Horrible customer interaction! While trying to exchange a Christmas gift, the associate was not helpful at all. While simply trying to exchange a pair of boots for a larger size, the young lady said, "we don't have those in a larger size - mind you, she never went into the back room to check her inventory! At this point, we did not want to shop in this store nor purchase ANYTHING from this product line! This is the second attempt to make a purchase in this location. My daughter bought a watch for 268.00 at the Mall of America store. Shes still in high school And works part time. She realized she couldn't afford the watch so we decided to return it. The first lady referred me to the so called manager. He said we cant take the watch back because it was adjusted. I said the band is easily adjustable and can be returned to its original state. He was extremely rude and condescending and refused to take watch back. I asked him who his manager was and he refused to give that info. He then ran off and pawned me off on one of his employees who gave me a customer service line. Since i am from out of town the customer service dept told me to find a store in my area. Luckily the ladies at the store were much nicer and we were finally able to return the watch. Historically, I do not go shopping looking fabulous. Most times I usually look yoga pants chic on mall runs I love to be comfortable while shopping. As you may know retail staff in fancy stores can turn there snob you, if do not look like the part and if you look like your not spending money(window shopping)! I have been treated really cold in some other fancy stores and even followed like I was going to steal merchandise. I did not get treated like that I this store. Although, I have been to this store in past the staff are not familiar with me, I walked in and I was greeted promptly and warmly. The sale associate what attentive and friendly. I explained to her what I was looking for and informed her that I was not trying to spend a fortune. She immediately took me to the sale wall and found exactly what I wanted to purchase. She even wrapped it so beautifully because I informed her it was a Christmas gift. I had a pleasant experience at this location. I will be returning to purchase more items. read more

Michael Kors--you've officially lost two customers for life, and potentially more as I fully intend on telling all of my friends about this. I've probably got close to $8K in MK items in my closet, over half of which are gifts from my mother over the years. This past holiday season I bought my mom a pair of ~$200 Georgia Velvet Pumps for Christmas---a gift for a selfless mother of four, who rarely treats herself to a night out, and who finally has a night out coming up and finally tried on the shoes. Well, they were slightly too small. So, she went to the MK store. The manager there tonight, Samantha, declined my mom's request to trade in the shoes for a size up. Apparently it's MK policy that all returns must be within 30 days. My mom spoke with a customer service rep on the phone, who told her "Well, if you looked online, you would have known about the 30 day return policy." WOW! I'm speechless. Even if that is a store's rotten policy, there's this little thing in business called a "concession." Dear John Idol, your policies are bullshit and your store managers are bullshit. MK should really take a lesson out of the Nordstrom customer service and overall business model book, which by the way, my mom went to afterwards and started looking at $400 shoes. Could have been you, MK. There's a reason why Nordstrom's customer service is renowned. So during my morning walk, I decided to stop in the store and look of my potential new item. The cashiers are VERY rude. The only one that kind of smile is new and try way too hard to get her points on comission. So I went around and came back to purchase. So disappointed at the entire chaos that went down. Ok. One of the item I wanted was sold out, and yes I was very careful enough to not get a display because it was not what I signed up for. So they turned around trying to distract me and finally came by to say they didn't any other. They tought me into getting the display with a discount of 10% of which the girl told me it was $180. So I got the whole thing and went home. Usually I will receive an email confirmation of my transaction. Well: 1-I didn't because she did not have my email right 2-My husband came home and I'm showing him everything, he goes the watch was $195 or $180? I go $180 that's what I was told. 3-They scanned all the items and put the tags in the bag. But they did not put the one from the watch. Which to me it means, I basically did not get a discount. Me buying it for $180, and them selling $195 with a 10% is the same as $180. 4- My husband asked why is it that it is final sale? Meaning you will not receive any benefit from it if anything because it was final sale and written beside it damaged. REALLY???? Now you will say why is it that my husband is the one paying attention and not me. I have 2 kids to attend and by the time I can sit and think, my husband is home to pick up the pieces. I wonder how many people these people wrip off daily or it's just me with my african name and accent. Very disappointing. Do not waste your time to go to columbia mall MK, bunch of lazy girls looking out for their next victim. I really like Michael Kors the brand, and all that it has to offer. I love their style. This location on the other hand somewhat disappointed me. Granted it was two days after Christmas and the place was very busy. I needed my watch adjusted, so I came to the store. Everyone was friendly and was greeted immediately. It was about a ten minute wait, which with how busy it was you couldn't complain. There was a lady ahead of me waiting to get her watch adjusted as well, but he took me ahead of her (not complaining for myself, but I could tell she was a bit irritated). I needed two links out of my watch, instead of taking the time to take one link out of each side, he took two out of one. Very disappointed with that. I called the store to see if I could return or exchange an item even though I had exceeded the 30 day return policy. The manager stated I could make an exchange provided I had the receipt. I returned to the store 30 minutes following the call and was greeted by a salesperson. I explained that the manager stated I could make an exchange but the woman refused to allow the exchange. I repeated that I called the store before coming to ensure I wasn't wasting my time. Again she stated I could not make an exchange. Finally she asked a fellow salesperson about my claim and was told the manager approved the exchange. She continued to follow me around the store so I tried to ignore her. I am placing 1 star because zero stars, which is what they deserve, is not an option here on Yelp. We can all say Michael Kors has a nice reputation while maintaining themselves as a moderately high end brand. Though some high end places may take advantage of you and pull off a money scheme from their employees. It's happened to you or someone you may know, and it happened to me. We paid for a product in full with cash and even giving more to cover the full amount while we triple checked the amount before giving the money to Lakeia, a moderately tall light skin lady with black/blonde dreads. Clearly we gave the money in full 100s but says we are missing a 100. She constantly knelt up and down the cash register before letting us know that we are missing $100. She clearly placed it somewhere hidden. The manager opened up the register later after explaining that there was only the ones Lakeia said we had, less than what we gave, but we did in fact pay in full but of course, since Lakeia hid it, obviously it isn't in the register and told us it isn't here. You do not need to be a genius to realize well no shit the money isn't there, money schemers aren't clueless or brainless. They know the game which is why they're good at screwing with people. Those kind of people aren't going to be waving around the customers money they just ripped off and stole showing it to them or to the eye of the cameras (blind spots). I recommend paying with a credit card if you don't want your money STOLEN while they act oblivious and innocent to the fact you know they took it, or even better, do not shop at that damn Michael Kors store here at Columbia Mall. But no worries, don't even bother heading over here for some time while we file a lawsuit, which we will win in no doubt from previous money scheme experience, and the store should remain closed until the the investigation closes along with LAKEIA being placed arrest and fired from the Michael Kors management. I come to this location pretty often. Staff is a mix of inattentive or completely on you trying to up sell you any way possible. I came in the other day to look over the new fitness trackers and since the saleswomen was right there ready to answer all my questions I ended up buying the tracker on the spot. No complaints I'm pretty happy. There was some pressure to pair it with some bracelets but hey its sales I understand. This store has a large variety of bags, sunglasses and accessories. The clothing selection however is kind of small and could use more sizes. I only wish they had better sales so I didn't always have to drive to the outlet in Arundel Mills. read more

I went in to find something for my wife and somehow I walked out with a watch a bag with a matching wallet shoes and a dress! Meghan was very personable and talked about the product very well! I was greeted immediately by almost everyone in the store and then was given very one on one service. The store was busy but she was able to leave me with things to look at while she checked in with a few other customers. Jose at the register offered to gift wrap everything and when he didn't have a large enough box, put a large bow on the shopping bag and tissue paper to make it look more like a gift! My wife loved everything. Meghan even called after the anniversary date I told her to see if my wife liked everything and explain the exchange policy if necessary! I have always Been a loyal customer of coach. I decided on a whim to go into the Michael Kors store in Columbia mall. I found an electric blue purse and matching wallet bought 05/2015. I went back to the store 4 months later and showed Lynsey the manager my wallet that had the threads coming out. She stated mk does not make that color anymore can't replace my wallet with same exact color. I went back 02/2016 to show Lynsey the manager my purse where on the handle was coming apart. I was told she was out and would be back soon I waited 1 1/2 hours and decided to leave leaving my number with a very rude staff member to call me back to resolve my defective merchandise .... This call was never made... I went back to the store again in July 2016 only to be told my one year warranty had expired and I would have to pay to have my purse sent out for repairs. I explained my attempts to resolve this issue and the clerk just replied you will have to pay. I called the corporate office and spoke to rob after having a frustrating, upsetting conversation requesting that mk stand by their product and repair my purse for free or give me a store credit to purchase another purse...rob told me I was out of luck it's mk's warranty policy to only cover repairs from one year from date of purchase. I requested a call back from a supervisor which never happened. It was suggested to email corporate to review my case. The email was sent with no response. I guess mk is so big that they can't find the time to deal with customer relations and help work with the hard working paying consumer customer.... What a shame... In terms of objectivity rating the quality of customer service and the quality of the merchandise mk is very very poor. My issue is still and never will get resolved. As a hard working paying consumer I will never return to mk to spend my hard earned money.. There are plenty of more designers out there that take better care of the customers. read more
