Sometime in December, I came here a few times with my aunt to buy some Christmas gifts. It wasn't busy and I suppose we should have seen that as a "warning" sign. The sales at the store were just okay, but that's not what warrants the one star (I'd give 0 if I could!). The staff are something else - I've read in other reviews (on Yelp or otherwise) about similar experiences. Long story short, the refund / exchange policy was not communicated at all on purchase (and there was nothing on display in the store). After a lot of arguing, we finally managed to get a refund on product by cash instead of the original payment method. It's difficult to say who was in the wrong in these circumstances, but it was not appropriate or professional for the staff to have a bad attitude and argue with customers, especially in front of other customers. read more

I have been to this Michael Kors Outlet store twice and both times I have been very happy with my experience. First impressions: much smaller store than Coach but still has a vast selection of purses. Very clean. Very organized. Lots of friendly staff to help. They have good discounts on nice purses, dresses, wallets, accessories, etc. First time I was here on a busy long weekend and the store was packed so noone was able to help me. I took my pick and lined up at the cash and one of the staff noticed I was holding a purse that was from the display and they went and got me a fresh one (brand new sealed) from the back. Second time was yesterday and it was less busy than the first time though it was still on a Saturday. I was looking for a smaller purse than what I got from before and the saleslady was able to provide me with some suggestions on what to get. Unfortunately there were no fresh sealed purses from the back on the purse I picked but the lady cleaned the purse I was going to get so I was happy with that. Nobody ever answers the phone (called 4 timer on Friday Oct 8th, after leaving a message on Thursday with return phone number). Don't bother calling, the number is a number that nobody checks or cares about. I'm having second thoughts of ever buying anything from Michael Kors. This store has a great selection of handbags, purses and wallets but the prices are still quite high for an outlet. Even so, my sister and I still bought purses and matching wallets here because we really like the styles and designs of their products. As for the service, it was not very good. We had a hard time finding someone to help get us the purses and wallets we wanted. It wasn't until we had finally found what we were looking for that someone came and asked us if we needed any help finding anything. So we just asked her to get us fresh, new, and unopened versions of the purses and wallets we wanted to purchase and she was nice enough to go into the back and get it for us. read more

I came here on Good Friday and the outlet was packed. Unlike Kate Spade, Coach, Ted Baker and Lindt, there was no line up to go inside MK. There was a good selection of bags from cross body to big totes. There was also a $3000 cobalt satchel made of snake skin! I decided to buy a crossbody bag so I held onto the one I saw on the rack. I went to line up and I saw an employee checking to see the items that each customer was looking to buy. They would call into their headsets and other staff brought those items out before you make it to the cashier. They then give you a brand new wrapped up bag or item for you to buy. For me, I noticed that they had to wait a bit before my bag was brought out, so the cashier didn't call me up when though I was first in line to pay. This only took a few minutes so it wasn't bad. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I liked the concept of having customers buy the new item rather than the item on display. But the only downside to this is you might be buying a bag that you can't check the quality for before you buy it since it is wrapped up in foam and a plastic bag. Also they stamp on your receipt that it is final sale. This is a risk but it's not too crazy. I had a good experience here. read more

On July 6, 2014 I visited Michael Kors at the Toronto Premium Outlets. Upon entry, we were told that the store only accepted cash as their debit/credit machines were down. With only a mindset to browse, I was happy to have found a dress and had enough cash to purchase it. The dress included a leather belt but to my luck, the representative forgot to include it when wrapping the dress. Only realizing that the belt was missing upon returning home, I called the store back and was told that the only thing they could do was to put the belt on hold until I could return. The first representative must not have realized that some people travelled far to visit the outlets and assumed I could pick up the belt the next day. After learning that I lived an hour's drive away, she made me feel like she was "doing me a favour" by leaving the belt on hold until I had the time to travel back. "The belt is yours, we'll hold it for you for as long as you want" was the comment she made to me in her condescending tone which I would never forget. Having some retail experience, I knew that stores would often ship clothing to sister locations, whether for internal reasons or under the requests of customers. I asked if this was an option and was told that such option did not exist. Never acknowledging that it was the store's mistake, the call ended with me feeling cheated and hoped to then ask my husband to drive me to the outlet the following weekend. After thinking about my first experience, I was more convinced that this DID NOT MAKE SENSE. Learning that I would not be able to visit the store the following weekend, I made a second call. The second representative was much more re-assuring, acknowledged that it was the store's error and that she would try to rectify it. She then mentioned that the store DID SHIP TO OTHER LOCATIONS but she preferred that I called back when her manager was on duty to override the shipping charges to be paid by the store rather than myself. More hopeful, I waited for the right times provided by the representative to call back when the manager was on duty. My third call was July 15, 2014. Reached the manager who turned my hopes upside down. Firstly, she did not sound confident that the belt was even still in the store and it was only that I insisted to wait on the phone for her to search that she finally located it. Secondly, I was then informed that such SHIPPING SERVICE DID NOT EXIST and the verbiage used was more in line with the first representative - that the only thing they could do was hold the belt until I could make my way back. More frustrated than ever, I made it clear to her that it was an error made by the store and this so-called "shipping service" was not what I was asking for. I wanted a solution - ship the damn belt to a sister location and I will go out of my way to pick it up! Apologizing and offering proper training to her employees did not solve my problem (that might be something that I would want to hear AFTER I got the belt). Taking down my phone number and address, the manager then offered to check with her "head office" to obtain approval to fulfill my shipping request. Finally, after ten minutes of frustration, the manager had revealed that there actually might be a solution. Probing more about this "shipping service", the one to five business days window would require a signature upon receipt and the manager could not understand why I insisted the belt to be shipped to a store rather than my home. Because I am part of the working population and won't be able to wait one to five business days at home to sign for the belt maybe? Regardless, this option was still not yet confirmed as she offered to call back during her next shift, Thursday July 17, to provide me with an answer on whether this request was "approved by head office". Further testing my patience, I have decided to wait until hearing back from this manager with my "solution" as my interactions with the past three representatives have now become somehow comical to me. I have never purchased anything from Michael Kors before and after this experience, I never will again. I cannot understand how this brand earned any reputation at all with a lack of ownership, communication, professionalism and all the skills/service any customer would think a store of Michael Kor's caliber would have. Doubt that this note will achieve anything other than serving as an outlet for my anger and frustration but I can assure you that I will do all I can to tell my friends and family of this experience, starting with posting this on the internet. I would not recommend this location and here is why. I came into the store one evening being a frequent shopper I'm usually helped when needed And all is well. However when I came to this location and needed assistance the manager was very rude and did everything to avoid eye contact with me. Another young lady came up to me and asked if there was something I was looking for I mentioned what it was and she just stood there looked around the store and said nope can't help you. I found this experience low grade especially for a well known brand such as they are this experience put a sour taste in my mouth. read more
