE you leave the office. I'm not a huge fan of this practice. I was not aware that this could cause trouble with this scheduled appointment and no one explained this to me as I was making the appointment. An honest mistake on both my part and the office. However rather than explaining this to me calmly one of the front desk ladies was very rude and even accused me of trying to commit insurance fraud..... The other lady was very nice though. this is very sad as the doctors were recommended to me by family members who are patients there. Even though I was a new patient the staff was very accommodating. Once I was in the room, he reviewed my scans from my previous doctors and explained to me what he was seeing in the scans. He checked me over and agreed I would be a great candidate for surgery and explained the process and recovery. He assured me I would not leak brain fluid like a previous doctor had mentioned and did not send me off with a 30 day supply of prednisone and antibiotics like my previous doctor had also done. Although I have not had my surgery yet I am very confident in my choice for choosing Dr Browne to give me some much needed relief! Thank yo Update: I had my surgery with Dr Browne in office rather than at a surgery center. It went very well, I had absolutely no pain! Nose bled for a bit the first two days but nothing that kept me from normal things. Toughest part was sleeping up right only because I'm a tummy sleeper. I appreciate that Dr. Fyfe tries to avoid surgery, if possible. But, if you do end up needing…read moresurgery, I recommend getting a second opinion before you move forward with surgery. Dr. Fyfe performed my surgery in March (balloon sinuplasty and "roto rooter" holes). The surgery required general anesthesia, and recovery from the "roto rooter" was long and painful. After recovery, I felt great for about 6 weeks. Then, in May I got a sinus infection and took antibiotics. In June I got another sinus infection, another follow up, and more antibiotics. In July...another sinus infection. After that, I sought another opinion, and found that there are more modern and effective procedures that do not require cutting holes (the "roto rooter") and do not require general anesthesia. I had another procedure done last week to fix my sinuses (the holes Dr. Fyfe made weren't draining properly) and it has been a much easier recovery so far. Only twilight sedation was needed, and it was done in-office instead of in a surgery center. I feel more confident now that my infected days are over, but I wish I would have gotten a second opinion before surgery with Dr. Fyfe so that I could have avoided the permanent and unnecessary holes in my sinuses.
